The darkness felt alive. Every creak and every rustle of trees surrounding the cabin made Lila panic. Ethan paced the small room, the weight of their situation pressing hard on on his shoulders. His mind heavy, trying to put together pieces of the puzzle that had become their lives.

“They will soon find us” he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper.
