C30 The Six Treasures Enter the Rich Group!
Su Mumu could see that Xiong Miao was preoccupied with worries.
Since Xiong Miao was against calling the police, Su Mumu resolved to take the six babies to confront the advertising company the next day. They had to recover that sixty thousand yuan, come what may.
Why should kind people be taken advantage of? Why should they just accept injustice and remain silent? The little ones had worked so hard!
She couldn't just stand by and watch Xiong Miao's family suffer like this.
After Xiong Miao finished her bath, she entered the room to find the children still awake.
"Mommy, hug," the sixth baby pleaded, her pink cheeks expressing her longing.
Xiong Miao lay down among the children, cradling the sixth baby's tiny body in her arms.
The little one nuzzled her tender face into Xiong Miao's chest and quickly fell asleep.
Holding the soft, fragrant little bundle, Xiong Miao felt much more at peace and soon drifted off to sleep herself.
In the middle of the night, Xiong Miao awoke feeling overheated. Her head was foggy, and her body was sweating profusely, likely due to the high temperature of the little one in her arms.
Children's body temperatures are naturally higher than adults', especially when they're deep in slumber, not only rising but also causing them to become damp with sweat.
With a parched throat, Xiong Miao reluctantly released the sixth baby, took another bath, and drank a cup of hot water, which somewhat alleviated her discomfort.
However, her mind remained hazy.
She probably hadn't slept well.
These days had been exhausting.
She had planned to work late today to finish the clothing designs, but it seemed that overtime was out of the question.
After her late-night bath, Xiong Miao didn't go back to the children's room but instead returned to her own room and fell asleep in her bed.
Early the next morning, Su Mumu arrived.
She got the six little ones ready and prepared breakfast for them.
Noticing that Xiong Miao was still asleep, she realized how exhausted she must be and let her rest without disturbance.
Out the door she went with her six little dumplings in tow.
"My babies, do you feel sorry for your mommy?" Su Mumu lined them up in the community garden and, with the enthusiasm of a coach, she asked.
"It hurts..." the sixth baby's speech was unclear, her earnest little face almost comically serious.
Her five brothers nodded in agreement.
"That's wonderful! Since you all feel sorry for your mom, we can't let her risk her life for money. Now, follow my lead, head to Rich Group, and find the top executive. Take back the advertising rights and reclaim the 60,000 that rightfully belongs to you!"
"Okay!" the six treasures chorused.
And so, the children, one after another, grabbed their clothes and formed a little train, marching behind Su Mumu.
The six exquisitely adorable little ones, following an adult, marched down the street like soldiers, creating a strikingly beautiful scene that added a splash of color to the dull city.
Once again, they took the bus.
Su Mumu steadied her nerves, reminding herself not to get distracted by attractive men and certainly not to lose the little ones.
With her continuous self-encouragement, she managed to bring the little group to the Rich Corporation building's front desk without incident.
"Hello, I need to speak with your most authoritative leader," Su Mumu told the receptionist.
She was determined to find someone whose word was law, someone whose commands were followed without question.
The receptionist took in Su Mumu's earnest, excited expression, and then her gaze shifted to the six well-behaved children trailing behind her like a train.
Upon recognizing the resemblance of one of the children, the receptionist gasped in surprise: "Oh my, why does this child look so much like their Director Zhan?"
