Caroline POV

The next morning, I walked into the gallery trying to hold myself together.

I was surprised to find Larkin, our gallery director, waiting for me.

He urged me to follow him to his office.

I hesitated at first, but something felt off.

So I followed.

The moment we stepped into his office, he looked around as if to check for anyone who'd be spying on us then closed the door
