C17 They Were Actually Kidnapped!

After hearing various explanations, she was directed to the Human Resources department.

"Hi everyone, my name is Jee Ange. I look forward to working with you all."

And so began her first day at WELL.

Jee Ange had just taken a seat when her immediate supervisor called her in. The HR manager—Chu Di.

*Knock knock.*

The office door was open, but Jee Ange politely knocked anyway.

"Come in," said the man who had been sitting with his back to the door. As she entered, Jee Ange was taken aback. This didn’t look like an office at all! The walls were covered in graffiti, the curtains were bright and colorful, and the bookshelves were filled with comic books...

While Jee Ange was taking in the unique office, the owner of the office was also sizing her up.

Not bad, definitely different from those flashy types. No wonder Qin Xiao gave her "special treatment."

Yes, the "Qin" he referred to was Qin Xiao. The Chu and Qin families were close, and coincidentally, when Qin's mother was pregnant, Mrs. Chu also became pregnant a month later. They made a pact that if they had a boy and a girl, they would become in-laws.

Unfortunately, when Chu Di was born, the dream of becoming in-laws was shattered.

"If we can't be in-laws, let's be brothers," they said.

Thus, Chu Di and Qin Xiao were bound for life. As kids, they were inseparable, in high school they were roommates, and in the military, they were "brothers in arms." Later, Chu Di, unable to withstand the "boredom" of military life and not wanting to be constrained by his parents, joined Qin's family company as a junior manager.

Chu Di was lively, enthusiastic, and carefree, with a charming demeanor. In contrast, Qin Xiao was seen by everyone as the cool, aloof type. But as Chu Di would say, he was just a stubborn guy. Despite their vastly different personalities, their friendship had lasted over twenty years.

The so-called special treatment was actually because Qin Xiao personally assigned Jee Ange to his department. Chu Di, in his self-assured way, thought Qin Xiao must have considered Jee Ange very important to entrust her to his best friend. But in reality, it was simply because Jee Ange's skills matched the department's needs.

After a while, Jee Ange started feeling a bit uneasy under his gaze and spoke up, "Um, supervisor..."

"Oh, oh, oh." Chu Di snapped back to reality, putting his thoughts aside.

"You're Jee Ange, right? I'm Chu Di. Everyone in HR calls me Big Di, so you can call me that too. Welcome aboard," Chu Di introduced himself.

"Big Di? Big Dee, hahaha!" Jee Ange couldn't hold back and burst into laughter.

"It's Big Di, not Big Dee! It's Boss Chu Di! Big Di!" Chu Di quickly clarified.

Seeing Chu Di's expression grow more and more awkward, she tried to stifle her laughter, but the amusement was still evident on her face.

"Alright, alright, call me whatever you want," Chu Di said, giving up.

With that, Jee Ange couldn't hold it in anymore, "Hahahahaha!"

"Okay, okay, you can leave now," Chu Di said, turning away, his head full of exasperation.

"Sure thing, Big Dee, I'm off to work!" Jee Ange said playfully as she left. She thought to herself, this boss isn't bad at all, completely different from the stern old man she imagined.

After calming herself down, she got to work, mentally cheering herself on: Jee Ange, you got this!

On her first day at WELL, everything went smoothly. Until the end of the day, Jee Ange thought it was a great start.

"I'm heading out, Ange. You should leave soon too."

"Okay, see you tomorrow." Jee Ange's friendly nature made her popular, and she quickly bonded with her coworkers on her first day. The last colleague from HR working late, Xiao Xiao, also packed up to head home.
