Ashley laughed and asked, "What do you think the Duke's Mansion is? "Ning Huan is one of the people at the heart of Windsor and is well protected by him. As long as she doesn't leave the Duke's Mansion, I won't be able to catch her."

Anything is possible," said the lady. "I'm sure you'll find a way. A person would have a soft spot, not to mention she was a woman who was pregnant, so a child must be a weak spot, right? "Since you can't capture her, you should put some medicine on her, right? But in order to get the antidote, didn't she obediently leave the Duke's Mansion?

Ashley frowned. "You make it sound so easy. Where am I supposed to find the right poison? If we don't choose the right poison, we might die. When that happens, Windsor and the others will definitely go crazy and kill us all."

The charming lady said, "Don't worry. I've already prepared the medicine for you. As long as you consume the antidote within three days, it will be harmless to the child."

Ashley asked, "What if you don't accept the antidote within three days?"

A cold light flashed in the eyes of the charming lady. "Then, the child in her stomach will turn into a pool of blood."

Ashley stared at her. "You're vicious."

The seductive lady said, "If it's not evil, how could it be possible to get what you want? This world has never been fair, and good people will never be able to recover. "

"..."

Ashley returned to the palace, walked around his large living room twice, and took out the medicine Madame Charming had given him. He stared at it for a while, wondering how he could get it into the Duke's Mansion without letting Ning Huan take it.

His gaze immediately fell upon the gift box placed in the corner of the living room. He called a maid over and asked, "What is that?"

The maid replied, "That's a gift box prepared by the madame. It is to be delivered to the Duke's Mansion tomorrow. The other madams have sent gifts to celebrate the Duchess' pregnancy. Only our madame hasn't sent them yet."

Ashley asked, "Is our lady on good terms with the Duchess?"

The maid replied, "Not bad. The duchess likes to eat rose cakes, but the rose cakes made by the baker of the palace are not genuine. Our wife learned to make rose cakes from the baker a few years back when she was still studying in the imperial capital, so she often makes rose cakes to visit the duchess."

Ashley nodded. "Where's Madame?"

The maid replied, "It seems to be in the bedroom."

Ashley started toward the stairs. "I'll see her," he said.

"..."

Ashley pushed open the bedroom door and saw Princess Ashe sitting on the sofa, reading a book. Princess Ashe was not particularly beautiful, only average in looks, but she was a well-educated woman with an extraordinary temperament.

Since she had married Ashley, Ashley had not been home much. He had been out all the time, and Princess Ashe had ignored him and allowed him to play outside. She could only be at ease with what he was doing.

The reason Ashley had dared to eat so much outside all these years was because he knew that Ashe had liked him since he was a child, and so he had willingly married him because of Ashe's fondness for him. He was certain that no matter how excessive he was, Ashe would not be willing to leave him.

Among other things, Ashley was one of the more handsome princes of the royal family. He had a pair of sapphire-like eyes that gave others the illusion that he was deeply in love when he focused on others.

Ashley walked over to Ashe and asked in a gentle voice, "What kind of book are you reading? Why are you reading so intently?"

Princess Ashe looked up at Ashley, a little shocked in her heart. Even if Ashley returned, he would usually just fall asleep without even saying a word to her. She felt dreamy that he would use such a gentle tone to talk to her today.

Princess Ashe came back to her senses and replied, "It's' Pride and Prejudice '."

Ashley nodded, not really interested in what she was reading. "What are your plans for tomorrow?" he asked.

Princess Ashi was surprised for a long time before she replied, "Tomorrow I will go to see the Duchess and bring her some gifts and some roses."

Ashley followed Princess Ashe's words with feigned surprise. "You can make rose cakes?"

Ashi nodded. "Yes, I learned it in school from a pastry chef in Beijing. Duchess is from Beijing, so she thinks that the cake I made has a taste of home. Do you want to try it? I made it and left it in the refrigerator in the kitchen."

Ashley nodded. "I think I'm a little hungry. Go get me some."

Ashe felt flattered again. She knew Ashley did not like sweets, and she had only been polite for a moment, but he actually wanted a taste. She stood up and said, "I'll go get it now."

Ashley sat on the sofa and waited. Ashe came in a moment later with a plate and said, "I made two plates and put them in the fridge, one of them, and I was going to give it to the Duchess, but that's okay. You eat first, or I'll give one to her tomorrow, and one of them will be enough for her."

Ashley nodded, picked up a rose cake, and popped it into his mouth. It tasted sweet, and Ashley didn't like sweets, so he ate only one.

Asher asked him expectantly, "Is it delicious?"

Ashley nodded. "It's good, but I don't like sweets. Just try one, and I'll put the rest in the fridge. You take it to the Duchess tomorrow."

Ashe nodded without thinking too much into it. "Alright then, you go and put it away. I'll go and get you a bath."

Ashley carried his plate down the stairs and opened the refrigerator. As he did, he saw another plate of rosecakes, and he took out the medicine that Mrs. Charming had given him. For safety's sake, he put some on both plates, making sure that every rosecake had been spilled before he closed the door.

When Ashley was done, he went back upstairs. Assi said, "The bath is ready. Go take a bath."

Ashley nodded and went into the bathroom. By the time Ashley was out of the shower, Ashe was asleep in bed, her long, dark brown hair half covering her face. The light in the bedroom was dim, but it made her skin pale.

Ashley pulled back the covers on the bed and studied Ashe in the dim light. After being married for so long, he realized for the first time that Ashe actually looked pretty good. Her eyelashes were very long and she looked like she was sleeping, like a doll a little girl might play with.

Ashley sighed, feeling suddenly guilty. He had taken advantage of this silly woman who had been so devoted to him for so long to achieve his goal, but suddenly he reached out and took Ashe into his arms and put her to sleep.
