The butler, just as excited by the conversation he overheard, arranged for a car, knowing she was in no state to drive herself.

The Chi family couple rushed to the downtown hospital. Once they found out which room it was, they burst right in!

Little Ruixin was sitting quietly on Chi Yu's lap, listening to him talk about family matters, when the loud sound of the door opening startled her, causing her to burrow into his embrace.

Chi Yu quickly held her close and, upon seeing who had entered, said helplessly, “Mom, Dad, you scared Xin.”

“I’m sorry...” Yunwan apologized instinctively.

She stepped forward unsteadily, her heart breaking at the sight of her daughter’s white hair and unnaturally pale skin. “What happened to my precious girl?” she choked out.

There was no need for a DNA test or even to see her face; she trusted the subtle pull in her heart. This was her Xin, the daughter who had been stolen from her!

As Chi Yu gently stroked Little Ruixin’s hair to comfort her, he explained the situation, leaving both parents heartbroken.

That couple would never see the light of day outside prison again!

Chi Pinghai was already considering pulling some strings to ensure the people who mistreated his daughter got what they deserved.

The earlier commotion had already frightened Little Ruixin, so they dared not approach too quickly. They could only stand a few steps away, their hearts full of emotion, watching longingly.

Once Little Ruixin calmed down, Chi Yu gently stroked her hair and said, "Xin, don't be afraid. These are your mom and dad."

The two mentioned immediately straightened up, swallowing nervously and discreetly tidying their clothes, feeling incredibly tense.

Ruixin trusted Chi Yu, and she didn't sense any malice from the newcomers, so she quietly glanced over at them.

Just showing a small part of her face made Lau Yunwan cover her mouth, tears streaming down her face.

Chi Pinghai's eyes reddened, his fists clenched tightly as he tried to suppress his emotions, reminding himself not to scare the child.

Ruixin didn't expect her actions to upset them so much. Feeling a bit lost, she grabbed her brother's wrist and looked up at him.

"Dad and Mom are just so happy to see you, Xin. Why don't you go comfort them and tell them not to cry, okay?"

Chi Yu always phrased his questions in a way that gave her the space to make her own decisions.

Ruixin nestled back into her brother's arms, thinking it over.

Just when they thought their little one wouldn't respond, she slid off her brother's lap and took small steps toward them.

She first looked at Chi Pinghai, then at Lau Yunwan, who was still in tears. After some hesitation, she timidly placed a hand on Chi Pinghai's knee and tugged at the hem of Lau Yunwan's dress with her other hand.

Lau Yunwan couldn't hold back any longer. She crouched down, embracing the person tightly, tears streaming down her face.

Seeing this, Chi Yu quickly said, "Mom, be gentle. Xin has injuries!"

Hearing this, Yunwan immediately loosened her grip, carefully pulling back the collar to check the back, then rolling up Little Ruixin's sleeves. The sight of those bruises made her heart ache with anger.

"How could those jerks treat my darling like this!"

Noticing Little Ruixin flinch, Yunwan realized her voice had been too loud. She quickly softened her tone, "Don't be scared, sweetheart. Mom's angry at the bad people, not at you."

Little Ruixin looked up at her, finding her even more beautiful than the biggest stars on TV. She was so gentle...

Yunwan, choking back tears, met Little Ruixin's gaze. Her little darling was exceptionally beautiful, though too thin, with large silver-gray eyes.

Her long, curled white eyelashes still held tears from the recent scare, like fragile ice beads on a winter morning flower.
