C19 Have You Contacted Second Brother?
Chi Hann, who was playing video games at home, suddenly sneezed, catching the attention of Little Ruixin, who was building blocks nearby. She walked over, touched her brother's forehead, and then compared it to her own. "Not warm," she thought.
Chi Hann grabbed his sister's hand and kissed her palm. "Don't worry, your handsome brother is fine. Maybe some pretty girl is thinking about me," he joked.
Little Ruixin nodded in agreement, but Chi Xi, who couldn't stand it anymore, picked her up and brought her back to the blocks. His slow, lazy drawl carried his unique charm, "Don't listen to him. He's probably in trouble."
"Can you read, Xin? Want your brother to teach you?" Chi Xi suddenly thought of this.
Little Ruixin shook her head, looking at him with eager eyes. She wanted to learn!
Chi Hann paused his game and scooted over, pointing at himself. "Look at me, Baby Xin. I graduated from a top high school and am attending a great college!"
"Why are you covering Xin's ears?" Chi Xi asked.
"So your words don't dirty her ears," Chi Xi replied, hugging his sister. "I've taken two weeks off and can teach you a lot, but Chi Hann is leaving tomorrow, so he can't."
"Who says I can't? I can teach through video calls!" Chi Hann protested.
The brothers began to argue over who would be Little Ruixin's teacher. The butler, ever dutiful, recorded the scene and thoughtfully brought them water, along with a box of milk for Little Ruixin.
“Mr. Zhou, aren't you playing favorites here?”
Chi Hann wrinkled his nose while sipping cold water.
“Would you like some milk, Young Master Hann?”
“No, thanks.”
Chi Hann looked disgusted.
Little Ruixin held the milk carton with both hands and offered it to her brother.
“Here, brother, drink.”
“Aww, my little sweetheart cares about me~”
Chi Hann pretended to cry, then laughed and patted her head. “Good girl, I was just kidding. I don’t really want any.”
After drinking the milk, Little Ruixin started to feel sleepy. Her head bobbed a bit before she fell asleep in her fourth brother’s arms.
Chi Xi was momentarily surprised, then gently adjusted her and took a small blanket from the butler to cover her.
Watching their sister sleep, both brothers couldn’t help but smile softly, a stark contrast to their usual demeanor.
“Hey...”
Chi Hann began quietly.
“What?”
“Have you contacted our second brother?”
Mentioning their second brother made Chi Xi’s expression turn cold. He looked down at his sister, gently touching her slightly dry hair, and said, “No.”
“Should we try reaching out?”
“It’s up to you.”
In fact, the butler had already tried contacting him, but it was unclear if he had seen the message or if he would even respond.
“After all, he is our second brother...”
Chi Hann was conflicted. No one could be blamed for what happened back then, but their second brother was the one with their sister that day, which made it a bit...
When it first happened, he blamed his older brother. But as time passed and he matured, he realized his brother's pain was just as deep, if not deeper. Now that their sister has been found, Chi Hann hopes his brother will come back to see her and give her a hug. It's time to stop feeling guilty.
"Then you get in touch."
Chi Xi clearly didn't want to continue the conversation. As he stood up, he asked the butler, "Mr. Zhou, could you please take me to Xin's room?"
"Of course."
With that, Chi Hann was left alone in the living room. He ran his hand through his hair in frustration, making it a mess, and then dialed his brother's number. The phone barely rang before it was answered. The voice on the other end sounded exhausted, "What's up?"
"Big brother, Xin..."
