C23 You must Lose This Face!

Seeing Westley's smug look, Morio felt an overwhelming urge to smack him across the face.

Yet, he knew that now, more than ever, he had to keep his composure.

They say that before God destroys a man, He first drives him mad. Westley was already mad enough; Morio's task was to push him over the edge.

With this in mind, Morio's lips twisted into a malevolent grin.

He rose to his feet, cleared his throat, and announced to everyone present, "This man has obstructed me repeatedly. Should any unbearable consequences arise, they are not my responsibility."

With that single statement, he absolved himself of any blame.

"Dr. Chen, how could this be your fault?"

"Exactly! We've all seen this guy getting in the way over and over."

"I even captured evidence on camera."

"Let him keep up his act! He can take the fall if anything goes wrong."

Even Sienna felt the urge to point at Westley's nose and join the chorus of condemnation.

Morio's smile widened as he listened to the surrounding chatter.

Sometimes, swaying public opinion was just that easy.

Westley, however, paid no heed to the murmurs around him, his gaze fixed on the elderly patient as he pondered with a silver needle in hand.

"What's the matter? Aren't you the expert? Why aren't you administering the needle?" Morio taunted with a scoff.

"His condition is somewhat complex; it's not just epilepsy," Westley murmured, his brow creased with concern.

"You're just afraid, aren't you?" Morio mocked.

Westley hadn't done a thing, yet he claimed the old man had more than epilepsy. It was clear he was spouting nonsense.

Who did he think he was?

Not even the most skilled doctors could make such a claim.

"You're too late to acknowledge your error. Better to demonstrate your miraculous healing now," Morio egged on.

"Alright!"

Westley nodded, ready to begin the acupuncture.

Sienna quickly seized his arm, urging, "Westley, don't be rash; a life is at stake here!"

In that moment, Westley turned to Sienna and said, each word deliberate, "Trust me, just this once!"

Trust me, just this once!

Somehow, when Sienna caught Westley's gaze, her heart skipped a beat.

His eyes were as clear and piercing as a pristine mountain spring, compelling an unwavering belief.

Unexpectedly, she released her hold on Westley's wrist.

Westley then inserted a needle into an acupoint on the elderly man's abdomen, penetrating over two inches deep.

He was well-versed in this particular technique.

After a brief three seconds, Westley lightly tapped the end of the needle with his pinky finger.

A deep hum emanated from the needle, a sound that seemed almost magical.

With a burst of energy, Westley swiftly inserted three more needles.

The Four Seal Needles!

With these needles sealing his Qi, the old man was bound to survive.

The subsequent three needles were crucial for his recovery.

The spasms in the old man's body ceased, his hands relaxed, and his previously purple complexion began to regain a healthy flush.

"Look, the old man looks much better now."

"Indeed, it's truly miraculous."

"Could this be the prowess of traditional Chinese medicine?"

"It has to be! This person is definitely a master!"

As these murmurs filled the air, Morio's face soured.

He became visibly uncertain.

Was Westley really that skilled?

The one with the most conflicted emotions was undoubtedly Sienna.

Being closest to the old man, she had a firsthand view of his remarkable recovery.

The man's body, once chillingly cold, was now warming, and his vital signs visibly improved.

"Did I judge him wrongly?" Sienna wondered, filled with remorse.

At that moment, Westley's expression was no longer light-hearted but intensely serious.

The atmosphere grew charged with tension.

The crowd was drawn to Westley's every move, almost as if by a magnetic pull.

Those recording the scene were particularly attentive, holding their breaths, careful not to disturb Westley's precise needling.

When a skilled individual demonstrates tangible results, it convinces others of their formidable capabilities.

Now, there was a growing belief among the onlookers that Westley might indeed possess the skill to save the old man's life.

Taking a deep breath, Westley prepared to target the acupuncture point three inches below the elder's navel.

This point was critical, a vital spot in the human body.

Too heavy a needle could cause the elder's blood to flow too rapidly, leading to vessel dilation and a fatal hemorrhage from all orifices.

Too light, and it could block the elder's life force, resulting in organ failure and irreversible damage.

It was a delicate balance.

As Westley's silver needle hovered over the elder's point, a shrill whistle shattered the quiet.

Westley's brow creased slightly as he looked up.

An ambulance had pulled up before the crowd.

The doors swung open, and an emergency doctor, a nurse, and two attendants with a stretcher hopped out.

Upon spotting Morio, they called out, "Dr. Chen."

"Yes, I've managed to stabilize the patient's condition," Morio responded promptly.

"Dr. Chen's medical expertise is unparalleled. With you here, this man is surely in safe hands."

The nurse flashed Morio a thumbs-up, sending a covert flirtatious glance his way.

"What's happening?" Westley inquired.

"I called the hospital before starting the rescue, asking them to send an ambulance," Morio explained matter-of-factly.

"But I'm not done treating him," Westley said, his frown deepening.

"That's not my concern! Saving lives is the hospital's duty. We can't just leave this old man in peril," Morio declared, unabashed.

Westley's recent acupuncture had taken Morio by surprise.

Recalling his earlier words only added to Morio's discomfort.

Though skeptical of Westley's ability to heal, Morio wasn't willing to gamble.

Should Westley actually succeed, how embarrassing would that be for him?

Absolutely not!

Morio would not let that scenario unfold!

Thus, the ambulance's arrival was perfectly timed.

He could now seize the moment.

"Dr. Chen, Westley hasn't finished yet. Please, wait a bit longer," Sienna chimed in from the side.

At this moment, her trust in Westley was beginning to tip the scales.

"There's no way I'll allow this. If you persist in your delusion, I'm calling the police," Morio warned, his face set in a firm threat.

To the voluptuous beauty, my apologies!

While beauty is appealing, reputation is paramount!

Morio vowed that today, he would ensure Westley was utterly humiliated!
