C19 Will you abandon me?

Zhang Yuqi had become completely detached from the outside world after that incident. Her father remarried but the stepmother did nothing but squander money all day long. Then her father forced her to learn about their business from an early age, so she never really had time for herself.

When she was 14, she met Ouyang Ziyuan for the first time. His appearance brought a ray of light in her gloomy world. He was different from others who scorned her. He always protected her from those bullies and schemes. He cared for her and helped her every time she needed help. Her school-life had become a lot easier and happier because of him.

Yuqi loved him since the very first day. He was bright and caring, no one had ever spoken to her so politely. At first, she wanted to tell him her feelings. She was sure he would accept her, because he treated her better than any other girl in school. But, one day she saw a girl confess to him and get rejected, although she was good friends with Ouyang Ziyuan.

This made Zhang Yuqi lose her confidence and she decided to love him secretly until Ouyang Ziyuan comes to her.

10 years passed, but he never once had the intention to date her. Yuqi thought she was being obvious enough with her hints, but he never seemed to get them. Now she understood why!

It would be a lie if she said that she wasn't hurting. The day she knew about Youwei and Ziyuan's relationship, her heart hurt so much that she could die. After all it was something she had for 10 years.

But when she met Lu Zitian, she felt an emotion she had never encountered before. He made her feel safe and protected. Although his personality was cold and indifferent, it held a certain charm that attracted her unexplainably.

What was this emotion?

Love?

But, this was only the third time she met him!

Furthermore, whenever she thought about him, she felt all the sadness within her vanish. Was she falling for him?

Impossible!!!

From what she knew of Lu Zitian, he was dangerous. An icy devil like him would never have feelings for someone. Furthermore, she was also from a fairly rich family, she knew their thinking. Lu Zitian must not have told his parents otherwise they would never have allowed a girl like her to get married into their family as the future Matriarch of the Lu Family.

She would not make the same mistake of loving in vain again. Even if she did love him, it wasn't necessary to be together with this person. She would rather look at him from afar, than get hurt in the process of loving him.

Zhang Yuqi sat there in a daze. She had not realised that someone had already entered the bedroom and was admiring her from the door.

After settling a few documents, Lu Zitian came to call Zhang Yuqi down for lunch, but saw her sitting on the bed, her eyes lost.

What was she thinking to be so lost and not even hear the sound of the door opening?

Was she thinking of her old flame? Ouyang Ziyuan?

Thinking of those things she did for that man in Ye Chen's report, insecurities rose in Lu Zitian's heart.

He clenched his fists.

Was she not attracted to him at all?

Did she still love Ouyang Ziyuan?

A glint of light passed through Lu Zitian's eyes, as if a storm was brewing in them.

He realised that his emotions were getting out of control with each passing day. The attraction he had towards Zhang Yuqi was completely irrational!

He felt so impatient and eager that he was afraid of doing something that would hurt her. Today was only the fourth time they met, including the time a year ago, yet he felt such extreme emotions for her. He didn't know if this was love. The only thing he knew now, was that he wanted her all to himself and could not bear to lose her.

Until now, what she had known were his best sides. He didn't want his dark side to be exposed to her.

He whispered in a low voice, "I am not a good person Yuqi. I don't want to lose you. But if you see the true me one day, will you abandon me?"
