C7 She Knocked out Qin's Mother!

Jee Fusheng had gambled away the $150,000 that Qin Xiao had given him to pay off his debts, and he might have even ended up owing more. Adding to the tens of thousands he already owed, Jee Ange couldn't bear to think about it.

"You won't let me in, huh?" Jee Fusheng yelled at the security guard.

On the verge of breaking down, Jee Ange couldn't help but ask, "What do you really want? I gave you money, and you just turned around and gambled it away. Then you come back asking for more? The Qin family doesn't owe you anything!"

"Just this once, the last time," Jee Fusheng suddenly softened his tone.

"Mr. Qin isn't home."

"Call him. Tell him you'll keep working for the Qin family... Ange, I've never begged anyone in my life, but I'm begging you now. Help me, please. Otherwise, our family won't make it..."

Jee Ange looked at Jee Fusheng, overwhelmed with mixed emotions. She gritted her teeth and said, "Fine, this is the last time. If it happens again, I won't help you!" With that, Jee Ange called Qin Xiao.

As soon as the call connected, Jee Ange's tone became noticeably humble, "Mr. Qin... I'm sorry to bother you again. But could you possibly lend my family another $200,000? I can sign a work contract with you. I'll work for your family for ten years to pay it back!" Jee Ange hurriedly promised.

Qin Xiao was already aware of the situation. Ever since he had bailed Jee Fusheng out last time, he had someone keep an eye on him, fearing he might get into more trouble. But he was surprised when he got the news a few days ago that Jee Fusheng had taken the $150,000 straight to a casino and lost it all, ending up owing another $20,000.

What Qin Xiao didn't expect was that the sharp and independent Jee Ange would once again plead with him for money because of her reckless father.

"No," Qin Xiao said, his anger barely contained as he coldly uttered the word.

Ange hurriedly said, "Mr. Qin, I promise this is the last time. I've already talked to my dad, and I'm only helping him this one last time. He's nearly two hundred thousand dollars in debt, my sister is still in college, and my mom's health isn't good... I..." Her voice trailed off, filled with frustration at her father’s irresponsibility.

There was a long silence on the other end of the phone.

Ange held her phone carefully, listening intently for any response.

Suddenly, Qin spoke up, "Ange, do you have any sense? Your dad's addicted to gambling. Next time, and the time after that, he'll come back, and you'll give in again. Why should you pay for his mistakes?!"

"Ange, don't you have any self-respect?"

Ange bit her lip, unable to respond. But Qin didn’t understand—she had grown up under her parents' harsh treatment, which instilled a deep-seated fear of them and a strong sense of family responsibility. After a long pause, she replied with a slight sniffle, "I'm sorry for bothering you, Mr. Qin. I won't trouble you again."

With that, she hung up the phone.

On the other end, Qin's anger was palpable. He slammed his phone to the ground in frustration. "Ange, why can't you stand up straight and shake off your leech of a father, and live with dignity?!"

Yet, Qin didn’t realize that beneath his anger lay a deeper sense of concern for her.

...

"Mr. Qin refused to lend the money," Ange said calmly after ending the call.

Fusheng's face turned red with anger, and he shouted, "Qin is a bastard! He used my daughter and won't take responsibility!"

"If he doesn't want you, then come with me. I'll get in touch with Mr. Zhao!" Fusheng said with a sinister and malicious tone.

Ange's eyes widened in shock, and she instinctively took two steps back. At that moment, Qin's mother appeared—Qin's father was out catching up with an old friend, leaving only her to manage the household.

"Ange is part of our family now, and we have no obligation to pay off your debts. Please leave, or we'll have to call the police," Mrs. Qin said firmly, standing beside Jee Ange and holding her hand.

Jee Fusheng clung to the gate, refusing to let go, and shouted, "Call the police? Haven't the Qin family done enough to ruin me? Let Jee Ange go! If it weren't for Qin Xiao, my daughter would be with a wealthy man, earning $3,000 a month! Instead, she's working as a servant for you!"

"Have you no shame?" Mrs. Qin's face turned red with anger.

"You old hag, dressed like that to seduce me?" Jee Fusheng laughed loudly. "Give me $20,000, and maybe I'll consider it..."

The crowd around them started murmuring louder.

Mrs. Qin, overwhelmed, suddenly fainted.

"Auntie! Auntie!" Jee Ange panicked, her mind in chaos. She turned to the security guard and said, "Get Jee Fusheng out of here! Never let him near again!"

With difficulty, Jee Ange helped Mrs. Qin up and used one hand to call for an ambulance.
