C4 Blockmates
"Tatiana, did you review?" Vettinah asked as I entered the classroom.
"I skimmed our notes a bit," I replied. I didn't do much of a review because I was lazy, so I just made a good trip and eventually fell asleep.
I put down my things, took out the journal, and sat down. I tried my best to focus and to review my notes.
We looked up at Ernisha, who had also just arrived. She is not wearing her glasses because her boyfriend doesn't want them. We don't like his girlfriend because he tries changing our friend. That's wrong because if you love someone, you should accept them from head to toe.
"Ernisha, did you review?" I asked.
"No." She looked at us for a moment before returning his gaze to the cell phone. She was probably texting her boyfriend again.
Ernisha is smart. She can ace the exams without reviewing; she needs to be more active, especially when doing projects and requirements. She said she likes it more during rush hour. And one more thing, her boyfriend is a bad influence on her. They are always fighting, so she often prioritizes wooing over doing schoolwork.
"By the way, you're smart. I'll copy your answers again." I jokingly replied, but she just shrugged.
"Don't be stupid. Hey! Let's split up. The last part is yours." She tried to give me his journal, but I didn't accept it.
Finding the derivatives of trigonometric functions is complex and somewhat complicated. Well, sometimes it's easy. It's just confusing and confusing.
But the good thing is that we are in the Chemistry Lab during Chemistry and Calculus class. Besides the fact that we're around the table, it's pretty tight here, so it's easy to copy. Lengthen the neck, enlarge the eyes and heal the approach.
I looked up when Cassandra grabbed my journal. She was panting and seemed to catch her breath.
"Is this a journal, Tatiana, or a drawing book?"
It laughed insultingly as it flipped through my journal. "You shouldn't have done STEM. You should have done Arts and Design instead." I ignored her and just let her tease my journal.
It has been a week since my rooftop encounter with him. We never met again or crossed paths. That's in my favor because I don't want to be with or see him. I can't bear him and his attitude. He's too silly and playful. I'm afraid I might fall for his trap and repeat the same mistake I made.
Vettinah stopped reading. She brought the chair closer to me.
"Is the gossip true? They say Leo will be our classmate!" she said with a hint of excitement.
"Leo, who?" I frowned and asked him.
She rolled her eyes before answering, "Duh! He's the new member of the varsity!"
I just shrugged. As long as he's terrific, his radar is strong.
Wearing a simple white button-down shirt paired with suit pants, Engineer Olvido entered the room. We greeted him good morning.
He gives a lot of reminders about our long quiz. I don't listen because his voice irritates me. He just continued speaking, but he suddenly caught my attention when he mentioned Leo, the one Vettinah was talking about earlier. I hope he's legitimately handsome so I like him at least a little.
"Let's wait for Mr. Soriano. He'll be your classmate during my subject." The class was filled with murmurs.
"Excuse me, sir. Sorry, I'm late." I froze for a while. His voice is familiar! I can't be wrong.
I slowly lifted my gaze and saw him looking at me intently.
"Rogelio Soriano III." A simple and bold introduction. He didn't take his eyes off me even though Engineer was still talking to him.
"So it's nice to see you again," he said. Here he sat next to me. You are nice there. It's not so lovely, are you the devil next to you?
"Are you saying something, Miss?"
"No, I said you're stupid."
"Handsome?"
"Stupid!"
He spoke a word for word, but I didn't pay attention to him anymore. He will take care of his life. Did he move here to annoy me? Well, he succeeded because I was so annoyed with him!
I was completely covered in my paper when our quiz started. I was only halfway there when I felt his friction pen fall. I looked at his answer sheet, and because of the given difficulty, he couldn't finish it right away.
"Don't copy my last name; I might suddenly present you at the altar today." I ignored him and tried to focus on my paper.
I bit my lower lip because I wasn't confident in my answers. I caught Leo grinning like an idiot.
"Okay, class. Who can go on the board to find the derivative for the last item? I need a girl and a boy representative," Engineer Olvido announced.
I confidently raised my right hand. I was surprised when he also presented a hand.
"As expected," said Engineer.
I can smell victory. He's just embarrassing himself. I know I'm smarter than him based on his looks and personality.
I stood up, and so did he.
I'm just smiling because I'm confident I can answer it correctly. I solved it, and so did he. We need to find the derivative of a trigonometric function if y= sin(3x)sec(3x).
We got the same answer: 3sec(3x)^2, but I finished before him.
I walked back to my seat; I also felt his obedience.
"Mr. Soriano got it correctly. Congratulations! The entire class cheered for him. I was about to complain because we had the same answer, but I was surprised to see that my answer was different.
That bastard deleted the 3 in front!
"I'm sorry, Ms. Corsanes, but you forgot to differentiate the inner part of the equation."
Maybe he just copied me; then he deleted my answer.
"Did you like it? It's awesome, right?" He's grinning from ear to ear, which annoys me even more. What's fantastic there? It would be even more awesome if I kicked him to Pluto.
"Whatever! Talk to my hand."
He smirked and shook his head. He even mimicked how other people talked about him.
He must be enjoying this moment.
I just let him. I ignored him even though he spoke word for word. I don't hear anything.
Vettinah hit me after class. We have a half-day today but must attend the organizational meeting.
"Ouch! What was that for?" I asked.
"I saw you were flirting," she said while laughing.
I rolled my eyes because I knew she was referring to that bustard.
"Have you guys met before? It seems like you know each other." I just shrugged and ignored what she said.
"You know, let's go. We're late," I invited them, trying to change the topic and divert their attention.
Our meeting with the organization ended quickly. It wasn't fascinating, so I didn't listen much.
"Guys, there's a new cafe opening in—"
"Pass," we said simultaneously because Cassandra was demonizing us again to spend. In the group, he's always late for the conversation, but he's gallant in the show.
"Don't be silly. I'm free, okay?"
She rolled her eyes and pulled us out of the campus.
"Wow!" I said to myself as we arrived at Tsai Tea Station, the newly opened café near Gomez Street. The minimal design is eye-catching. The place is small but fair enough to fit 10-15 people.
I ordered a Belgian waffle with Okinawa milk tea. I was craving this because I was too lazy to spend.
While waiting, I took a picture of the place and uploaded it on my Instagram story. The area's aura is beautiful, fresh, and relaxing to the eyes. I found out that the owner himself painted and designed the place.
But I suddenly raised my eyebrow because of what I saw.
rogeliosoriano started following you.
