C26 You're Talking Nonsense!

Inside the morgue, Westley let out a faint sigh of relief after completing the acupuncture treatment. His forehead was beaded with sweat, and his clothes were soaked through. The Heaven Opening Needle Technique he had just performed had drained a significant amount of Spiritual Energy. Moreover, having recently recovered from a serious illness and not yet having properly consolidated his Dantian Spiritual Energy, this session with the Fate Needle had nearly depleted his stamina.

"I need to start making money to buy medicine soon," Westley thought as he cleaned the silver needles. He glanced back at the elderly patient whose breathing was now steady, his complexion rosy, and the Penetrating Carbuncle on his back had vanished without a trace. "He'll probably wake up in a few minutes. It's too cold in here for him. I should move him outside."

With that thought, Westley wheeled the gurney carrying the old man to a safe and visible spot just outside the door before quietly departing.

The atmosphere in the consultation room was tense. Reeve couldn't come to terms with the news of his father's passing. His father had been well that morning; how could he be gone by the afternoon? His eyes red with restrained sorrow, he asked in a grave tone, "How did my father die?"

"Your father passed away from a heart attack. We did everything we could to revive him, but to no avail," Morio explained hastily.

"You're lying!" Reeve's eyes narrowed as he seized Morio by the collar. Despite his refined appearance, his grip was shockingly strong, lifting Morio's heavy frame slightly off the ground. "My father never had heart problems, only previous episodes of epilepsy. Did you misdiagnose and cause my father's death?" Reeve's voice boomed with each deliberate word.

Hearing this, Morio was thrown into a state of panic. The old man didn't die from a heart attack? He had epilepsy? So, was everything that man said true?

"Mr. Tang, please hear me out. I'm not to blame for this. After your father collapsed, it wasn't me who initially treated him, but someone else. He used needles on your father several times," Morio stammered, his voice tinged with desperation.

"Oh?" Reeve released his grip.

Morio could finally breathe again, and in that moment, he felt the world was a truly wonderful place.

But first, he had to navigate the immediate challenge.

"Mr. Freeman, here's what happened..."

Morio then recounted the entire incident.

Naturally, in his telling, he cast himself as the hero, the messenger of justice who rushed to aid Elder Freeman the moment he collapsed.

But then, Westley appeared out of nowhere, boasting that he was the reincarnation of the Godly Doctor, and began inserting needles into the elder's body.

Seeing the dire situation, Morio intervened with righteous indignation and swiftly transported the elder to the hospital.

Tragically, Westley's needling was too harsh, and the elder's life slipped away.

This fabrication was nearly impeccable!

"The actions of this man, Westley, are utterly infuriating. It's heartbreaking that poor Elder Freeman met such an untimely and senseless death," Morio lamented, tears streaming down his face.

He couldn't help but admire his own acting prowess and shrewdness.

With just a few words, he had absolved himself of all blame and conveniently shifted it onto Westley.

I am truly a genius!

"Is that the truth?" Reeve asked, his eyes narrowing to a cold glare.

"Every word of it. I stake my reputation on it," Morio declared earnestly.

Benjamin chimed in, "Director Freeman, Dr. O'Brien here is a distinguished protégé of our deputy director, with notable medical expertise. I trust he's not lying."

"Yes, Director Freeman. I am Morio's mentor, and I have considerable faith in his character," Ledford added his support.

"This Westley is the murderer of my father."

Reeve spoke through his grief, "Everyone, leave and find this killer. At any cost, bring him before me! I want to confront him personally and find out what vendetta he has against the Freeman family!"

By the end, his voice was a roar, like that of an enraged lion.

"Yes, sir!"

His seven or eight subordinates bowed and responded in unison.

Witnessing the scene, Morio breathed a sigh of relief.

That was a close call!

If it weren't for Westley taking the fall, I fear I would've been beaten to death!

Benjamin quickly approached and urged Reeve to grieve with dignity and accept the inevitable.

Suddenly, a nurse burst into the room, exclaiming, "Director! It's terrible, there's a ghost in the morgue!"

"Rubbish!"

Benjamin was furious, "We have a distinguished guest, what nonsense are you spouting? It's broad daylight; what ghosts or gods could there be?"

The nurse insisted, "It's true! Everyone just saw it. An old man, who was declared dead, rose from the morgue."

Reeve, deep in sorrow, suddenly widened his eyes and exclaimed, "Is it Sayeed?"

"Yes! His name is Sayeed," the nurse confirmed, nodding frantically.

"Quick! Take me to him!" Reeve was ecstatic.

Benjamin and Ledford exchanged a glance before dashing out.

Morio paused to think, then quickly followed suit.

A group of them hurried toward the morgue.

A gaunt old man sat on the bed, muttering, "My benefactor, I must see my benefactor. I must thank him for saving my life!"

Seeing this, Reeve lunged forward, crying out, "Dad!"

Like a child, Reeve couldn't stop wiping away tears.

"Stop crying, I'm not dead," Sayeed said irritably.

"But the doctor said you..."

Reeve, feeling a sense of foreboding, swiftly changed the subject, "But Dad, who's the benefactor you're talking about?"

"The one who saved my life. I must thank him face to face," Sayeed explained.

"We must certainly express our profound gratitude for saving a life," Reeve agreed, nodding.

Morio, blending into the crowd, heard this and his heart leaped with joy.

He burst from the crowd and ran to Sayeed, exclaiming, "Uncle, you're finally awake. I've been so worried!"

His excitement was palpable, as if he was greeting his own grandfather.

"Who are you?" Sayeed inquired.

"Don't you remember me? I'm the one who brought you to the hospital. And then, I performed the resuscitation!" Morio explained eagerly.

His strategy was ingenious.

If Sayeed acknowledged Morio as his savior, then surely his future was set for rapid success.

How come my luck is so incredible today?

But to everyone's surprise, Sayeed's expression turned icy as he watched Morio speak.

Without warning, he lifted his arm and delivered a fierce slap.

The sound of the slap echoed throughout the hospital.

Morio, clutching his cheek, was frozen in shock.

What's the meaning of this?

I'm the one who saved your life, and you hit me?

"Nonsense!"

Sayeed, pointing directly at Morio's nose, launched into a tirade of expletives.
