C12 Being Bullied!
Lan Qingyue chatted animatedly with Mrs. Qin, while Jee Ange sat quietly nearby, feeling like she was invisible. The conversation wrapped up with Mrs. Qin saying a simple "Thank you."
Suddenly, Jee Ange felt someone staring at her. It was Lan Qingyue, her tone shifting from sweet to sharp: "Hey! Do you even know your place?"
"...Huh?" Jee Ange was taken aback.
"Aren't you just a maid? What do you think you're doing? I'm talking with Mrs. Qin, and you think you have the right to listen?"
"I..." Jee Ange was at a loss for words, realizing she should probably be doing her duties instead. She felt she had overstepped.
With that thought, Jee Ange quickly stood up. "I'm... I'm sorry, I'll leave right away."
Mrs. Qin's expression darkened. In her heart, Jee Ange was already part of the family, and she didn't appreciate Lan Qingyue's behavior on their turf. But due to her father's connections, Mrs. Qin couldn't say much. She felt sorry for Ange.
Jee Ange thought the matter was over, but just as she was about to leave, Lan Qingyue stopped her.
"Hold on!" Lan Qingyue called out, clearly not ready to let it go. "Get me a glass of water!"
"Yes, Miss Lan," Jee Ange sighed in relief, thinking it was just a simple task. Maybe Lan wasn't as bad as she seemed.
Remembering her previous experience, Jee Ange quickly poured a glass of warm water for Lan Qingyue. But instead of gratitude, she was met with a tirade.
"Did I ask for warm water? Do you think someone like me deserves just plain water at the Qin's? Get me some juice," Lan Qingyue demanded, adding, "How could the Qin family have such an oblivious maid?"
Jee Ange took a deep breath and handed Lan Qingyue a glass of blueberry juice, only to be scolded again.
"I said orange juice! Orange juice! When did I ever ask for blueberry juice? Seriously, what a fool!"
Jee Ange quietly stepped back again.
After triple-checking, she handed the glass to Lan Qingyue for the third time, thinking she was finally done with the ordeal. But suddenly, she found herself drenched in orange juice.
Lan Qingyue, holding the glass with an arrogant expression, handed it back to her, sneering disdainfully in her ear, "Consider this a return."
"Enough!" Qin Xiao exclaimed as he walked into the house, taking in the scene.
He stepped forward, looking directly at Lan Qingyue, and said deliberately, "You can leave now."
Lan Qingyue chose to ignore his words, grabbing his hand and saying, "Qin Xiao, you're back! It's been so long since we last saw each other..."
"You can leave now," Qin Xiao repeated, cutting her off, his voice tinged with anger.
Lan Qingyue glanced at Qin Xiao, feeling a bit upset, but she turned to Mrs. Qin and said calmly, "Well then, Mrs. Qin, Qin Xiao, I'll be going now. See you next time."
As Lan Qingyue walked out the door, Qin Xiao turned his cold gaze to Jee Ange, leaving her feeling a bit lost.
Mrs. Qin, claiming not to disturb their time together, had already retreated to her room.
After a while, Qin Xiao spoke, "How long do you plan on standing there?"
"Well... then I'll be going," Jee Ange said, ready to make her escape, but Qin Xiao stopped her just as she took a step.
"Wait."
Qin Xiao looked up and asked, "Are you oblivious? Can't you see Lan Qingyue was targeting you?"
Jee Ange was taken aback. Miss Lan did have a bit of a temper, but targeting her? That seemed unlikely.
While she was still in a daze, Qin Xiao suddenly pulled her, causing her to lose her balance and fall into his arms.
