The hospital hallway echoed with the soft murmur of voices as I stood by Rosalia’s bedside, watching her with a dark look in my eyes.

She had been here all day and had finally gotten the go-ahead from the doctors for her discharge. While Joe handled the procedures, Rosalia and I waited.

I had been watching her all day, I could tell I was making Rosalia very uncomfortable
