C4 CAPTURED AGAIN
‘Rest, Maliya, I will take care of us.’
Those words were so comforting. So sure that I believed her. Her voice was so familiar as she took over our bodies and did something I could never do.
She escaped the Blue Moon Pack.
She got us out of the cell and into the summer air. As we walked out of the Blue Moon Pack’s territory, I wanted to cry. I wanted to cry and scream and, for once, maybe smile, a real smile. But she ignored my instincts and continued to run away from our enemy. We ran in no-man’s land. Only rogue wolves resided in these woods, and she was careful not to get too close to them.
Most of our journey, she took control, letting my body heal. We met some rogue wolves, and they offered us food and clothes. Soon Liya let me take control over and I got to swim and relax. Reminiscing about all the past traumas I had to undergo. After swimming, I sat under a tree to rest for a while, trying to get proper sleep.
‘Wake up!’ Liya ordered, and slowly I opened my eyes, feeling the cool air of the night. The moon made the forest into a blue haze as I slowly lifted my body and rubbed my eyes. Small ants fell from my chin and onto my hair as I blinked a few times. My body shook softly as I leaned against my hand, dumbfounded for a moment until I smelled them. My eyes widened as I looked at the three wolves in front of me, all of them baring their canines as they looked at me. The one in the middle shifted into a human and crossed his arms, and glared down at me.
“What are you doing here? You are in our territory!” he said with a growl.
My mouth opened to speak, but no words came out. I tried to form words, but nothing would fall from my moving tongue and mouth. I tapped my hands and pointed out to the forest, and showed my neck as a sign of submission. The man looked at me, confused, “You can’t speak?” he asked., I opened my mouth and shut it as I tired again. But, I couldn’t; it was strange, I couldn’t remember how to talk. More of how to move my tongue and use my voice. I wanted to smack myself, but I couldn’t show that behavior as the other two men shifted and smirked down at me.
“What do you think, Beta Jack?” One of the men asked. “We just lost our last rogue.”
“You know damn well if Alpha finds out, he will kill us”. The one who first shifted said as he turned towards me. He crouched down and placed a finger on my chin, “She looks much better than the last one did, that’s for sure.
The Beta, the first one who shifted, slowly licked his lips as he looked down at me. A small smile fell on his face, “Lucky for you, little rogue, you won’t be dying today. But you sure as hell are going to wish you did”. I watched as the other two grabbed me by the arms and lifted me off the ground. My feet stumbled to walk at their speed as I looked around me as we walked through the dark forest.
We were going further into a territory I knew nothing about, and Liya was not happy in this situation. ‘I’m sorry, I failed y. ’’. I couldn’t understand why she was getting upset.
Where was I going? What was going to happen to me? I didn’t say anything or give any problems as I walked behind them. We couldn’t take on three adult male wolves; I didn’t even think we could take on one. The men walked me to an open area and towards a brown shed that looked as if it was about to fall. They opened the wooden door and pushed me inside. I could smell the rotting wood as I fumbled in the darkness. They opened another wooden door, and I could see a set of stairs. They closed the door tightly behind them as they pushed me down.
I thought to myself as I started to resist them.
No! I just escaped! I wanted to scream as my feet touched a smooth, cold floor. I could feel tears fill my eyes as the men restrained me and yanked my body to the middle. Only then did I see a familiar wooden post. It wasn’t like the one my uncle h;d, this one was different. Instead of leaning on my knees, this one held my body up and encased it in the wood. My breathing picked up as I lay against the wood and looked around the darkness.
The Beta turned on a light and walked in front of me. His bottom lip pouted out as his finger slowly fell down my cheek, catching a tear that had escaped. “Don’t worry when the Alpha returns, you will be gone. Wouldn’t want to stretch you that much.” The man said and smirked. I looked at him, confused as he turned towards the other man, “Get the other”. He said in a cold tone.
