C1 One

The Carlisle castle stood in it's height, the victory of it shining in it's glory across the dark nights, it's legacy engraved within it's brick walls; legacies of it's past rulers from generation to generation.

The Perdio castle stood facing the Eastside of the Blood Moon Park, a pack that flocked with prestigious wolf members and riches that many packs only wished they had.

For many years, Alpha Shane had ruled after his father who had died during a war at the Black river. A war that had seemed to last for decades. But tonight Shane stood tall before his window, knowing exactly what was coming. There was no warning bell now, nothing to tell his people what was about to happen.

His eyes glided over the village, over his people as he sulked in a sharp breath.

He wished he had found his mate sooner. Maybe he could've avoided this humiliation. After losing the war to the Blue moon park a month ago, the talk had never stopped, the fear, the agitation.

He knew losing the war was a big shame to him. During the last council meeting, the talk had been all about his mate, his beta Roy had made sure of it.

" We lost to the bloody blue moon, that's the problem Alpha " he had roared, veins popping out across his forehead and neck.

He was just as pissed as Shane was but he didn't have the right to be so blunt about it. Before Shane could reply, a member spoke.

" We lost a war Roy, we didn't lose our home "

" I don't think it's a good idea for us to wait till we lose our home before doing something fast " Roy shot back.

" And what do you suggest, Beta? " Chris had asked him, obviously tired of his edgy attitude.

" I suggest that we take the blue moon park by surprise. Tonight "

" That's enough, Roy " Shane finally cut him off, causing him to turn an angry look at him. Shane looked away from him, irritated by his eagerness to start a war as the minutes passed by.

" We will not start a war that. . . . . . ."

" I think it's clear enough, Alpha, " elder Jeffery spoke " we need a Luna. It's high time, don't you think? We'll never be feared without one. We aren't strong without her by your side "

Alpha Shane opened his mouth to reply, wanted to tell him that that's just bullshit, that he could survive without a Luna and not how he made it out to be, that they could actually win a war without a Luna's support but instead shut his mouth again because he realized he wanted her just as much.

He had never stopped searching for her. For ten years he'd been searching, before he wore the crown on his head, before he became the Alpha but as far and wide as he searched ,he realized he wasn't anywhere near him. He didn't know where she was but he knew he would find her one day.

The park members had become restless and worried about this. The fear of doom for not having a Luna by their side was foreboding.

Thinking about it now, Shane realized it's been another month and the war is still waging somewhere and yet, he's yet to find her.

Shane heard the clicking of the unmistakable high leather booths of his sister, Henrietta and turned around to see her walking in.

Henrietta was two years younger than him and at twenty four, she still didn't believe in dressing up like a woman. I didn't blame her. She'd been trained to be a warrior just like I was and when our last parent died, she'd been forced to keep to herself what she started.

Henrietta had had many marriage proposals in the past years but she'd never had any interests in them. She believed her place was here in the castle, with me. And until she found her mate, she wasn't going to settle with the "scumbags" who lost their mates, only to make her a replacement.

" Are you still bothered about Roy? " She asked him as she got closer to him.

"I'm not, Henrietta " he sighed regardless.

Placing a palm on his shoulder, she looks into his eyes and continued " you know it wasn't your fault, right? What happened at that battlefield. And it isn't because you haven't found her. You would find her, okay? "

Shane watches his little sister and wished things had turned out differently. She was always looking out for him, forgetting about her own self. He wished he could set her free but she was too stubborn.

" I am fine, Henrietta " Shane tried to smile " now go to sleep okay? "

Henrietta knew there was more than he's willing to tell her, she could sense it but she was not about to bother him tonight. He needed all the rests he could get..

She plants a firm smile on her lips before nodding and turning towards the door. She walks out into the dimly lit passageway where her maid stood waiting for her.

There was an eerie feeling about the night, about the darkness today. She looked past her maid, saw the guards that lined around, guarding the Alpha's room.

She decides there was something terribly wrong somewhere. She turns around slowly, and starts to walk out of the hallway, eyes moving to the sides, watching for the slight movement. She walked poised, ready to fight anytime.

Meanwhile, back at the Alpha's passway, the guards stood attentively, their spheres and weapons held tight on each hands. Then from behind, soldiers came out from their hiding spots, in the dark corners behind every guard, quickly putting a knife to their throats and slitting them open before the guards could even detect their movements.

Countless numbers of the Alpha's guards were slaughtered mercilessly.
