C5 Who Wrote the Diary??

After bidding farewell to Connor and Ryan Dwyer, Sonia Reed returned to her father's old home.

The house was blanketed in dust, clearly neglected for quite some time.

Donning an apron, Sonia set to work tidying up.

Beneath the sofa, she stumbled upon a wedding photo of herself with Toby Fuller. Her smile radiated joy, while Toby stood beside her, his face etched with indifference and impatience.

Next to the photo lay a notebook filled with her handwriting.

The diary detailed his favorite foods, preferred items, and a list of his hobbies.

She had invested all her energy into Toby, determined to make their hard-won marriage work. Yet, her dream remained unfulfilled.

Tears welled in Sonia's eyes, but she lifted her head, refusing to let them fall.

Her reverie was shattered by the ping of a text message. She checked her phone and saw it was from Ryan Dwyer.

[Sis, you were there for me six years ago, so now it's my turn to support you. Do whatever you want, because I've got your back.]

A surge of warmth coursed through Sonia.

Despite Ryan's genuine desire to help, she was reluctant to depend on anyone. Since marrying Toby, she had shed her once carefree demeanor to become the perfect wife.

Sonia picked up the phone and dialed a number.

"Sonia Reed, what now?" came Toby's detached voice from the other end.

Her tone was equally frosty, as though he were a stranger. "Tomorrow's Monday. Don't forget to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau for the divorce proceedings."

Toby Fuller started to protest, "You—"

She cut him off, ending the call. He clenched his phone, his gaze turning steely.

"Toby, who was that?"

From the bedroom, Khloe looked towards the balcony, puzzled.

Toby pocketed his phone and approached her nonchalantly. He tucked her in, saying, "Nothing important. Just take your medicine."

Khloe's pallid complexion tugged at his heartstrings. Clutching his hand, she lamented, "The herbal medicine is too bitter. It's making me feel sick."

Raising an eyebrow, Toby reminded her, "When we were pen pals, you claimed not to mind the taste of herbs. You need to drink it to get better."

His comment was offhand, but it sparked a fleeting shadow in Khloe's eyes.

Quickly regaining her composure, she gazed up at him with her large, dewy eyes and murmured, "I'll do as you say."

After a five-year coma, Khloe was frail and colorless, her demeanor unchanged from her school days.

With a twinge of compassion, he assured her, "Next time, I'll have Assistant Benson switch to Western medicine."

Her face lit up with a grateful smile as she playfully clung to his arm. "Toby, you're always so good to me."

Once outside the room, Toby descended the stairs. Ruth Lee approached with a bowl of ginseng soup, inquiring, "Is Khloe feeling any better?"

"She's just finished her medicine and is talking to her parents now."

Ruth beamed, "Toby, her father is the chairman of Strongview Group. His consent to have Khloe stay with us is a nod to your marriage. We must take good care of her."

As his mother doted on Khloe, Toby's mind drifted to Sonia's illness last year.

Ruth had been furious, smashing things downstairs, while Sonia, despite being ill, had insisted on cooking.

A complex emotion flickered through Toby's heart, but he quickly dismissed it. Sonia was responsible for her own predicament, having caused Khloe's accident and then scheming to marry him.

Ruth glanced around, "Where's Axel? I haven't seen him all day."

Her words were punctuated by the front door swinging open.

Axel Fuller stormed in, his face dark with anger.

"Axel, what's wrong?" Ruth hurried over, setting aside the soup to check on her son.

Axel brushed off her concern, "Mom, it's nothing."

He turned to his brother, struggling with his words, "Bro, I saw Sonia at the bar today. She was cozy with a male model. Their relationship looked... intimate."

Toby's voice turned icy, "Who is Sonia with?"
