C4 Blackmail!

“Once Ange joined your family, she became one of you. Besides, that night she was with you...”

“Nothing happened between us.”

Jee Fusheng gritted his teeth and continued, “Whether you two slept together or not, people won’t believe Mr. Qin is as virtuous as a saint. If word gets out, my daughter’s reputation will be ruined! Everyone will think you slept with her, and how will she ever get married then?!”

Qin Xiao smirked coldly, “That’s your problem, not mine.”

Jee Fusheng was infuriated. He came prepared for a showdown, but seeing Qin Xiao’s attitude, he realized Qin Xiao had no intention of paying up.

Catching a glimpse of the timid Ange, Jee Fusheng’s anger flared even more. He grabbed her harshly and spat, “Useless girl, since Mr. Qin doesn’t want you and won’t compensate us, what’s the point of keeping you around? You can’t even handle this, what good are you to the family?!”

Ange felt utterly humiliated. The person saying this... was her father.

“Enough, it’s clear Mr. Qin isn’t interested. We can’t fight the powerful,” Jee Fusheng said, pulling Ange along. “Let’s go see if anyone else will take you. The original fifty grand is out of the question. I heard Mr. Zhao is looking for a mistress, offering three grand a month. You can keep him company for a year...”

Ange’s heart sank with despair. Jee Fusheng clearly saw her as nothing more than a tool to pay off debts, no longer his daughter.

“Dad...” She was filled with grievances and anger, but all she could manage was a plea.

“Enough.” Qin Xiao sneered, “Stop the drama, it’s a nuisance! You owe a hundred grand, plus interest, that’s a total of a hundred thirty-seven thousand. I’ll give you a hundred fifty grand. Don’t come back to the Qin family, and leave Ange alone!”

He couldn’t allow Jee Fusheng to continue such despicable acts right under his nose.

Even if it was just for show, he could tell that Ange had taken it seriously; otherwise, her eyes wouldn't have held such deep despair. He suddenly recalled the photos his subordinates had given him, where Ange was smiling brightly and cheerfully, like an innocent young girl.

Qin Xiao quickly wrote a check and tossed it to Jee Fusheng. The check fluttered to the ground, and Fusheng's eyes lit up. He didn't care about dignity or pride; he immediately crouched down to pick up the check and tucked it into his pocket. When he stood up, it was as if he had transformed into a different person. The arrogance and insolence on his face had vanished, replaced by a wide grin. "Mr. Qin, it's getting late. I'll be heading out now. Ange, take good care of Mr. Qin!" With that, Fusheng hurriedly left, afraid that if he lingered, Qin Xiao might change his mind.

Ange stood there, her eyes downcast, her lashes wet with tears. She whispered, "Mr. Qin, thank you... I'm sorry for the trouble."

Qin Xiao said coolly, "Come here."

Ange cautiously approached him and asked, "Mr. Qin, is there something you need me to do?"

Seeing Ange like this, Qin Xiao felt an inexplicable urge to tease her. He pulled her to sit beside him, then wrapped his arm around her securely. With a smirk, he said, "Repay me with your body?"

Ange was momentarily flustered, the scent of Qin Xiao enveloping her, making her heart race. She had to lower her gaze, her hands clenched tightly together. "Mr. Qin, I..."

"Hmm?" Qin Xiao leaned closer, gently brushing his fingers across her cheek, then suddenly pinched it. "Not willing?"

"I... I do." Ange closed her eyes, gritting her teeth. "Mr. Qin, you've been a benefactor to my whole family. Just say the word, and I'll do anything for you!"

"Go cook." Qin Xiao released Ange and returned to his seat, his face calm and composed, a stark contrast to moments ago. He casually turned on the TV, switching to the news channel.

Ange snapped back to reality, hurriedly saying, "Yes, I'll get right on it." She rushed to the kitchen, her mind racing with thoughts of what had just happened.

What did Mr. Qin mean by that? Ange couldn't figure it out, her mind growing more chaotic, especially when she recalled how close Qin Xiao had been and the words he had spoken. Her heart raced uncontrollably, and she felt parched. She poured herself a glass of water, her face flushed as if she'd applied several layers of blush.

The vegetables were poorly chopped, and the cooking time was too long. By the time she set the dishes on the table, Qin Xiao's expression had darkened.

"Is this how you repay me?" Qin Xiao asked, his face stern.

The potatoes and beef were burnt, the winter melon and lamb soup tasted bland, and the melon was cut into large chunks. Even the rice was overcooked, sticky and mushy like porridge.

Ange had intended to thank Qin Xiao with a hearty meal, but her distraction from the earlier tension had resulted in a meal that seemed more like an act of revenge.

Ange gritted her teeth and said, "Mr. Qin, don't judge it by its appearance or taste. It holds my gratitude. From now on, Mr. Qin, you're my benefactor. Whatever you ask of me, I'll do it, even if it means going to extremes, just say the word!"
