C19 Chapter 19
DIFFICULT to predict. That you already know that something change . . .something is wrong but you still believe what you know is right. You simply imprint on your mind the things you believe even when you see all the evidence in front of you.
Phoebe never thought that everything would change quickly. She was thinking that it was not like the others. She believes in her, that whatever she does or shows, she will retain that trust of her. Of course she's her bestfriend. She was her friends since elementary school.
She was also thinking. In fact, she has no right to be annoyed. Sawyer is her fake boyfriend — fiance after all. If he also likes ger friend, she has no right to stop or get angry with him.
"Hmm, I'm already hungry." She sighed when she saw him stirring the noodles.
Phoebe giggle when Sawyer glance at her before he give her a wink. So handsome. She dreamingly look at Sawyer's back. Even the back of him is still very sexy. Shw frowned as she stared at his back.
"Are you just staying here at home, Phoebe?" Laurel asked flatly.
She nodded. "Yes why?"
"I'll stay here too."
She paused for a moment before smiling broadly at her. She nodded to her friend one after another. She just dismissed the things she was thinking about her a while ago. She shouldn't be thinking about that.
“All right. Caldwell and the others will also come here later too. ”
"Okay." Then it looked at Sawyer. "After you cook you can eat, Sawyer."
He just nodded to her friend. When Laurel turned to her, she gulp. It's like she's insulting or something. She bow her head.
“You should let Sawyer eat first before you let him cook your pansit. I think he have been hungry," she told her seriously that make her surprise, she looked up at her friend again.
Laurel never gave her that expression and tone. It was always rude to her but the tone she used to her a while ago was different. She was rude to her but her voice was jolly. That was very different from the tone she was in now.
Phoebe can't prevent to bow her head more. Tears were forming in her eyes. What was her fault? Why is she like that to her? Has she been importunate for her?
“Tsk! What are you saying? I'm not hungry, Missy, stop blaming my Flower. ”
“H-Ha? I'm not blaming— ”
“Yeah yeah. And I offered to cook for her.” Sawyer approached her.
Maybe his done cooking. Her chest ached for no apparent reason. She didn't even think that he might be hungry either. She should just came in school and can delivered food to a friend. She should just let him eat first. Phoebe sighed to relieve the pain in her chest.
“Hey, Flower! Are you hungry already? I'm done cooking your pansit. You want to try it?”
"Ahm oka—" Laurel cut her off so she sighed again.
“Sawyer, can I try? I also want pansit.”
Sawyer turned to her while frowning. “That's only for my flower. Cook yours, Missy, I just cooked that for my Fiance. "
"Phoebe, can I eat too?" Laurel turned to her while pouting her lips.
“Huh? Oh yes— ”
“No. I won't let you.” Sawyer stood up and took a large tupperware then put all the pansit in there.
"Phoebe."
She looked at Sawyer as Laurel frowned at her even more. She did not know what to do... what to say.
"Sawyer Zane, you can share—"
“No! If I said no, it's a no Flower." He turned to Laurel. "You said you know how to cook then cook your own pansit. This," He raised the tupperware in front of them, "is only for my flower. You get it right? Tsk! ”
She was just surprised when Sawyer quickly pulled her into her room carrying the tupperware with only pansit. Annoyingly Sawyer sat her on the bed. She was confused at his action.
What happened him? Why is he so annoying? It was as if they had just cooked the food on the table together.
"Your rice ..." she said softly and muttered before glancing at the locked door.
"That's." He pointed to the food he had brought earlier. When she protest when he spoke again. “Just eat the rice if you don’t want the dish. Don't worry, Flower, no one helped me cook the rice. Unfortunately, I'm the only person who cook that rice.” She knew that. It's imposible if was Laurel.
She pout her lips. Suppressing the smile she played her hand. "Eat with me, huh?"
"Of course."
She looked at the door again. “How about Laurel outside? Can we give her some pansit?”
He shook his head hard. "I don't want. I don't want you to get jealous again because of her.”
“Why are you suddenly annoyed with her? And I'm not jealous of her, you're feeler.”
“She’s noisy. She has many questions, I'm bored. And I don't want her tone a while ago when she talk to you. Tsk! ”
"Hmm Laurel is kind."
"And so?"
She shook her head. "Nuh, I'm just saying it."
Sawyer stood up and set the small table. Fortunately, he put the rice and the dish separately earlier so they didn't have any trouble choosing it. Sawyer set aside the dish he and Laurel had cooked and placed the tupperware with pansit on her side.
“We ear together, aren't we? Why are you just sitting there? ” She noticed as he just sat in front of her and stared at her.
"Can I just look at you until you finish eating?"
She blushed. "You won't be satisfied with that."
"You're not sure, Flower."
She laughed. "Come here. I'll morsel you, do you like?”
His eyebrows were raised at the same time as the corner of his lip was raised. He seemed pleased with what she said. He quickly lifted the chair towards her side. She just laughed even harder.
“I like your idea. I will not say no to that.”
"Yeah, obviously."
They ate together. Sawyer get the fork and scoop exactly the amount of pansit. He spilled that on Phoebe. They just morsel each other in the end.
"Ah, I'm full." He even rubbed his stomach.
"You're gluttonous."
“You are also. You ate twice before you morsel me again,” he said teasingly before messing up her hair.
"Hey, stop it! I fixed that earlier.” She even slapped his hand.
"It'll be messy later."
“What do you mean by that? What will you do?" Her eyes widened as she stood up from her chair when she saw him grin.
He also stood up then slowly approached her, she step back. She was swallowed up by nervousness.
"Why are you stepping back?"
"Because you're approaching!" She sighed.
When she saw him running towards her and she also ran away. They runt circled around the room.
“Sawyer Zane, you fool! Waaah hahahaha stop it!”
Sawyer caught her. He hugged her from behind before tickling her. He made her laugh. She shook her head so that he would stop.
"Hahaha d-dont hahaha want pfft." She still struggled with him but he only hugged her tigt.
"Make me stop, Flower."
She struggled even harder. "Stop it, Sawyer Zane, please."
“I won’t. Not until you call me 'honey'. ”
She couldn't help but laugh especially as he tickled her more on the side. She tickled really hard there.
"S-Stop, Sawyer hahahahaha."
"Call me 'Honey' first then I'll stop."
"No." Then shook her head.
"Then I won't stop." Sawyer tickled her even more so she struggled. She slapped the arm of him who wrapped around her.
“Hahha S-Sawyer! North help! ” she shouts the friend's name even though they are not there.
They heard a knock. Maybe it was Laurel, she was the only one with them in the house. She thought Sawyer would stop but didn't. He made her tickle even more.
"Madee?" That was Caldwell's voice.
Are they here right away? Did he said it was still this afternoon? It's only ten o'clock. She was about to answer when Sawyer tickled her again.
"Hahahah Sawyer, I don't want to hahaha."
"Tell me the magic word then."
“Madee? What’s going on there? ” They ignored the voice outside their room.
"Hahaha alright, alright. I'll tell you hahaha."
"Magic word?"
She tried to face him, and he did not object. Her eyebrows rose at him, he put more pressure on her body. Phoebe sighed. Why is he still handsome even though his sweat so much?
"H-Honey, please stop." He even put her arm around his neck.
He was wide smile but until she could feel the lip of him on her forehead. She was still close, biting the tightest hug around his neck.
"Are we going out?" She nodded at him so Phoebe was surprised when he bent down to lift her up like a newlywed.
“Sawyer Zane? Take me down. I can walk you know.”
“Stop calling my name from now on. I love the way you call me 'Honey'.”
Surprisedly, she looked at his face. “Huh? Eh I'm shy --- ”
"I will ignore you if you don't call me that." Her boyfriend's was is as fake as mineral water said.
"Okay." She didn't want to argue with him anymore, he might be hard to tickle her again.
She was already hoarse. They left the room. Phoebe frowned when she saw friends at all their doors. Their arms were crossed and they were wrinkled as they stared at them.
"I thought you were feeling bad?" Ziegler asked rudely.
"It's really bad." She pointed at Sawyer with a grin on his face as he stared at her. He didn't even look at his abnormal friends. "This Sawyer Zane is tickling me. He tickles me. You heard it, didn't you? ” She snorted even more.
“Loud and clear, Phoebe. The loud of your voice," Kale replied to her then sat on the couch.
"Is my voice loud?" She looked up at Sawyer who now had Caldwell's eyes . "Is it true Sawyer Zane?"
But he ignored her. Until she realize something. She lick her lips.
"Honey?"
He bowed then he chuckled. Sawyer kissed her forehead then he walked towards the couch. He sat there so what happened next was she was on his lap.
"Of course not. Just right.” He was laughing while saying it.
His hand brushed her hair, she leaned against his chest. She think she was suddenly drowsy.
“Honey, please stop that, I'm sleepy. I want to talk to them.” He followed her.
“What the hell, Princess?! A little respect for singles here, hmm. The bite of the ants hurts,” Ziegler blurbed.
His noise. She just leered at him and faced her other friend. "Have you eaten? You can eat again.”
"I like that. I thought you wouldn't ask us again. Let's go, eat.” North and Ziegler quickly ran into the kitchen.
She just laughed and shook her head. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at what was left. “Don't you? Don't be artistic, I'm sure those two will eat all the food.”
They were stunned until their eyes gradually widened. She laughed out loud as fast as four o'clock the ones left earlier ran away.
“You cooked pansit, Phoebe? Where is it?" Harkin shouted from the kitchen.
"Sawyer cooked her, Harkin, she didn't give it to me," they heard Laurel answer.
She was also in the kitchen. She did not know what she do. She grabbed Sawyer's hand because of what Laurel said, eyebrows met. She? Sawyer doesn’t want to give it, why is she the one saying it?
“Don’t mind her,” Sawyer whispers to her that make her nod.
“Phoebe doesn't want to give away? That's impossible Laurel, we know Phoebe isn't like that. Then maybe Sawyer cooked it for her, and Sawyer doesn't want to give it to you.” Kale paused for a moment before they heard it clap. "I'm sure—"
“Cook us, Laurel. We also like pansit,” Ziegler said loudly making Kale stop on what he said.
Laurel was stunned for a moment. “Its a miracle, you don't like my cooking. Tsk! I really don't want to burn down Phoebe's house. ”
“No choice, then it's okay if the pansit you cooked are on fire. North and Caldwell will eat that for sure,” Ziegler laughed.
Moments later she heard his pain. Laurel definitely pinched him. Laurel also hurts pitching because she pinch like her. They are bestfriend, what do you expect. Phoebe smiled and just listened to them talk in the kitchen. Sawyer also hugged her quietly as if it was enough to hug her to keep quiet.
