C13 Young Master There's a Guest
Knowing they wouldn't be back for a while, everyone at home started making new plans. After breakfast, Chi Yu hugged his little sister and headed to work.
Chi Pinghai watched from the side, feeling a bit envious. He maneuvered his wheelchair over to his daughter and extended his arms, asking, "Xin, want a hug from Dad?"
Little Ruixin obediently opened her arms, letting Chi Pinghai lift her onto his lap. Not sure how to entertain his daughter, the clueless dad decided to turn his wheelchair into a bumper car, playfully bumping around the house. He wasn't going too fast, but it was enough to make Little Ruixin burst into a bright smile.
Chi Hann, perched on the couch to avoid getting hit, rested his chin on his hand. Maybe they could set up a bumper car track in the yard?
Half an hour later, Chi Hann couldn't hold back any longer. He jumped off the couch and blocked the wheelchair, saying, "Dad, it's my turn!"
Chi Pinghai looked at his youngest son, holding his daughter a bit tighter, and said with a hint of disdain, "With that blue hair of yours, I really do feel like swapping."
"The old man doesn't get fashion. This super cool misty blue is all the rage with young people now. Not everyone can pull it off, you know?"
Then he crouched down to his sister's eye level and asked, "Xin, doesn't your brother look super cool like this?"
Little Ruixin blinked, then smiled with her eyes crinkling, nodding in agreement. "Cool!"
Chi Hann proudly pulled her into his arms for a quick kiss and said to his dad, "Dad, you should get going. I know you're busy!"
"You rascal!"
Chi Pinghai did have some things to take care of. After a playful scold, he waved to his wife and asked, "Want to come with me?"
"Of course, I do."
Yunwan's eyes turned cold. She wanted to see what the person who mistreated her daughter looked like.
Before heading out, they made sure to remind Chi Hann to keep a close eye on his sister. Little Ruixin, knowing they were leaving, hesitated while holding onto her brother's pant leg.
Finally, with their patient and encouraging looks, she gathered the courage to give each of them a hug.
Every time she saw the neighbor's family sharing hugs whether leaving or coming home, she felt a pang of envy. Once, the neighbor told her that hugs could recharge a person. Back then, with no one to hug her, she would imagine her brother's smiling face and hug herself to feel energized.
After receiving warm and sweet responses from her parents, Little Ruixin decided she could always give hugs like this from now on!
Yunwan gently pinched her daughter's little ear and said, "When I get back, I'll bring you a cupcake!"
Once the two authoritative figures left the house, Chi Hann felt a surge of confidence. Holding his little sister, he headed to the living room, not caring about the convenience of the others, and started a group video chat with his triplet brothers.
No one responded.
"Whatever," Chi Hann muttered, resting his chin on his sister's head. He whispered, "Xin, when your third and fourth brothers come back, don't pay them any attention."
Why not?
Little Ruixin had already learned from her eldest brother that she had five brothers, three of whom were triplets, though they didn't look much alike.
Without needing her to ask, Chi Hann explained, "They're ignoring us now, but when they come back, they'll be the ones trying to get on our good side!"
Little Ruixin, who hadn't received much education, didn't quite grasp what her brother meant, but she nodded obediently in his arms. She didn't understand what her brother was saying, but she believed he was right!
"Young Master Hann, we have guests," Zhou Tai announced politely after greeting the visitors, then headed to the kitchen to prepare refreshments.
