CHAPTER 5: GROUPED

“It’s ok, Diego. I understand the angle that you are coming from and believe me when I say that I am doing everything humanly possible to solve it. Apart from the war insults, is there any important matters that you would like to draw to my attention?” Alpha Romeo said.

“Well, there is the issue of food, our supplies are running low and our women and children are starting to complain, about the starvation. It’s getting really hard to hunt, due to the war.” One of the warriors Nate reported.

“I see, what about the warriors, what are they doing?” Romeo asked.

“The warriors are facing sickness. During the last battle, we lost a handful in battle and the rests fell sick due to infection and tiredness. It’s not up to 10 able men that are in good health, well excluding myself.” Nate replied.

“I can ask my father to bring in more reinforcement. He would certainly oblige us.” Nia said to Romeo.

“That’s is a very good idea, see if you can get your dad, to agree. We sure need more men for the ongoing battle. Assure him that food and shelter won’t be a problem.” Romeo said to Nia.

“Yes, alpha. I will do as you have commanded me.”

‘Also, Nate, take about 5 of your strongest warriors, the ones that are still in good health, take them to the dark forest. Tell Anthony to show you the secret tunnel we found a year ago. We only use that tunnel in times of emergency. This surely counts as one. Use the dark forest and hunt for foods, both for our women and children, and also for the reinforcements that will be arriving soon.” Alpha Romeo said

“Sure thing, alpha. I will do that right away.”

“Have you heard anything from our pack doctor?” Romeo asked directing the question to Ash.

Ash is one of the strongest omega in the pack, Diego is the beta, second in command after Romeo, Nate is the leader of the warriors in the pack while Nicole is the smartest delta.

These four including Alpha Romeo and Luna Nia made up the council.

“Nope, I haven’t. she has gone off radar, for the past six months.” Ash said from where he sat.

“What? Six months. That was during the war.” Alpha Romeo said very pissed off.

“Yeah, she said that she was tired off the killings and sewing back our warriors’ intestines and guts back to their stomach, she wanted out.” Ash replied.

“Have you guys gotten her scent? Do you have any idea of where she might be staying?” Alpha Romeo asked.

“Yeah, our source said that they tracked her to a town, not far, from the boundary. But that’s is unknown territory, entering there might bring us danger. We do not want to start another one with the wolves, when we are currently in one with the witches.”

“Okay, I will see to it. The rest of you all disperse and go carry out your various tasks. Liam, I need to speak with you in private.” Alpha Romeo said as the rest bowed and left leaving them behind.

“What’s it?”

“I need you to substitute for me, this night.” Alpha Romeo said in a low voice.

Why? What’s happening.”

“I need to go into town, to look for our pack doctor, we really need her back here.”

“I know we do, but this is dangerous. They are a lot of rogue wolves who will kill you the moment they set their eyes on you.”

“I know, but I need to do this. I have to, it’s very important.” Alpha Romeo said.

“Is it about…. you know.” Diego said raising his eyebrow

“Maybe, but we have to get the pack doctor back here and since I am the alpha, she won’t dare defy my orders.” Alpha Romeo said convincing him.

“Whatever you say, do what you need to do, just be careful, I will watch out for things here” Diego said patting him on the shoulder.

“Thanks very much. I can always count on you. Alpha Romeo said as he left the room too.

“He always uses an excuse to go to that town, the so called Iridium High. Diego said smiling.

He shook, his head, as his wolf, gave out a slow growl.

Come on, boy, what did we say about judging? Alpha isn’t doing anything wrong you know. He said, but his wolf, just whined, and went silent.

“I can’t believe it, the three of us in a group project, Anya will be so furious. Gaia said as she sat down in the cafeteria eating lunch.

“Don’t remind me about that name, God why me.” Liam said stabbing his lettuce.

“Hey, leave the innocent man out of this, you know you never told me why you and Anya hate each other. Your relationship with her never worked out or what?” Gaia said eating her meatballs.

“Hell, no. we never dated and I don’t plan to. I rather stick a gun up my ass rather than to have Anya…… speaking of the devil.”

“Hey, Gaia…. YOU….” Anya said accusingly….

“I can’t stand your presence either, but wishes aren’t horses so pipe it down.” Liam said shoving a forkful of lettuce inside his mouth.

“Anya, you missed math class. Mr. clayton wasn’t happy.” Gaia said as Anya sat down beside her.

“Yeah, tell me about it, hey I have a friend that is inviting me to a night party tonight and she said I can totally bring my female friends…”

“And? Where is this conversation leading to?” Gaia said looking at her.

“Come on, female friends…. you are a female…. Party… calculate it.” Anya said rolling her eyes.

“I can’t, I am sorry.”

“Why can’t you?” Anya asked stealing a fry from Liam’s plate earning a scowl from him.

“Because we have a group project and we need to submit it this Friday.”

“Who gave us a group project?” Anya asked surprised.

“Mr. Clayton gave us, although you would know if you didn’t skip today’s class.” Gaia said poking her forehead.

“Quit it. Anya said stopping her. So who is my partner?” She asked unconcerned.
