C6 Divorce.
"That guy's name seems to be Ryan Dwyer, and next to them is that pesky Connor."
"What? She had the audacity to have an affair!" Ruth Lee's face darkened with rage as she sharply cursed, "She's utterly shameless! Where is she now? I'm going to give her a piece of my mind!"
"Sonia Reed told me she's already divorced from my brother!" Axel Fuller said, noting the ominous look on his brother Toby's face. "Is it true?"
Toby Fuller remained silent, his lips sealed and his expression somber, implicitly confirming Axel's words.
A thought struck Ruth Lee, and after a brief pause, a smile crept onto her face. "So she's finally agreed to the divorce! In my eyes, Khloe is the only one I recognize as my daughter-in-law!"
For some reason, Ruth Lee's tirade against Sonia Reed grated on Toby Fuller's ears.
He said icily, "Enough."
He then grabbed his coat and left the estate.
Axel watched his brother's retreating figure, wondering, "Is Sonia Reed really not coming back?"
Ruth Lee huffed, "How dare she even think of returning? Even if she's after a divorce, she won't get a dime from my son!"
Axel stayed quiet, his head bowed, lost in thought.
Suddenly, he felt a gaze upon them and instinctively looked up.
Khloe stood serenely by the railing, though it was unclear how long she had been there.
Her eyes met Axel's surprised look, and she offered a soft smile, her voice soothing as she said, "Axel."
Axel had heard from his mother about Khloe's pedigree as the sole heiress of a business tycoon and her potential boon to his brother's endeavors. Sonia Reed, in contrast, was an orphan who seemed only to spend his brother's money.
The disparity between the two women was stark.
Axel greeted her with a warm smile, "Hey, Khloe."
The next morning, Sonia Reed rose early and took extra care with her appearance.
She slipped into the black body-hugging dress from her closet, a dress she had once worn for Toby Fuller, only to be criticized for its lack of appeal. She hadn't worn it since.
Today, not only did she don the dress, but she also applied meticulous makeup and chose a striking lipstick shade, radiating an enthralling allure.
Together, she and Toby Fuller headed to the Civil Affairs Bureau.
With a stoic expression, Sonia said, "Let's get this over with, Mr. Fuller. I'm quite busy, so let's make it quick."
Toby's gaze lingered on her, deep and probing. "Is this rush to divorce because of that male model?"
Sonia paused, realizing he might have gotten the wrong idea.
But she didn't clarify, instead offering a meaningful smile and a playful arch of her brow. "My personal life is none of your concern, Mr. Fuller."
Toby disliked her dismissive tone, as if he were irrelevant.
"Do you have feelings for him?"
Impatient with his probing, Sonia retorted, "Yes, I do like him. Are you happy now? Can we proceed with the divorce?"
Toby's lips pressed together, a frosty veil settling over his handsome features.
If she was so eager, he would not stand in her way.
The divorce process at the Civil Affairs Bureau was over in minutes.
Holding the divorce certificate, Sonia's eyes welled up with discomfort.
From this moment, they had no ties to each other.
No more suffering for his sake.
She inhaled deeply, swallowing the pain, and when she looked up again, her face was adorned with a radiant smile.
Just then, a black Maybach pulled up beside her.
A pair of long legs emerged from the vehicle.
It was Ryan Dwyer, clad in a jacket, his striking features lighting up with a captivating smile as he saw her. "I've come to pick you up."
Sonia blinked in surprise. "Wasn't Connor supposed to come?"
"He's at Money-Squandering, booking a private room. He wants to celebrate with you tonight, so he sent me to fetch you first."
Ryan reached for her bag, saying, "Hop in, I'll take you somewhere special."
His air of mystery piqued Sonia's curiosity. "Tell me where we're headed first, then I'll decide whether to join you."
Ryan sighed, a playful frustration in his voice. "Sis, it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you."
Sonia couldn't help but laugh at his feigned exasperation.
