C3 Yesterday's Ghost
"DEFEAT"
They dropped their cell phones, and I watched as my classmates scolded each other. They were playing Mobile Legends, and it looked like they had lost one after another. They repent and teach why they lost. I just shook my head because of the noise they made.
"Liz, can I have a taste?"
Xia screamed for attention when Liz arrived, holding a frappe. Liz diverted her hand when her friend intended to grab her.
"What a shame. You said you would pee, and when you returned, you had a frappe!"
"Duh! Comfort room is the new definition of Cafeteria," she playfully replied and let her friend sip on it.
"Guys, quiet! Our class representative will arrive in a few seconds."
My classmates immediately returned to their seats. It must have been an angel who entered because they were quiet when Jake, our President, arrived. It's good because I could hear the noise earlier. I was already annoyed; my classmates hadn't gotten along yet.
"Announcement!" He started. "Our Reading and Writing instructor is absent, but there is—"
Before Jake finished his speech, my classmates suddenly began to cry. Some others jumped up and threw their things. We are like animals that have been released from the cage. My head just got hotter because I hadn't slept yet. Didn't put me to sleep with... oh, never mind!
"Please review your vocabulary words; there is a quiz next meeting."
"He won't remember about that anymore," one of my classmates shouted, and because of that, we all laughed in unison.
Most of my classmates were noisy. I got up and thought of just sleeping in the library.
"Tatiana?" I was about to open the door when Jake called my name. His forehead was furrowed as if he was asking where I was going.
"I will finish something at the library," I said. He gave me a library pass before leaving because they might see me roaming around outside the room premises during class hours. That is strictly prohibited in our University.
I couldn't hide my smile as I arrived at the library when the librarian was sleeping.
I went to the corner, got down, and closed my eyes. I feel sleepy, but I can't sleep. I was disgusted with myself because I had planned to sleep earlier and still plan to. I salute some people who close their eyes and fall asleep immediately.
I closed my eyes and tried to sleep. I just closed my eyes, but my spirit was still really awake.
I suddenly felt nervous and restless because someone was watching me. I looked up and saw the face of a familiar man. I can't see much because my vision is still blurry, caused by closing my eyes for a long time.
I was about to fall. My breathing seemed to stop for a while. My eyes widened as I saw his handsome face.
"How's your sleep, Ms. Kiss and Run?" He gave me a silly grin.
He reached for the table and put his elbow over it. We got closer. I can smell his perfume. As we were so close, I stared at his face even more. He had black hair, sharp and dark eyes, thick eyebrows, a pointed nose, and kissable lips—
I immediately backed away. I stopped what I was doing and bit my lower lip. I saw a twinkle of amusement in his eyes, but he kept his face straight.
"Are you stalking me?" I asked as I raised one of my eyebrows.
Instead of answering my question, he laughed loudly as if teasing. His laugh echoed through the entire room. With the force of his laughter, the librarian woke up. It looked at us and signaled for us to be quiet.
Carrying my things, I quickly walked away from him. I continued walking towards the rooftop. I can still feel his presence.
"Excuse me." I stopped walking and faced him.
"Alright, let's go."
"Are you following me?" I asked again.
"Am I?" he answered, raising one of his eyebrows. I was even more annoyed when he also responded to my question with a question. I ignored him and continued.
I was restless when I reached the rooftop. I'm sure this man is planning something. I was debating whether I should stay or leave to return to the classroom.
"Small world, right?" Then he smirked at me. I just ignored him and distanced myself a little. But he also moved closer to me.
"What do you want?" I asked again.
"You." I was stuck in my place. His answer was straightforward, but it impacted me significantly. What is happening to me?
"We need to talk about something," he added. His previously playful face became serious.
"What is that?"
"You just stole my first kiss." It's a grumble that makes me laugh. I almost laugh because of his expression; he looks like a child robbed of candy.
"Don't act as if it's your first," I replied irritatedly. I stood up and thought of just going back to the classroom because I wouldn't get any benefit from it either.
"It is!"
"Impossible! A guy like you," I said while checking it up and down. "For sure, you've been kissed a lot. So don't act like that's something special. It's just a kiss."
"Awww!" He replied and put his hand over his chest. "You're hurting my ego, darling."
"Even if it's not my first, it doesn't change the fact that you stole a kiss from me." He walked in my direction. I backed away from his continued approach.
"Do you usually kiss a stranger?" His face was serious. He continued to step on me while I backed away. I took a step back until I felt my back against the wall.
"W-why?" I stuttered. He didn't speak at first and just continued walking. He pinned me against the wall. Our eyes met. I don't particularly
appreciate where it's headed.
He smirked. "Don't. I'm jealous."
Oh, kill me already. This is already hell with the demon by my side.
I jokingly pushed him to create distance between us. I grabbed that opportunity to escape from him.
I heard his loud laughter as I was going down the stairs. Gosh!
I hope this is the last time we have met.
