C21 Heaven and Earth Are Separated Forever
In the morning there were no clouds, and occasionally birds flew by.
Yue Ling yawned and walked out of the dormitory. Sure enough, she saw Hsu Fuping waiting for her. The purple crystal flashed with a dazzling light under the sunlight.
"Yue Ling." Hsu Fuping smiled and called out Yue Ling's name. Yue Ling walked up to Hsu Fuping and walked side by side with her. "I didn't have that dream last night. Thank you."
Hearing Hsu Fuping's gratitude, Yue Ling only smiled and did not say anything.
The sunlight cast long shadows of the two of them. From time to time, they would bump into each other, looking very intimate.
Because she did not sleep well last night, Yue Ling was sleepy during class. Luh Fei could not help but remind her, but he saw her lying on the ground. Luh Fei shook his head in amusement and resigned himself to help Yue Ling look at the teacher.
It wasn't until school ended that Yue Ling regained some of her energy. She looked up and saw Luh Fei waiting for her. She was a little dazed. After all, Luh Fei had been avoiding her all this time, so he had never waited for her to come back from school.
Luh Fei looked at Yue Ling for a long time before saying, "You also have to pay attention to time when dating. After all, we are still students, so we should focus on our studies."
Yue Ling blinked her eyes and only came back to her senses after a long time. She laughed, causing Luh Fei to be confused.
"Class monitor, did you think I went out on a date last night?"
Wasn't that so? Luh Fei suddenly heaved a sigh of relief. He felt inexplicably happy. He knew that this happiness should not exist, but he still could not help it. Emotions were not something that he could let go just because he said so.
Yue Ling stretched lazily. "Class monitor, do you want to go to dinner together?"
Today, Hsu Fuping went to eat with her roommates, so Yue Ling was alone.
She thought Luh Fei would refuse, so Yue Ling just said it casually. She didn't expect Luh Fei to agree, which surprised her a little.
"The class monitor's mother used to study here, right? "Yue Ling asked - Meng Nuo was probably from the era of Luh Fei's mother - she wasn't a local, so it was better to ask Luh Fei, who was a local.
"That's right." Although he didn't know why Yue Ling asked this, Luh Fei still answered.
"Then do you know Meng Nuo?" Yue Ling didn't have much hope, but Luh Fei stopped and looked at her with a serious expression.
Eh? Did she ask the right person?
"Why are you asking this?"
Yue Ling also stopped, looked at Luh Fei, and told him everything. Of course, she hid the fact that Yin Tu was Ghost King.
"In the end, you were still with him last night," Luh Fei said with a smile, as if he was mocking himself for being so happy.
Under Yue Ling's puzzled gaze, Luh Fei told her what he knew.
Luh Fei's mother and Meng Nuo were classmates - Meng Nuo's dancing talent had attracted the attention of many of her classmates, and many of them were unhappy with her - some of them often bullied her because of her poor grades.
It was supposed to be a clumsy trick that wouldn't have killed her, but then one day, the news of Meng Nuo's death came. She'd died in the dance room.
"As soon as the news got out, the girls who'd bullied Meng Nuo panicked - my mother overheard that they'd locked the door to the dance room, so she couldn't get out."
Meng Nuo must have been terrified to be locked up alone in the dance room, and at that moment, the Earthbound Spirit took advantage of the situation and let Meng Nuo take her place.
"My mother had nothing to do with it. It was only later that the girls played a joke on her and got away with it."
"The cycle of karma. Those girls will also receive the retribution they deserve. Auntie, don't blame yourself. This has nothing to do with her in the first place."
Yue Ling didn't think Luh Fei's mother had done anything wrong. It wasn't wise to stand up in that situation. It was very likely that nothing had changed and she had gotten herself into trouble.
"That's what I told my mother." Luh Fei raised his head and smiled at Yue Ling, "It's all in the past now - saving Meng Nuo is one of my mother's worries."
Yue Ling nodded slightly, "Then, what about the self-study session..."
"Don't worry. When have I ever stopped helping you?" Luh Fei did not know how to reject Yue Ling.
With Luh Fei's promise, Yue Ling left school after school in the afternoon.
She played around with Yin Tu for a while and only got up to go to her destination when the sky was completely dark.
"Meng Nuo." Yue Ling called out softly as Meng Nuo appeared behind her, "Did the Spiritual Lady call me?"
"Why didn't you take revenge?" Meng Nuo had the ghost aura of the former Earthbound Spirit, so it was easy for her to deal with a few human girls, but she didn't.
"As the Spiritual Lady said, the cycle of karma will make them pay the price for everything they've done." Meng Nuo spoke indifferently, without a trace of resentment, but Yue Ling felt a sadness that Meng Nuo couldn't hide.
Yue Ling didn't ask again - Meng Nuo didn't want to say anything, so no matter how she asked, it wouldn't come to anything.
Soon, they arrived at their destination. Yue Ling looked at the house in front of her. It was covered with yellow talismans, which amused her. This was the first time she had seen a yellow talisman drawn by someone outside of the Yue family.
Just as he was about to go up and see what was going on, an old man came out and tore off the yellow talisman, muttering something under his breath.
Meng Nuo, who had been hiding behind Yue Ling, appeared as soon as she saw the old man and floated towards him. Unfortunately for her, the old man was just an ordinary person - even if she appeared, he wouldn't be able to see her.
As Yue Ling got closer, she realized that the old man was reading Meng Nuo's name - it seemed that the old man was Meng Nuo's mother.
"Grandma, do you want to see Meng Nuo?" The old man looked up at Yue Ling when he heard her name.
"Who are you? How can you let me see my daughter?" Even though the old man was surprised, he was still a little suspicious - after all, Yue Ling looked like a student.
Yue Ling laughed, and raised her left hand. A blue light flashed past, and the old man's turbid eyes became somewhat clear. She mechanically raised her head, and her eyes were filled with disbelief.
"Nuo'er..." Tears fell silently, and the old man choked with sobs, unable to speak. He just kept calling "Nuo'er," and Meng Nuo was already sobbing, tears of blood streaming down her face. It was terrifying.
Yue Ling looked inside the house and then looked around. Ghost Qi filled the air, and her obsession was too strong. She did not summon the ghost she wanted to see, but other ghosts.
"Grandma, it's time for Meng Nuo to leave," Yue Ling said softly as she helped the old man to sit down.
The old man was a sensible person - he knew that life couldn't be brought back to life. He just wanted to see his daughter - it was time for him to let go.
"Noel, I'm all right. My brother's grown up, he's married, he's got a daughter, she's as lovely as you were when you were little, we're all fine, I just missed you, I don't know if you're all right or not, but now that I've seen you, I'm relieved, don't worry, we're all fine, we're all fine."
Meng Nuo closed her eyes and knelt down, "Mom, it's my fault. Please take good care of yourself."
"Ah, let's go!"
Yue Ling put her palms together and used her own spiritual energy to activate the peach talisman. She looked at the peach talisman that was floating beside her. The last time she used a peach talisman was when she was very young.
"Yin and Yang, each of them has their own role. Flowers bloom on the other side, ghosts return. Go!" Yue Ling opened her hands, and the peach talisman floated in the air, surrounding the entire house.
Meng Nuo wasn't the only ghost here - of course, there was more than one.
As soon as the white light flashed, Meng Nuo disappeared along with the ghost in the house.
As Yue Ling turned around to leave, a soft "Thank you" sounded from behind her.
"Mom, why are you crying here?" A woman walked out.
"Nuo'er came."
"What? Mom, where is Nuo'er?" The woman was a little excited.
Halfway through, Yue Ling heard someone shout, Wait! She turned around and saw a woman running towards her.
"Yes, did you let Mom see Nono?" Was it because of Meng Nuo? Yue Ling nodded, "That's great - can, can you let me see Nono too?"
"Who are you to Meng Nuo?" Was she a friend?
"I'm Meng Nuo's widow."
Yue Ling was stunned for a moment before she shook her head, "Meng Nuo is no longer in this world."
"You wanted to see her, but you weren't in her mind." Yue Ling turned around and left. Behind her, the woman sat on the ground with tears streaming down her face as if her soul had been extracted.
At this moment, Yue Ling finally understood why Meng Nuo hadn't taken revenge.
What was even more painful than being separated from her forever was that Meng Nuo didn't want to see her again - who could she blame?
"I just like you," Meng Nuo said carefully, her face full of pain.
"Then you can stay here for the night, I'll think about it."
"Alright."
Even though I know that you're just teasing me, I still can't help but look forward to seeing if you'll give me a chance tomorrow.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Meng Nuo - can you come back? I was wrong.
