C5 Then Let Me Warm You up

The next day.

Jiang Yan'er slowly got up from the bed with huge dark circles under her eyes. It was around 6am in the morning and she was barely able to fall asleep.

Last night, when she arrived at the villa, it was already dark, and the outline of the villa was faintly discernible. Early in the morning, Jiang Yan'er wandered around the villa, admiring the unique flavor of this old villa.

A large piece of grassland was surrounded by an iron fence, and on the fence were wrapped rose flowers. After the period of blooming, it was already a bit depressing, and at a glance, there was not a single person. It seemed like it had been taken care of carefully, like it was barren.

"Madame," came a hoarse voice from behind her, "breakfast is ready, and the young master is waiting."

Jiang Yan'er turned her head abruptly and was quite frightened. That person didn't make any sound when he appeared, and just like a gust of wind, he suddenly appeared behind her back.

"Good." She still had some lingering fear in her heart, so she only replied softly. She originally thought that this villa was empty. She didn't expect an old housekeeper to appear here.

She followed that person downstairs. The villa wasn't big. From upstairs, she could see Jinchen sitting by herself in the dining room eating breakfast.

He always wore a clean set of white clothes, his hair a mess, his face expressionless, his every move gentle and graceful.

Seeing Jiang Yan'er heading downstairs, he lifted his head and glanced at her, before lowering his head and continuing to pick at the delicious food on his plate.

"Hurry up and eat. There is still room to go." He picked up a piece of beef and softly told Jiang Yan'er.

"Uncle Qin, you should sit down and eat." He raised his head, and his gaze was different from usual. The Uncle Qin in front of him was clearly different from usual.

"Young master, I've eaten. Please take your time." Uncle Qin smiled benevolently and dragged his lame legs, leaving the villa step by step.

Jiang Yan'er was slightly surprised, but she didn't say it out loud. She just quietly ate her meal.

Not long after, the two finished their silent breakfast. Jin Chen didn't say anything and directly walked out of the villa and got into the sports car.

In her hands, Jiang Yan'er was still chasing after him with a piece of bread that she hadn't finished.

"Hurry up." Jin Chen was a bit impatient. Seeing her get on the car, he hurriedly started the car. He walked through the grass and arrived at the iron gate.

"Uncle Qin, let's go out and return tonight." He slowly stopped the car and spoke to the old man who was cleaning the grass by his side.

Uncle Qin could only smile and nod as he watched the two of them disappear outside the iron gate.

"Who is Uncle Qin?" She still didn't control her curiosity, especially her attitude towards him. It was too cordial.

"As a daughter-in-law of the Jin family, you have to be filial to him." Jin Chen tilted his head and smiled without good intentions, as if reminding her that she was his wife was a very satisfying thing.

Jiang Yan'er rolled her eyes at him and stopped pursuing the matter.

As the car became more and more turbulent, it became more and more difficult to drive on the somewhat rugged road.

"Get out of the car, we can't get ahead." Jin Chen stopped the car, unbuckled his seatbelt, and alighted without even looking back at Jiang Yan'er.

After a while, he impatiently waited beside the car. He wondered why it took so long to get off, so he opened the door to investigate.

However, that woman had long since gone to sleep happily.

He shook his head but was not annoyed. There was even a pampering smile at the corner of his mouth.

Jiang Yan'er suddenly opened her eyes, looking straight into his curved eyes, looking at him in a daze.

"Get out of the car now!" Jin Chen felt somewhat uneasy. He was afraid that she would see his expression, so he immediately used this method to cover it up.

She rubbed her sleepy eyes, got out of the car, stretched her back, and looked around. There were tall trees everywhere, and the stone road was beneath her feet. The road in front of her became a narrow mountain path.

"Where is this?" she asked doubtfully. Of course, Jinchen wouldn't give her a reply.

He walked quietly in front, his shoes replaced by white shoes, his suit shirt replaced by a casual T-shirt and jeans, and his fresh hair made him look as clean and beautiful as a spring breeze.

Jiang Yan'er followed closely behind, rarely taking this kind of rugged mountain path. She walked carefully with each step, becoming a little timid. As if she was used to following Jin Chen, she walked in big strides, skilfully avoiding the thorns and grass.

Not long after, he stopped.

In front of Jiang Yan'er was a graveyard.

She looked at Jin Chen's ice-cold face and realized that the atmosphere was different. She just quietly stood behind him.

"Come forward and say hello." He turned around and looked at her. "This is your father-in-law." The corner of his mouth curled up into a smile, but that smile disappeared in an instant.

Jiang Yan'er guessed correctly, today was indeed an unusual day.

No one in the Jin family mentioned the matter of the brocade father. Jiang Yan'er had overheard some servants discussing that he was in the United States and had married another woman, and some said that he was in the city, but was annoyed that Chen Jing was too domineering, so she moved out.

However, no one had ever said that Father Jin might have already left this world.

"I've always wondered why you never asked me about my father," Jinchen said as she approached the cemetery and began to clear the weeds around it. "But it's a good thing you didn't ask, or there'd be a bloody battle between us." He seemed to have thought of something, and suddenly let out a cold laugh.

"I just think it's better not to ask too much." Jiang Yan'er didn't know how to reply, afraid that she would poke a sore spot on Jin Chen.

"Of course, it's just a contract between us. You don't need to know much about me." Jin Chen had his back facing her, and the depths of his eyes were filled with unspeakable disappointment.

"You never, never gave me the chance to understand." Jiang Yan'er remembered many things from the past. Most of them were scenes where she tried to get close but always closed the door. Therefore, she smiled bitterly.

She was right, he never gave her the chance. In his world, no one else was allowed to enter. As for Jiang Yan'er, he yearned to get to know her, but he was even more afraid.

"There will always be a day when the contract breaks down, and in your world, there will always be people who will go and warm up," Jinchen said sarcastically, and Jiang Yan'er could only smile wryly.

"How I want to warm you, it's me." He spoke in a low voice, almost to himself. The wind was blowing in the mountains, but these words couldn't reach Jiang Yan'er's ears.

"You really don't have to say these things over and over again. I know it very well," she said, squinting in the wind so that the tears could barely fall. "If the contract breaks, we'll be strangers."

"It's good to know my own limitations, but I'm not having a good time." Jin Chen stood up and threw away the grass in his hands. His clean hands were tainted with some dirt.

"So, I can't make you feel better either."

The cemetery was surrounded by tall grass, and he couldn't see the end of it.

As the wind got stronger, Jiang Yan'er couldn't help but shiver as she crossed her arms.

"You're not well, because you've locked yourself up." Jiang Yan'er didn't want to look into JinChen's eyes, so she stared at a blade of grass. "The people around you aren't well either."
