C2 A lost chance
Zhang Yuqi felt warm sun rays hitting her face and a faint breeze. She opened her eyes slightly and realised it was morning already. She let out a sigh as she remembered last night. Even after countless times of getting drunk, feeling sad and getting lost in those painful memories, her heart still would race at Ziyuan's name.
She stood up as a wave of nausea and dizziness struck her and she felt a pounding pain on her head. Standing up with much difficulty, she headed to the bathroom for a warm shower. Luckily it was the weekend and she could stay home for the rest of the day! She turned on the shower and let the warm water flow down her body as she thought back to how Ziyuan had gotten a new girlfriend again. Actually he has this way ever since they had graduated from college. He would get a new girlfriend every 3 months and then dump her and get another. Although he was a playing around, she knew from his friends that he had never gone further than holding hands with any of his girlfriends. She had thought that he was trying to show off in front of her, to make her jealous so that she would confess.
'No!.....Ziyuan loves me!.....he definitely does!...because he had....he had.....', thinking of that fateful night, Zhang Yuqi blushed red. It was on her last birthday. She had drunk a lot that day and when she woke up the next day, she found herself sore and naked on the hotel's bed. In the adjacent room, she had heard Ziyuan ordering her favourite dishes. Although she often wondered why Ziyuan never mentioned that night, she dismissed it thinking that he would soon propose to her. From that day onwards, Ziyuan had also treated her very well and they often went on dinners together.
But as time passed, the proposal never came and Ziyuan still played around with his girlfriends. Yuqi felt insecure as time passed but she did not have the courage to ask him about it. These 10 years she had silently loved him with all she had. She had thought of confessing many times but she couldn't because she thought, 'What if he is just being kind? What if I am just a friend to him? then our friendship will be ruined!'
But thinking of the past few months, she felt eyes fill up again. In the last few months, Ziyuan had rarely met up with her and hers text were also often ignored. Why was he avoiding her? Did he fall for someone else? "NO!!......", Yuqi yelled out. She comforted herself thinking that he must be busy as he was going to take over Ouyang group in the next year.
After the bath, she felt much better and took out a few leftovers to warm up. Suddenly, her phone rang, and seeing a name flash, she felt a headache coming.
"hello?"
"Hello? Ahh...my dear cousin!!...I have a very good news to tell you...."
"So?"
"So?....ofcourse I called you to tell that I and Ziyuan gege are getting engaged next week and we'll marry in 2 months!..hehe...."
"you are getting married?....good for yo---.......... WHAT DID YOU SAY?"
"Hehe....You heard it right my darling cousin!....it's time for you to give up....Ziyuan gege will never be yours!! "
"................" 'CRASH'. Yuqi felt her grip on the phone loosen and it dropped.
'Ziyuan gege getting married?.......no....no.....NO!!!......this is definitely not true!!!!'. Ziyuan would never do such a thing. He had always told her whenever he did anything important. Moreover, they have even shared a loving night together. He would never leave her alone this way. Yuqi felt the world around her spin and at the last moment she only had on thought, 'Ziyuan, did you ever love me? even for a short while?'
Zhang Yuqi was 24 this year. She was 175cm tall, quite an impressive height for women. Fair and silk like skin, a pair of sparkling hazel coloured almond-shaped eyes, a sharp nose and red plump lips, that gave you an urge to bite them. She was beautiful but the most important part of her beauty was that soft and curvy body, an S shaped body which made every woman feel jealous. And lastly her pair of long and straight legs. She was an unusual mixture of an innocent and a seductive beauty.
She had heard a lot of people praising her, but the only person she wanted to notice her beauty was getting married.
She was left alone once again.
