C10 Lucien's POV; Oops! I hurt my wife

~Lucien~

His claws emerged tearing through my skin as he yelled mean words at me. I was in immense pain but had gotten used to it. I couldn't fight back as it's forbidden in our culture to fight against an elder. But goddess knows if I had the chance, I would tear him limb from limb.

"You b*stard! How dare you! I thought it was a joke but you actually got married!" He yelled as his claws teared through my skin.

Weak and in pain, I whimpered as tears flowed down my eyes, "Let me go," I pleaded.

"I'll teach you a lesson. Next time, you won't dare disobey me."

He punched me severally as his claws made deep cuts on my body. I felt my body go numb as my vision blurred.

"I told you to sign the damn will, but you got married , how dare you!" He scolded as he kicked me repeatedly.

I winced out in pain as I starred blankly at the empty space.

"Mate! Danger!" My wolf cried from within.

Mate? That could only mean Freya, I couldn't let Raphael lay his hands on her, I couldn't let her see me like this. A familiar scent filled my nose, it was Freya. Could she be here?

Pulling on my hair as his claws made deep cuts on my scalp, he yelled, "You aren't worth anything!"

"I let you live doesn't mean you have the right to anything, you hear me!" He warned.

As the metallic taste of blood engulfed my senses, I chuckled darkly as I glared at him, "You're nothing but a hypocrite acting tough while you're not!" I retorted coldly.

His feet made their way to my hands as he stumped on my wrist forcefully. I winced in pain as he twisted his feet on my hands.

"Stop!" Freya cried out in desperation.

Raphael turned over to Freya as his feet let go of my hand. I winced out in pain. No, she's not meant to be here!

"Mate, danger, save mate!" My wolf cried from within as Raphael scanned Freya.

"So this is your little wife," he said as he chuckled darkly.

Panic surged through my veins as he began taking steps towards Freya. What was he going to do to her?

"I'll be back!" he barked, giving Freya a sharp gaze as he departed.

A sigh of relief escaped my lips as I watched his departing figure. Freya stood bewildered as her jaw remained on the floor.

"She saved us," my wolf said softly.

Did she really come to help? Am I really not alone? The hope which filled me dissipated as soon as it bubbled. Freya ran out of the room immediately after Raphael's departure.

She left me. I knew I shouldn't have let her in. I shouldn't have developed a soft spot for her. I was blinded by my own depression. She turned around and left without a word. I was destined for loneliness.

Wincing in pain, I staggered up from the floor. With much difficulty, I made my way to the drink stand by the side of my room. Grabbing six bottles, I staggered my way to the bed as I fell to the floor weakly. Looking at my blood which covered the path I had taken, I couldn't help but chuckle darkly.

Gulping down the alcohol as fast as I could, past memories flooded my head. I couldn't help but laugh at my own flaw. I thought I had someone, turns out I'm all alone.

Drinking continuously, I found myself delving deep into depression as the anger within me boiled. I wished to behead Raphael the moment I saw him. But I couldn't, not yet, not right now, my plans haven't been arranged yet.

Looking at the empty bottles of wine that surrounded me, I laughed hysterically. They hadn't had an effect on me yet. I wanted to get drunk, I needed to forget, why couldn't I get drunk like others!

"Lucien," Freya called out to me softly.

Scoffing in disgust, I turned my gaze to her. Narrowing my eyes, I fixed my gaze on her. I noticed she had a first aid kit with her. Pathetic!

I always healed myself alone, how dare she call me weak! The fury within me bubbled as my wolf begged to come out.

"Get out!" I growled with clenched fists. I didn't want anyone's pity much less hers.

"No, I refuse," she responded arrogantly.

Refuse? This was the first time someone ever said that word to me. She began taking steps towards me slowly. The audacity!

I didn't want pity. Enraged, I picked up an empty bottle throwing it towards her.

Crash!

The bottle smashed the wall behind her. I missed! Getting up, I took steps towards her. My gaze sharp not breaking contact with her eyes. Taking steps backwards, the first aid kit in her hands fell to the ground as it's contents poured to the ground.

As her back reached the cold wall behind her, I barked angrily, "I warned you to stay away from me!"

"And I refuse," she responded.

That word 'refuse' again? Her audacity spoke volumes. Enraged, I gripped her neck, eating up the distance between us. Her face just an inch from mine. Her trembling hot breaths grazed my skin.

"Who do you think you are?!" I growled tightening my grip round her neck.

"I'm your wife," she responded out of breath.

Wife? She didn't just say that did she?

"Wife?" I muttered coldly.

Chuckling darkly, I stared intensely at her as I spoke, "I warned you to stay away from me, there's nothing like intimacy between us, you're just one of those who*res who seek my wealth!"

Watching as her eyes welled up with tears, a sudden surge of discomfort filled me. A gnawing ache overwhelmed my body as her tears flowed down uncontrollably. What's all this? What's going on? Why do I feel this way towards her?

Releasing my grip from her neck, I staggered away from her. Not able to bear her cries, I turned away facing the opposite direction, "Leave!" I growled coldly.

Sobbing, she yelled, "I hate you!"

Bang!

She ran out of the room swinging the door close behind her. Hearing her receding footsteps, I fell to the floor in agony as I cried out, "What have I done!"
