C13 Are You an Idiot?

"Master... Master! "

The old man's revelation reverberated through the crowd like a shockwave, leaving everyone in utter disbelief.

Lin Feiyan was particularly stunned, her eyes widening as though they might burst from their sockets.

Only moments before, she had ridiculed Mu Chen for his apparent inability to afford even a single tire. Yet here was the owner of twenty luxury Phantoms, proclaiming Mu Chen to be his master.

The irony was as swift as a slap across her face, leaving a sting she couldn't ignore.

At this juncture, Lin Yuyan stared blankly at Mu Chen, her mind a complete void, unable to process the unfolding reality.

"Old man, could you be mistaken?" Lin Feiyan spat out through clenched teeth, her voice quivering. "This man is nothing but a freeloader, a waste of space. How could he possibly be your master?"

She refused to believe otherwise.

As she finished her sentence, the elder man in the Tang suit slowly lifted his gaze to meet Lin Feiyan's eyes,

an icy indifference settling in his features.

"Anyone who insults their master shall be met with no mercy. No exceptions."

His voice was chilling to the bone.

Instantly.

Lin Feiyan felt a surge of cold rush up her spine as if touched by the gaze of the Grim Reaper himself.

The old man's eyes seemed to be bottomless pits, pulling her into an abyss from which there was no return.

She couldn't shake the feeling that another word would spell her doom.

"Cough!"

Mu Chen cleared his throat, causing the old man's ominous aura to evaporate.

"Mu Chen, what's going on? Why did he call you 'Master'?"

Lin Yuyan, finally recovering from her initial shock, tugged at Mu Chen's sleeve.

"It's okay," Mu Chen reassured her. "It's likely because of Murong Feng. I used to spend a lot of time at their house, so they regard me as a master of sorts."

He had not anticipated Murong Feng's appearance today, and he couldn't help but feel a little vexed.

"Let's go!"

With a sense of dissatisfaction lingering, Mu Chen walked toward the central phantom, all under the watchful, envious eyes of the crowd.

The old man followed, careful not to even breathe too heavily.

Boom!

Suddenly, all twenty phantoms started simultaneously, emitting sounds akin to the roars of wild beasts. In the blink of an eye, they vanished.

"Hu!"

The tension was too much for Lin Feiyan; she slumped to the ground, emotionally and physically drained.

… ….

The Rolls-Royce Phantom.

"Murong Feng, you better give me an acceptable explanation!"

Mu Chen's expression was icy. He had warned Murong Feng multiple times to maintain a low profile and not to disclose his true identity.

But today, the arrival of the grand fleet of Phantoms had nearly compromised him.

Hall... Hall Master! I realize my mistake!"

Murong Feng, sensing Mu Chen's anger, was so frightened he almost knelt down inside the vehicle to beg for forgiveness.

Taking a moment to compose himself, Mu Chen spoke, "This is Ye Tian, the Vice Hallmaster of Dragon King Hall. He's also one of China's top ten tycoons and incredibly resourceful. The Palace Master directed him to investigate matters regarding the Mu family in the capital."

Dragon King's Palace Vice Hallmaster?

Mu Chen frowned slightly. He was familiar with the organizational structure of the Dragon King's Palace, which was divided into three realms, six residences, and seventy-two generals, each given respective titles.

But a Vice Hallmaster?

He had never heard of such a position before.

It seemed Ye Tian must be more significant than Murong Feng, though not by much.

"Please forgive us, Hallmaster! These twenty Phantoms are the bare minimum required for my travels."

Ye Tian interjected, his previous solemnity replaced by a goofy grin as he rubbed his bald head.

Twenty Phantoms as the 'minimum configuration'?

Mu Chen couldn't help but roll his eyes at the absurdity.

"Alright!" This time, I will not pursue the matter.

"Tell me the news on the capital's Mu Family!"

The moment Mu Chen heard the mention of the capital's Mu Family, his eyes turned icy cold.

He remembered the betrayal that led to his own mother severing his hand tendons and casting him out.

To make matters worse, he had been pursued relentlessly by his twin brother over thousands of miles.

Had it not been for the old Daoist he encountered, he would have been reduced to a pile of bones by now.

"Yes!" Hall Master! "

Ye Tian, sensing Mu Chen's chilling gaze, hastily handed him a meticulously prepared file. "Hall Master," he said respectfully.

"Interesting! "Interesting!"

Mu Chen skimmed through the file, his eyes narrowing. "My good brother has leukemia, and only my bone marrow is a match. I suspect they've already dispatched people to find me in Chuyang City, haven't they?"

Mu Chen sneered.

Ka-cha! *

The steel armrest was crushed!

Murong Feng and Ye Tian were paralyzed by fear, standing stock-still like statues.

Hall Master...

How fierce!

"Ye Tian, well done!"

"Listen carefully," Mu Chen instructed, "Once you return to the capital, monitor any activity from the Mu Family. If they send anyone to Chuyang City, I want to be informed immediately."

Mu Chen instructed coldly.

"Yes sir!"

Ye Tian sensed Mu Chen's approval and felt elated. He immediately clasped his hands together and nodded, accepting the order with zeal.

Switching gears, Mu Chen looked at Murong Feng and asked, "How many villas are there on Cloud Peak?"

Recalling what Lin Yuyan had shared with him about her dream earlier in the day, a hint of affection appeared on Mu Chen's face.

Murong Feng quickly responded, "From the base to the peak, Cloud Peak has six levels. The first five levels each contain four buildings, making a total of twenty buildings. Altogether, there are twenty-one buildings on Cloud Peak."

The value of a villa atop Cloud Peak is conservatively estimated at 100 million, and the one at the very peak recently sold for an astronomical 300 million," Murong Feng said, his voice tinged with authority.

He had done extensive research on the subject.

"Ah, interesting. Then go ahead and purchase the Cloud Peak villa. My wife has taken a liking to it."

Mu Chen replied nonchalantly.

"Of course, hall master! Which one would you like to acquire? As the Palace Master, only the crown jewel at the peak would be fitting for you."

Murong Feng replied respectfully.

"Which one?"

Mu Chen shot Murong Feng a quizzical look as if looking at a child.

"Are you not understanding me?"

I meant to buy all the villas atop Cloud Peak!"
