C4 Reason To Believe It’s A Conspiracy

It was another night in A City. The street lamps lit the streets with their dazzling light. The stars in the night sky twinkled overhead brightly. All around them, the air of pedestrians was filled with the hustle and bustle of a busy city.

Mu Qingzhu was walking alone on the busy streets, lost in her thoughts.

The super-wide LCD screen on the commercial square was grabbing everyone’s attention. It was broadcasting an interview with the beautiful and sexy Qian Anrou. Her magnifying presence on the screen was drawing quite a crowd.

For the three years while she was in America, she would find out through some exclusive entertainment magazine feature that Ruan Hanyu had a new woman by his side. That woman being Qian Anrou. It seemed like Mu Qingzhu had been quickly replaced and it was now Qian Anrou who had stepped in.

The three were familiar with each other. She, Qian Anrou, and Ruan Hanyu were former classmates from C University.

During their university days, Qian Anrou proved to be a popular beauty. She was not only sexy, beautiful, and charming, but she was also the dream lover of all men. This being the case, Mu Qingzhu had never liked her. She always thought Qian Anrou was hypocritical and scheming and therefore went out of her way to avoid her.

But Qian Anrou did not take Mu Qingzhu’s standoffish persona to heart. In fact, she was very warm to her. Gradually, Mu Qingzhu’s cold front melted and they also became good friends who told each other everything.

Stabbing pains from the betrayal pierced Mu Qingzhu’s heart. Try as she might, she could not understand why Qian Anrou would go behind her back and come to Ruan Hanyu’s side.

“Miss Qian Anrou, is it true that you are the capable assistant behind Ruan Hanyu of the Ruan Group? It is known that you have been standing behind him silently for three years. Please tell us more about your role."

Qian Anrou’s face held an elegant smile. Her red lips parted to say, “That is private information. Thank you!”

“I’m sorry. Let’s not discuss such matters like feelings today. Please stay alert for any updates at the news conference of the Ruan family.” After having said that with a flirtatious tone, she smiled pleasantly at the camera.

“Miss Qian Anrou, rumor has been swirling that you are preparing to enter the entertainment industry. Is there truth to these rumors?”

Qian Anrou smiled graciously. “I can only say that that is up to fate. If the time is right, anything is possible!”

Mu Qingzhu breathed out heavily. She had seen enough. Giving the screen one last look, she turned and walked away.

“Miss Mu, you need to come prepared. Many suspicious things have arisen from the car accident. And foul play has been suspected. I’m afraid this makes things complicated. This might extend the case to a lengthier period of time,” Lawyer Wang stated this with a heavy expression on his face.

In her lap, Mu Qingzhu’s hands were tightly clenched together although on the outside she tried to maintain a calm composure. Her eyes held a composed and collected expression.

Her father, Mu Jinci, was a long-time famous figure in the government. He was the Director of the Finance Department of A City. However, suspiciously, the night before he was running for office, he was run over by a strange luxury vehicle on his way home after dinner.

The news media had kept things very hush-hush, only mentioning the news item very briefly. It was left out that the person in the car accident was none other than the Director of the Finance Department, Mu Jinci, who was running for office.

It was like his tragedy had never happened! So few people recognized his tragic demise.

It was obvious his death had been deliberately concealed by the media. It appeared someone had paid big money to hide this piece of news.

A conspiracy was on hand!

Mu Qingzhu cautiously looked around. Feeling more anxious, her nails dug into her palms, but she did not feel any pain at all! She was most likely feeling numb from the news.

“Miss Mu, what’s done is done. I am sorry for your loss,” Lawyer Wang said, his words conveying a bit of the despondency he must've felt. “Without concrete evidence, the case will go nowhere, the police are not allowed to interfere, and you will only be grasping at straws if you pursue things further.”

Mu Qingzhu stared outside the windows, lost in thought. The beautiful blue skies and white clouds did not match the turmoil she felt. Mu Qingzhu was in hell. Her heart seemed to succumb to an endless bitterness.

Her father had been a good official. Though her family did not have much in the way of savings, this her father made up with the wealth of spirit. He raised his daughter to be reserved and have a proper manner of speech and actions, with a cheerful and lively posterior. Her calm and collected method of handling matters was due to her father’s healthy influence!

“Miss Mu, I would like to inform you that the police’s surveillance camera can only see a luxury car without a license plate!” Lawyer Wang opened the folder and handed the evidence. Mu Qingzhu took the photo into her hands and examined it carefully.

Mu Qingzhu was shaking so hard that she could not properly inspect the contents of the photo. With a quivering breath, she tried calming herself down.

Through the haze of her anxiety, her bright eyes were veiled over by a layer of fog.

Finally able to calm herself down, she looked intensely down at the photo. Her father’s car in the photo was crushed into what resembled a scrap of metal. Blood and gore were seen skewed all over the site of the accident!

Silent tears rolled down her cheeks. Mu Qingzhu impatiently brushed them away. She did not want to miss a single detail! As her eyes worked over the photo, she combed for any clues or tips that would help the case.

This seemed to work because suddenly a cold feeling rose from the bottom of her heart. She had caught something as her eyes fixed on the luxurious vehicle. It looked very familiar!

Her face quickly paled.

She recognized the make and model of the luxury car, remembering it had appeared on her wedding day! Even though it was missing a license plate and its color had changed, the car snagged on her memories and she recognized it.

It was a special edition car manufactured by a car company overseas in Ruan Group. In the world, there only existed five limited editions of the luxury car. She knew of three of them: two were in A City and the other was in Ruan Group.

Could Ruan Hanyu have something to do with this?!

Mu Qingzhu was shocked by her discovery and she stood up abruptly.

Because of Ruan Hanyu’s hatred for her and with his status, who knew what things he would do just to sabotage her life? The lengths that went into covering up this conspiracy could only mean that a powerful person was behind this!

It was obvious Ruan Hanyu was behind this! He had the power and means to do so!

Seeing that Ruan Hanyu’s hatred for her had no bounds, she came straight to the conclusion that he had orchestrated her father’s death and then had it covered up. The discovery sent a cold chill all throughout her body. She curled up into a ball in her seat and her face carried a grey pallor that was like death.

“Miss Mu, are you alright? What’s wrong?” Lawyer Wang came to her side worriedly. Her pale face and trembling body heightened his concern for her well-being.

It took a while, but gradually Mu Qingzhu was able to collect herself. She shook her head to signify to Lawyer Wang that she was alright. Her demeanor had improved somewhat. The light in her eyes no longer exhibited darkness. A burning light filled with purpose jumped in her pupils. Her long eyelashes framing her big eyes shielded others from her thoughts.

Ruan Hanyu, if you’re really behind this, I’ll never forgive you. I will make you pay with blood, she swore. Having thought this, the vow centered her resolve and a cold smile appeared on Mu Qingzhu’s lips.

In the grand and magnificent meeting room of the 88th floor of International Triumph Court.

At the head of the table, Ruan Hanyu, who donned an expensive suit, was sitting with his back ramrod straight. His sharp eyes seemed to not miss anything as they stared at the image on the projector.

On the screen, a luxurious SUV with a noble build and smooth lines was on full display.

All the senior executives of Ruan family were sitting quietly and respectfully in their seats. They politely looked ahead without saying a word.

The Ruan Hanyu who was working no longer exhibited the impetuousness of before. His brows were knitted and his lips showed that he was deep in concentration. His entire being exuded the charm of a true gentleman.

However, it was well-known throughout the company that he was a strict boss. Everyone was cautious and careful around him. The slightest mistake would jeopardize their jobs, they would be fired, and their salaries would drop. In his eyes, if an employee didn’t take his job seriously, he would be shown the door. Subordinates who knew how to fawn on others knew how to rig the system. With a platform that entirely depended on results, this became a regular occurrence.

Under Ruan Hanyu’s militant leadership, the Ruan Group flourished. The company became stronger and stronger, to the point that no one else could compare to it.

“Director Ruan, according to the reports, this modern SUV model was designed by Jingrui Company, headquarters in the United States. Once the brand was released, it became popular in Europe and America. Orders have already exceeded 100 million. “The reports are correct, Director Ruan. This model has become famous all over the world. Its sales are steadily reaching the top. And we have found that it is overshadowing all of our newer models,” Zhuh Jianzhang, the assistant, said. Everyone around could sense that he was nervous and worried.

Ruan Hanyu furrowed his brows. No emotion could be detected on his face. He stared at the car on the projector, his gaze unfazed. His mind raced with thoughts.

The report reinforced his conjecture. When he had first laid eyes on the model of the car, his eyes had lit up. The design of the car proved to be marvelous. The reports only solidified what he in his heart knew.

All this time, he had never been able to find a model of car that he was truly satisfied with. But after laying eyes on this design, he had finally found a car model that pleased him.

“Tell me more about the person who designed the car.” After thinking for a moment, Ruan Hanyu said this. His expression was calm as he waited for the answer.

“Director Ruan, you will be surprised to hear that the designer is a woman. I heard that she is very young and beautiful.” Zhuh Jianzhang’s words could not hide the surprise and admiration that he felt for this person. His young and handsome face showed his esteem for the designer.
