C11 The second chance meeting.

Sloane's Pov

"Sorry" I mumbled as I looked up from the hard chest I'd bumped into. I let out a small gasp because the sight in my front knocked out almost all the breath in my lungs. In my eight years of dating different men, I'd never seen anyone as gorgeous as the one who stood in my front.

For a moment, my feet were glued to the ground and all I could do was stare at his dashing face."Do they know eachother?"

"Don't tell me she's moved on from that man we read in the articles!" I heard the people who stood behind me whisper as they continued taking pictures of me. I got alarmed when they began to take pictures of the man too and I knew that whatever the situation was, I couldn't get into a scandal with this man.

These people were hungry for entertainment, they could use him to satiate themselves and it wouldn't turn out well for me.In the midst of the pictures they were taking, I grabbed the man's wrist and began to run.

Surprisingly, the man followed me and we began to run away from the ones who pried. We finally stopped behind a large gravestone. I gasped for breath as I still held the man's hand. Then I heard a low grunt as he forcefully pulled his hand from mine."Who the hell do you think you are to make me run with you like that?" He spat out as he glared at me.

I cringed in shock as I stared at him, taking in his harsh voice. I did nothing to warrant a scolding from him, if anything, I had saved him from getting into a scandal because of me.

It would've caused an unwanted invasion of his privacy. But how could he not know that?

"I'm sorry?" I began. "I thought you knew the reason why I did that"

He scoffed. "Am I supposed to know?"Looking at him I was able to figure out that he wasn't being sarcastic. He truly didn't know. Wait, was that possible? I thought everyone knew who I was.

"You know me, right?" I asked him to be sure.

He let out a string of profanities as he ran his fingers through his hair. Staring at him while he did that made me stifle a gasp. I barely stopped myself from gawking.

"Look miss" he began with an annoyed, stern tone. "Apologising would be much preferred to making stupid excuses" he said and turned to leave but I stopped him by grabbing his arm which made him cringe away from me with speed and disgust.

I gasped at such effrontery he possessed. He claimed not to know me yet he was this rude?"You'll be sorry once you find out who you just snapped at!" my eyes narrowed into slits as I threatened him.

"I don't give a damn about who you are" he whispered coldly and made to walk off but I stopped him again.

"Wait!" I exclaimed urgentlyI didn't want him to leave like that. I didn't want someone this handsome to slip from my fingers.

After all, he was kind of right to feel pissed at me. He didn't know who I was and I just grabbed him and began to run with him. If a stranger did that to me, I'd feel pissed too. I'd even be more than pissed, I'd be terrified...

"I'm... sorry" I said, sincerely holding his gaze. "I just wanted to protect you from celebrity scandals..."

I paused when I saw his confused expression."Forget about that, let's start afresh" I said, pasting an alluring smile on my face.

"I'm Sloane Anderson, your very famous supermodel. It's nice to meet you"

I stretched out my hand for a handshake but he just glared at it, his glare darting from my hand to my face.

He didn't shake my hand even though I expected him to, and while I stood there and waited for him to shake me, I spotted Hilda and one of the huge men she was with, earlier.

Shit! Had they followed me here? How did they even know that I was here? Oh! I thought in disdain, I parked my car by the side of the road and they must have spotted it and known I was in here.

Whatever! I had to hide because I couldn't get caught by them this time around. Without thinking, I grabbed the man who still stood, glaring at me, by the shoulder and pulled him down as we both hid behind the large gravestone.

"What the hell!" His gruff voice rang out in shock "I'm sorry" I immediately said.

"I'm just hiding from some people"

"That is not my problem" he enunciated coldlyI was seriously stuck in a pickle. I couldn't afford to get seen by Hilda because I didn't want her to drag me to my dad and I needed this dude's help to hide me but he wasn't cooperating.

How couldn't all these be happening to me in just a day?

"Please..." I began urgently. "I know that we started off on the wrong foot but I really need your help" I placed a lot of emphasis on 'need' as I stared at him with pleading eyes. His glare remained fixed on me as he contemplated for a minute.

"Okay" he mumbled then peeped behind the grave stone as he looked out for them."There's a blonde haired lady and two huge men with her" I said to him so he'd know who to look out for.He looked for less than a minute, then brought back his head.

"They're out of sight" he said and I let out a relieved sigh. We both got up from behind the large gravestone at the same time and

"Thanks" I said, beaming at him. He nodded his reply and made to leave but then I stopped him again.

"You didn't tell your name" I whispered, mesmerized by the way he looked down at me.I held his gaze. I was used to holding men's gaze and I did it with confidence but this man...His eyes were golden. They were so... cold, and so was his expression. It made me wonder how he would look if he actually smiled.

Asides from the coldness that emanated from his gaze, I felt something else too.Danger.I felt like he was dangerous but that feeling was squashed by the noisy rhythm of my heartbeat and the churning sensation I felt in my belly.

He opened his mouth slightly as he was about to say something but before I could hear what he had to say, Hilda and the men had spotted me.

I left the man and made to run from them but unfortunately, I was cornered by the huge looking men."It's over, Sloane"Hilda said. "please come with us because I can't risk your dad's wrath"I sighed in defeat. There was no where to run to now. I sluggishly began to follow them.
