C11 MY MATE

"I'm Alpha Raymond." The man said and offered his hand, and I looked at his hand and then back at him. He swallowed loudly and placed his hand down, "I wanted to personally apologize-" He started to say, but growled, "I want to." He stopped again as canines extended from his mouth. His body shook as a growl fell from his lips, "I'm sorry." He said after a moment. His hazel eyes turned light as he looked up to me, "I am so, so very sorry." His eyes glowed and were almost pure gold. His wolf, but before he could stare at me anymore, they started to dim back to his hazel eyes.

Raymond waited for me to say something, but I only looked at him. After a moment, I reached out and touched his hand. I could feel my heart flutter, but nothing more as I gave it a small squeeze and released him. Raymond, however, looked as if he had just gotten the biggest prize. A smile fell on his lips and then fell off when he looked at me, "You didn't feel that?" He asked, I slowly shook my head and lifted my arm, "Well, when you are off the drugs, you should try to do that again." Raymond said and smiled towards me.

Without thinking, I nodded as he looked around the room, "Is there anyone you would like me to call? I saw that you were marked. I could call your mate if you-" My head quickly shook. I winced at the pain as I shook my head and looked at him with wide eyes. Alpha Raymond watched me and nodded.

Alpha Raymond and I sat in silence for a while until he shifted in his seat, "I should let you rest." He said as he looked at me. My eyes found him, and I shook my head. I shouldn't feel like this, but something told me it would be okay. He hasn't killed me yet, and if he did, I hoped my death would be quick.

But, even knowing the consequences, I grabbed the side of his shirt before he could move. I hid my face from his shocked hazel eyes as I held onto the white fabric, "Alright, I'll stay." Raymond said and grabbed a hold of my hand.

Only then did I feel the zap, the warm sensation. The anesthesia was slowly wearing off, and I could feel the comfortable sensation I got when I touched him. I could smell his musky scent clearly than before. It smelled wonderful as I took in another deep scent, letting out a soft sigh.

I heard him chuckle as he leaned against the bed. I looked towards him, and then I realized why I felt some comfort with him, "You're my mate." Raymond said the words as soon as I realized it was true.

Raymond’s smirk lifted the side of his face as he held my hand. There was happiness in his eyes and rage, without the pain medicine to give me faith, I took my hand back and closed my eyes.

My Mate? I have a mate? Why do I have a mate? What do I do with a mate? Why did he ask me if I had a mate if he was my mate? Why does he smell so good? What should I do?

Questions ran through my head as I tried to keep my eyes away from my mate. I only knew a few things about mates; they were supposed to be your soulmate, your other half. I needed Liya; maybe she knew what we were supposed to do at this moment. One question outweighed the others: if he wasn't my mate, would he have saved me, or killed me? Slowly, I looked over to him, and as our eyes met, I knew he would have killed me. Even though I felt comfortable with him, I was fearful of the large man. His hand was the size of my face; he could kill me in a second if he wanted to.

We sat in the room uncomfortably as he slowly started to speak, "Do you know where you are? My pack is named the Black Forest." Raymond said. My eyes widened slowly.

Elizabeth said only the vicious packs were named with the word black. Black meant dangerous, darkness, black like my old pack, which had allowed me to be abused. Black was the one word I didn't want my mate to say. I slowly scooted away from him and winced in pain as I looked at the other wall.

The tension grew as the heart monitor continued to beep loudly beside me. Before Raymond arrived, Amanda gave me the rundown of the room. When she was placing blankets on me, she told me what I needed to know and what I didn't need to know.

I could hear Raymond shift around in his chair; the sound of the leather expanding and squishing filled the room. "Did I do something wrong?" He asked in a hurt voice. Very slowly, I turned towards him,

"If you want space, I can leave. I'll never push you into anything you don't want to. Even if that is talking to me." He said and pouted softly. He seemed so clueless as he scratched the back of his head.

"The nurse says she can't speak." A man's voice said as a man in a white coat walked in. He bowed quickly towards Raymond, "Alpha.

"Dr. Linn," Aeron replied, but squinted his eyes ever so slightly as the man walked towards me.

"Amanda says that she's called you Jane." Dr. Linn said and offered a hand towards me,

"I'm Dr Linn, the Black Forest's pack doctor."

He said and smiled towards me.

Looking at his hand, I slowly looked at Raymond.
