C1 I Beg You!
In her twenty-three years, Jee Ange had never felt this nervous and anxious before.
The reflection in the mirror showed a woman with bright eyes and a confident smile, her shoulder-length hair giving her a sharp, efficient look. She wore a loose white chiffon blouse and black casual slacks, exuding an air of striking charisma. Yet, at this moment, Jee Ange's expression was tinged with apprehension.
Her cheeks flushed slightly as she took another swig of the remaining red wine. "Come on, Jee Ange! It's the modern age. It's just one night, right? What's the big deal?" she muttered, taking another gulp.
Her father's words echoed in her mind from before she left: "Ange, everything depends on you this time... I know it's unfair, but our family is in deep debt. They threatened to break my legs and leave me in the wilderness... They came to collect yesterday, and it terrified your mother... We're really at the end of our rope. I've contacted a wealthy businessman. He promised us half a million if you spend the night with his important guest."
Half a million was an astronomical figure for the Jee family.
Ange's mother worked in retail, earning barely a couple of thousand a month, while her father was unemployed, having racked up tens of thousands in gambling debts.
For the sake of her family, Jee Ange had to make a choice.
And so, she found herself here, waiting.
Suddenly, the door swung open, and Jee Ange's heart raced. Her mind instantly conjured the image of a sleazy middle-aged man. To muster her courage, she deliberately avoided looking directly at him, downing the entire bottle of wine before he entered the room.
As she stood, Jee Ange felt dizzy. "So, you're the jerk looking for a woman? Well, here I am. Lucky you, it's my first time!" Her words were slurred, but she forced herself to act indifferent about the situation. Her vision blurred, she could barely make out the man's features—tall, with distinct, chiseled features and an intimidating presence.
The man glanced at Ange, a hint of mockery in his eyes, and said coldly, "Playing innocent?"
As he approached her, his presence was overwhelming, clouding her mind. It took her a moment to process his words before she managed to retort, "Who's pretending?!"
The smell of alcohol on her was off-putting to him. He frowned, pushing her away with disdain, his voice emotionless, "Get out before I lose my temper."
His words sobered her up a bit. This man didn't like her? Didn't want anything to do with her?
Ange felt as if she'd been struck, her thoughts racing. She quickly grabbed his wrist, her demeanor softening. "I misspoke earlier, don't be mad. Honestly, I'm not bad-looking..."
She clumsily tried to entice him, moving closer. Her lips were temptingly near, but he averted his gaze, gripping her chin with a sharp, icy look. "Is it for money?"
Her throat tightened, and she nodded hesitantly.
"So, money's all it takes to sell yourself," he said, his eyes dark and voice laced with thinly veiled anger.
"Get out!" The last words were almost a shout.
Ange stood there, hands clenched tightly. She bit her lip, about to leave, but then remembered her father's warning—if she failed this time, she dreaded what awaited her at home.
What did it matter if she was humiliated?
Perhaps emboldened by the alcohol, she didn't leave. Instead, she wrapped her arms around him, the smell of liquor reaching his nose, making him look increasingly displeased. Oblivious, she buried her face in his chest, her voice slightly muffled, "Please... I need this... My dad's in debt from gambling, I just graduated, no income, and my mom's been working retail for years. We have no savings..."
"If I don't pay off the debt soon, my dad's life is on the line."
"I'm begging you..."
If she were sober, Jee Ange would never stoop so low. But she had no other options and had taken a drink for courage, so she spoke up.
The man initially intended to push Jee Ange's hand away, but paused mid-air.
At that moment, Jee Ange quickly stood on her tiptoes, offering her lips. The cold touch brought her a bit back to her senses, but a warmth began to spread through her body.
