Lila sat quietly on the cabin's porch, the early morning sun pouring beautiful light through the trees. Her body was healing, but her heart was heavy with the weight of everything she'd learnt in the previous few days.

Samuel, her uncle, approached her with two warm mugs. He handed one to her, his gaze warm but guarded.
