C7 Cotton candy

He was very disappointed with how Marco ignored his invitation. Maybe things are different now between the two of them. He's not the best friend he's known for a long time. He's not the same person he was with years ago. It broke his heart that he had assumed that they would be friends forever. Amanda could be the catalyst for all of this. Marco loved her so much, he knew it. The way he looked at her eyes.

It's really frustrating that the woman you wanted to be yours will not end up with you, and it will never be yours because she was already owned by your best friend.

Harry wanted to regret that he never returned to Amanda's place on those days that he had to. He became selfish for taking Amanda's wish for granted the night that she whispered to him that she wanted to be free from her cage. Harry still remembers her soft voice; it was like a lullaby.

He missed her so badly, but what was he going to do now?

Now that Amanda is back but not in his arms.

"My God, Harry! I've been looking for you all over your building. What are you doing here at the children's park?" Dina speaks, irritated.

He ignored her. In fact, he wanted to be alone even now. He wanted to get away from the problems that his secretary would give him most of the time. He was newly hired because his former secretary resigned for being incapable of doing the job. He was stressed about his new secretary. Apart from the fact that she had a lot of neglected work, she was also trying so hard to get his attention. She tried to act like a cute baby girl. He really wanted to fire her, but he had no one to replace her. It will take time to hire a new one.

"Why the heck you always want to be by my side?" He asked her directly.

"I know, Dina, you want me to go out with you and pretend to be your boyfriend." You know it will never happen, even if you help me with the mess in my company." He continued.

The Monteverde family helped with the problems in his business. Somehow, their business is booming with their help. But he could not give them what they asked for in return for their help.

"Don't be too harsh on me, Harry. I'm here because Dad wants to introduce you to his friends. I think it will help you if you are linked with them," she said, and picked up the phone in her bag.

"Hello, Dad; yes, Harry is accompanying me."

He was shocked by what she said. He hadn't even decided yet.

He did not want to be indebted to the Monteverdes because he knew they would charge him for all the help they had given him that day. Even though Dina's father is close to his father, he is still not convinced that they are really good people, especially when it comes to money.

After Dina introduced her to her daddy's friends, who were happy that they talked about their businesses, one of them even offered to invest a large amount in New Horizon. Dina's dad told them about his businesses, so he became interested in investing. He heard Dina's father saying only good things about him. He was aware that it made his name famous among his friends. And he also knew what else he would say next.

"If Dina and Harry are getting married soon, you are all invited to the wedding. I won't accept excuses," he said, then looked slightly at Harry as if to say that he agreed with what he said.

"Yes, we will get married soon. Right, Harry? "

Dina took part, and that was good because they might notice that Dina's Daddy was lying.

He just nodded and then whispered to Dina, "What about this all about Dina? Are we going to lie to your Daddy's friends?"

Dina cleared her throat and got up from her seat.

"We really want to have a long talk with you guys, but Harry and I have a date today. Is it okay if we go ahead?" She said while holding Harry's hand.

They nodded at the same time.

Harry quickly removed Dina's hand from his grasp. He also walked fast with heavy steps.

"Mommy, can we go to the park later?" It's been a while because I haven't been able to play with you.

Harold still has puppy eyes, so she just agreed. She has been busy these past few days because she is too hands-on with her business. She wants to be able to keep track of how her money grows.

"OK fine, you know I can't ignore you when you're so cute," she said, holding her son's cheeks.

Harold was the best thing that ever happened to her. He gave her the strength to move on in life despite the bitterness and hardship she went through.

"What time do we go there, mommy?"

She looks at the wall clock in her office.

She noticed that the sun would be gone in a few minutes, so she quickly turned off her laptop and picked up her belongings. She just left some work for one of her staff to do what else she had to do, such as cleaning her office, which she usually does.

There were only a few children in the park because it was late, but Harold was still happy. She could see that in his eyes. When they were in Korea, they often went to children’s parks. That was their favorite bond. They often play different sports too. Harold also loved to ride the swing and slide. She does all the things that will make the child happy because she doesn’t want him to feel that something is missing in his life.

"You can start to do what you want, honey. I will buy you some cotton candy. I will be quick." She tapped the child lightly on the shoulder and left.

She didn't want Harold to eat sweets because he was sure that after he ate all the sweets he would end up at the dentist. But she thought that since they had only bonded once with the child, she would be a conscientious mother first this time. Her son has been a fan of cotton candy since he tasted it the last time they went out for a walk.

She has come a long way, but she still doesn't see anyone selling cotton candy. That is impossible because children's parks are often found with vendors. Maybe because it's getting late.

She was sad. Harold would definitely find her cotton candy because she promised her son that she would buy it when they got to the park. It was her fault because she left her office late.

"Excuse me, where can I buy cotton candy here?" She asked a woman who she thought was a sweeper in that area. The woman replied and pointed to a location.

She hurried to the said place. It took her four minutes to walk before she saw the man selling cotton candy. She bought it immediately upon arriving there. Maybe Harold was already looking for her. She was comfortable leaving him earlier because there were some seniors in the park.

Blue is the color of cotton candy he chose for the child. She can already imagine his appearance while savoring the sweetness of cotton candy. It is very exciting when it feels the popping of small bubbles in its tongu. She didn't even take the change because she was in a hurry, and that also helped the vendor.

"Come on, Harold, try to catch me, dude!"

Harry ran, shouting at the boy who grabbed the ball he was holding. He had been hanging out in the park before, and when he saw an ad selling children's toys, he thought of buying a ball.

Sitting at the park bench became his hobby, especially when he was exhausted from all the things in his work. He loves watching children; their smiles and giggles light up his bad days. He then thought to himself, his not getting younger. His age will increase in a few months, and there he was, still single.

"You better get ready, Harry, because I'm coming. My mother taught me how to run faster than ever!"

He accepted his challenge while running fast.

He's really cute; he looks like his mom. He wish he was his daddy, but he knew that wouldn't happen. It is true that destiny is deceitful, he believes, because he is one of its toys. Destiny kept playing with him.

He saw Harold approaching, so he ran slowly again. He did not want the child to get tired because he might sweat a lot and cough.

He caught up with him and he immediately grabbed his two legs. This was a way for him not to get too far.

"See, I told you. I can catch you."

"It’s fun, but I'm tired," he said to a boy.

He immediately picked him up and headed for the vacant bench so Harold could rest. He wanted to ask him about Amanda and Marco, but he was hesitant because he didn't know what else the child would think.

"Are you tired? "Here, drink some water," he smiled while offering him a bottle of water. He had just come back from the gym, and he was used to bringing his own water. Harold immediately accepted it and drank continuously. He was obviously too tired from running.

"I really had fun today. Thank you for coming here. Can we play again next time?"

He asked.

He took the towel from his gym bag and wiped Harold's back and whole face. He always carried two towels before heading to the gym.

"Let's see, you can visit me at my house or at my office. I really hope to see you again, Harold," he said, then took his calling card from his wallet. He also wrote the addresses of his home and office.

Yeah, I really want to see you too. Maybe I can stay at your place. " He's serious when he speaks. Harold seemed to be telling the truth because he could clearly see it in his eyes.

He felt something he couldn’t explain. He really had fun being with Harold. It was as if he felt relieved that he only felt now. Or maybe because it was his first time playing with a child.

"Take this ball, it's all yours." I have to go because I'm a busy man. "Everybody needs me at the office," he said when he read his secretary's text message on his cellphone.

His work doesn’t end; sometimes he wants to rest, but he can’t do that. He didn't even sleep at night for a few hours because he had to get up for things to do. It seems that his world revolves around work.

Almost incredulous, Harold asked Harry again if what he was saying was true. The child does not seem accustomed to receiving anything from other people. He was hesitant to take the ball he offered.

"Are you sure you will be okay here? I can help you to find your mom first before I go," he said.

He was worried about leaving him because he was all alone. He agreed with his suggestion. They were about to get up from their seats to look for Amanda when she appeared from behind them.

"I told you Harold, don't talk to strangers. We're not sure if what's their motive for us. Especially to you. " She suddenly grabbed Harold by the hand and quickly pulled him away. He could see the anger in her face. He could not understand where her anger at him was coming from. He doesn't remember doing anything wrong here.

Amanda's whole body trembled when she saw Harold with Harry. She honestly didn’t know what to say to the man who had given her hope that the fairytale was true, a man she trusted with all her being. She felt a variety of emotions in those moments. She was afraid that Harry might find out the secret she was keeping so well. Several times, she wished that the paths of the two of them would never meet again, but she failed in that request.

"Mommy, he's not a bad person. He's my friend, and I know he has a pure heart like yours."

She blushed for a few seconds because of what her son had said. She looked around, not wanting to put her eyes on Harry.

"Enough, Harold. Let's go home. How could you disobey my rules?"

She wanted to cry. She didn’t want to hurt the child with the words in her mouth that came out.

"I'm sorry, Amanda. "Don't be mad at your son just because he talked to a stranger," he said, knowing that her two eyes were staring at him.

"And really? Am I a stranger to yours now? It's unbelievable, Amanda."

She heard him say it again and laughed slightly.

"Don't you go near my son again? Or else I will report you to the authorities."

Her mouth was still as she spoke. The thickness of this man's face after he would turn his back and leave her like a rag five years ago

"What? Seriously, though, what are you going to accuse me of? Kidnapping?" He chuckled.

She was even more annoyed because of what he said.

If only Harold hadn’t been there in those moments, she would have been slapping him with her high heels. She just holds back because she doesn't want the child to hear what they're talking about. Her son is a smart kid, so she is sure he will ask her when they get home. She needs to think of answers to his possible questions.

She quickly grabbed Harry's hand and pulled him away slightly from Harold. She told her son that she would talk to Harry, so he could never harm them. The child just nodded and smiled slightly.

"Why are you so mad at me, Amanda?"

Harry was the first to speak.

Over the years, his whole appearance has not changed. As usual, he still looks handsome and sexy at the same time. Based on his white shirt that is slightly fitted, the gym takes care of his body. He only had a beard, but it wasn't that long. He only becomes even more handsome with his beard. She blinked and wanted to scold herself for what she was thinking.

"Because I don't want him to be close to people we don't know. It's dangerous to trust," he practically said.

"So, do you think I was that kind of person? Maybe you don't know me well, but I'm not like the people you think. "

He even held her hand, which he immediately removed.

"Oh really? I'm just protecting my son, Harry Anderson. Stay away from him." She left quickly after saying that. She even ran slightly back to Harold. She immediately took the child home and said she had fixed the problem between the two of them with Harry.

"Did you know him, mom? It seems that you hate him so much."

The child's curiosity took turns. Maybe he overheard another conversation he had with Harry.

"He told me, you guys knew each other many years ago."

Her eyes widened at what her son said. Little by little, she felt her long-lost secret being revealed. She had to make a way for Harry and her son to never see each other again. From now on, she will take good care of the child, and she will make sure that Harry won't come near him again.
