C28 She Went to Investigate Their Relationship

She had always been extremely cautious around him, solely to keep her children hidden from his discovery. But now, he was after her life. "Zhan Yeling, let go of me!" Xiong Miao struggled with all her might. The chilly autumn night, combined with Zhan Yeling's menacing presence, sent shivers down her spine.

Once her breathing steadied, she regained her composure only to be met with Zhan Yeling's dark, intimidating gaze. Frightened, she stumbled backward several steps.

Gu Yi, fearing another outburst from Zhan Yeling, maintained his protective stance in front of him and turned to address Xiong Miao, "Manager Xiong, please head back inside. We'll discuss the remaining matters tomorrow at work."

Xiong Miao nodded, avoiding Zhan Yeling's gaze, and hurried away.
