C18 Nighttime

The streets were brightly lit at night, and the various lights of the central square stung the eye.

Yue Ling turned around and faced Yin Tu. She held onto Yin Tu with both hands, and leaned back. Behind her was a sea of people, Yue Ling let go of her hands in amusement, and her body seemed to be about to fall backwards. Yin Tu was shocked and immediately pulled Yue Ling back, one hand wrapped around Yue Ling's waist, and pulled her into his embrace.

Seeing Yin Tu in such a panic, Yue Ling laughed happily. She hugged Yin Tu, her shoulders shaking like a child whose prank had succeeded.

The panic on Yin Tu's face had yet to recede. Looking at Yue Ling like this, he felt helpless and could only hug her tightly to prevent her from bumping into the others.

Yue Ling had laughed enough, she rubbed herself against Yin Tu's arms, turned around and pulled Yin Tu towards the central plaza. The fragrance of food surrounded the tip of her nose, making Yue Ling, who had eaten dinner, a little hungry.

Although Yin Tu was a ghost, he could appear like an ordinary person and could also touch objects. It was just that ghosts were ghosts after all, and were different from humans.

"Tu, Tu, look here." Hearing that, Yin Tu lowered his head, and discovered that at some point in time, something had appeared in Yue Ling's hand, and it was still steaming hot.

Looking at the steaming round thing in Yue Ling's hand, Yin Tu did not know what to say, and his mouth was stuffed with a ball.

"Tu, this is an octopus ball, is it delicious?" Yue Ling held the octopus ball in her hand. The heat blinded her eyes, and she couldn't see Yin Tu's expression clearly for a moment.

As for Yin Tu, he looked at Yue Ling, who was filled with anticipation, and could not bear to tell her that ghosts had no taste, and he did not even know what it tasted like.

"Delicious." Hearing Yin Tu's reply, Yue Ling revealed a happy expression, "I knew you would like it, Tu."

Under the colorful lights, Yue Ling, who was happy because of his words, disturbed Yin Tu's mind.

Yue Ling pulled Yin Tu out to play, so after eating the small octopus ball, Yue Ling did not buy any other food and pulled Yin Tu inside.

In the orange light, the old man worked carefully, his hands magic, and when he stopped, a vivid little bird appeared in his hands.

"Wow!" Yue Ling was shocked along with the child, exclaiming at his superb craftsmanship.

"Grandpa." Yue Ling half-squatted in front of the stall, "Do you know how to make little rabbits?"

"Yes!" The old man put the little bird aside for people to look at. His face, which had been washed by time, was filled with a kind smile.

"Child, is this your boyfriend?" The old man fiddled with the bamboo piece in his hand, and looked at Yin Tu with a pair of eyes that were filled with vicissitudes of life.

"That's right!" Yue Ling stared fixedly at the old man's hand, like a studious primary school student.

"That's great. When I was your age, I often went out with my wife." The old man's wrinkled face was filled with nostalgia.

"At that time, our lives were not as good as yours. The traffic was so advanced. It took us a long time to go to the city..."

Listening to the old man tell her story, Yue Ling did not feel impatient. From time to time, she would turn around and smile at Yin Tu, and from time to time, she would reply to the old man.

"It's a pity that my wife wasn't able to enjoy a few more days of happiness in this developed world." The old man sighed, his eyes filled with sadness.

Just as Yue Ling was about to comfort the old man, she heard a clear and cold voice, but the tone was very gentle, "Grandpa, don't say that. To grandma, being able to accompany grandpa for so long is already her fortune."

Turning her head slightly, she saw the owner of the voice looking at her. Her eyes were devoid of any color, and if Yue Ling had not seen the eyeballs moving, she would have thought that the girl in front of her was blind.

The girl was dressed in a long red dress and a beige cardigan over it. She looked ordinary, the kind of girl you wouldn't find in a crowd.

"Ning, you're here." When the old man saw the girl smiling at her, he said, "Hey, you're right. The little bird you want is here. Just take it and don't give me any more money. You've helped me too much."

The girl smiled, but there was still no light in her eyes, "I really don't have any money on me right now. Thank you, grandpa."

"No need to thank me, no need to thank me!"

The girl looked at Yue Ling, then at Yin Tu, "It's good to cherish the present, but don't be too engrossed. Forget the present, and don't see the future."

Yue Ling looked at the girl in confusion. She wanted to ask what the girl meant, but the girl said to the old man, "Grandpa, I'll go back first."

"Yes, be careful on the way."

"Grandpa, it looks like it's going to rain soon. Grandpa, you should go back earlier!"

"Alright."

The girl's back became smaller and smaller as she disappeared into the crowd. Yue Ling retracted her gaze and asked the old man, "Grandpa, who is that girl?"

The girl didn't have a trace of spiritual energy on her body, but she gave her an inexplicable sense of oppression. Combined with what she had just said, Yue Ling was sure that the girl was definitely not an ordinary person.

"Who is it? She's an ordinary person. She's a student here and often comes to visit me. In the past, when my wife was here, she often chatted with my wife. She's a very good child." The old man paused for a moment, then handed the rabbit he had made to Yue Ling. After putting away the money, he started to pack up his things. "Child, it's going to rain soon."

"Thank you, Grandfather." After Yue Ling finished speaking, she pulled Yin Tu and was about to leave, but was stopped by the old man, "Child, I think you are a good child. Remember Ning's words."

Yue Ling wanted to say something, but she saw that the old man had packed his things and was about to leave. The words that she wanted to say circled around her throat, but only one sentence came out, "Thank you, Grandfather. Be careful on the way."

Pulling Yin Tu away, Yue Ling looked at the place where the girl left and did not say anything else.

As the night wind blew, Yue Ling felt a trace of coldness. Her body felt warm, and a new set of clothes appeared on her body. Yue Ling pulled Yin Tu's hand that was about to withdraw and leaned into his embrace.

Yue Ling turned around and hugged Yin Tu, the words of the girl flashed across her mind.

Don't be too engrossed...

Unfortunately, it was too late.

"Tu, I'm tired, let's go back!"

Yin Tu replied, picked Yue Ling up, and met Yue Ling's surprised gaze, Yin Tu said, "I'm tired, so I'll rest."

Yue Ling's gaze landed on Yin Tu's slightly red ears, and she reached out to hug Yin Tu, her heart filled with sweetness.

The moment the two of them arrived at the subway station, it started to rain. Yue Ling listened to the rain outside, and the rain seemed to be getting heavier and heavier.

The girl said that it was going to rain, but Yue Ling looked at the weather forecast and saw that it wasn't raining today.

Was it a coincidence, or was it inevitable?

The sky had already completely darkened, so dark that one could not clearly see the original color of the sky. The city was surrounded by orange-yellow lights and was drowsy.

Yue Ling's eyelids were fighting in Yin Tu's arms. Perhaps it was the light that warmed her, or perhaps it was the feeling of security that this embrace gave her, Yue Ling fell into a deep sleep in this subway station that was filled with people.
