C9 Mockery!

Toby Fuller's face turned stormy in an instant.

Finley Quinn, as if anticipating his reaction, chuckled with a taunting edge, "I actually learned about your divorce from a trending topic. How's the sting of betrayal feel?"

"Get lost."

"Sonia Reed is a good woman; you failed to appreciate her. She's the only one who would put up with you for five years. Anyone else would've dumped you long ago."

Toby retorted, "I don't like her."

"But you have a thing for Khloe, right?"

Finley had encountered Khloe back in their college days. He immediately recognized she wasn't one to be trifled with. Yet, his impression of Sonia Reed was quite favorable. She had been good to Toby, managing the Adam family affairs with efficiency and dedication. It was truly regrettable.

Toby, with a glower, asked, "Did you call just to rub salt in the wound?"

"I'm actually calling to inform you that your ex-wife has spent a fortune on the first floor of Money-Squandering. I'm flattered to be invited to her party. But enough about that, I'm off to enjoy the dance."

With that, Finley hung up.

Toby stared blankly at his phone for a moment before resuming his paperwork, unfazed. However, Assistant Benson burst in shortly after, announcing, "Sir, the madame has returned."

Sonia Reed had a specific reason for inviting Finley to Money-Squandering. Few knew that Finley was the vice mayor's second son, with his main ventures abroad. He had come back to secure a deal with the Brilliant Glory Group, but the board had consistently snubbed him, not recognizing his potential. Sonia saw her opportunity.

With a wine glass in hand and a radiant smile, she approached him, "Mr. Quinn, it's been a year, yet you remain as dashing as ever."

Finley, with his striking phoenix eyes, returned the smile, "You're the one who's surprised me. It's hard to believe that this stunning, sensual, and graceful woman before me is the same person I knew two years ago."

Sonia swirled her wine, her smile unwavering, "People change. We must always look ahead, right?"

Leaning in, Finley whispered teasingly, "I'm puzzled. Knowing full well I'm Toby Fuller's close friend, why invite me? Could it be you've fallen for my charming looks?"

Sonia, accustomed to his playful manner, wasn't upset. Instead, she murmured something into his ear that made his demeanor instantly shift to one of seriousness.

He regarded her with a complex expression, "You're an incredibly astute woman. Toby Fuller will undoubtedly come to regret his actions."

The smile vanished from Sonia's lips, "He's history. Why bring him up?"

"You're right. From now on, our relationship will be nothing but the best. Beautiful Miss Reed, may I have the honor of this dance?" Finley's playful grin lingered, but before he could extend his hand, he was interrupted.

Ryan Dwyer approached, long legs covering the distance quickly, a glass of juice in hand. He didn't spare Finley a glance as he swapped the juice for the wine in Sonia's grasp. "Sis, too much wine will give you a headache."

To Finley's astonishment, Sonia accepted the juice without any sign of protest.

Finley's eyes shifted to Ryan, and he paused, taken aback. Ryan was strikingly handsome, with an impressive presence. He was, after all, a renowned model.

A sense of foreboding washed over Finley as he envisioned a bleak future for Toby Fuller.
