C11 You Forced Me to Give It to You!

Foster smiled and asked, "Is there a need to do this?"

Lachlan frowned and thought, "Could it be that I've misunderstood her?"

"Right now, I don't care how you do it. I won't bother you for now. I've changed my mind. I won't chase her away. As long as you can ensure the smooth progress of the project."

Lachlan raised her eyebrows. "Do you think you can chase her away?"

Foster chuckled. He obviously didn't want to argue anymore. "How's the progress of the new project going? Where's Priscilla? Ask her to come over and tell me."

"Before she comes, you have to tell me if you have already informed the Civil Affairs Bureau about this."

"You already know. Why are you still asking me?"

"I really regret telling you my decision."

"Even if you do it privately, I can still stop you. You know that my ability is always extraordinary." Foster boasted shamelessly.

Lachlan stared at her cunning father. For a moment, she didn't know what he was trying to do. She could only pick up the intercom phone and go straight to the point. "Come to my office."

A few moments later, a light knock sounded in the office.

"Come in." Foster opened his mouth and stood up.

Priscilla walked in with a broken leg. Just as she was about to ask what was going on, she saw Foster and called out respectfully, "Director Rowley, you're here."

Foster frowned and smiled. "Didn't you say that you have to call me father when there are no outsiders? Why are you calling me so foreign?"

She bit her lip and forced herself to say, "Dad."

Foster nodded and looked at her feet. He then remembered that Lachlan had just called her and asked with a smile, "What happened to your feet? Is it serious?"

"No, it's nothing. I just accidentally sprained it." She wore high heels today because she had to meet a client. Normally, she wore flat shoes for work.

"That's good. I'll get Lachlan to apply some medicine for you later."

Priscilla waved her hands frantically. "No, there's no need."

Seeing her reject him so quickly, Lachlan frowned. His cold and sharp eyes swept across her indifferent face. Did she really think of him as a devil?

"You're already injured to this extent, yet you don't need it? You caught a cold a few days ago. Why are you still so big? Can't even take care of your own wife?" His reproach overflowed.

"She was given to me by you. I never thought of taking care of her. Didn't you think about it? I also caught a cold, but I didn't see her take care of me." Since she was so resistant to his good intentions, he would just let it go.

Priscilla raised her head. Although she knew that he wouldn't say anything good, her heart couldn't help but tighten.

"You! You're already so old, yet you still want to gamble on this?" Foster looked at her with a disappointed expression.

Priscilla didn't want to get entangled in this matter, so she asked Foster in a soft voice, "What did you call me here for?"

She knew that Lachlan would never look for her. No matter what, Lachlan was the only one who knew that they were husband and wife. He was Foster's best spy.

"It's nothing important. I just want to tell you that you shouldn't work too hard. It's not good for your body if you work too hard. You have to work and rest well to have new inspiration. You have to take care of your body. Oh, right, how's the research going?"

Priscilla knew that the last part was the most important.

She had never felt that Foster was being so good to her for free. However, from another perspective, it was still good that she still had value to be used. If it wasn't for the father and son pair, there wouldn't be today in the orphanage.

Priscilla was full of confidence. "It's going well. We passed the stress and shock test yesterday. The passing rate is 99%. If we improve the ratio of the reagents, the passing rate will be higher. Besides, I have already gotten the sales department to take over the orders from Europe. We can start to sell directly after the factory starts production next month."

Foster smiled happily. "Not bad, Priscilla. You've worked hard. It's your birthday in a few days. I'll hold a birthday banquet for you. As a reward for this experiment, what do you think?"

Birthday banquet... Priscilla was stunned.

"What kind of birthday banquet is it?"

"It's a cocktail party. All the directors of the company, business partners, and politicians who are close to me will be invited."

Priscilla was shocked. Didn't that mean that he was going to help her and Lachlan announce their marriage?

"I don't agree!" Lachlan interrupted their conversation coldly.

Priscilla felt embarrassed when she realized that Lachlan would not agree to their marriage.

"What do you disagree with? Why do you disagree? Lachlan, it's time to announce to everyone that you're married, so that no one will plot against you." Foster's words had a hidden meaning.

Of course, Priscilla knew what he was referring to. The matter of Foster going to the Civil Affairs Bureau had accelerated Foster's intention to publicize their marriage status.

"How did you agree to my marriage? Now, you want to go back on your word?" Lachlan's eyes swept across the man in front of him. Although he called him father, he did not have much affection for him. He suddenly felt that Lachlan was despicable.

He knew that Foster wanted to publicly announce their marriage because he had no other choice. However, he did not want to be buried as a martyr for that reason. It was his own business what he wanted to do.

"Why should I ask for your opinion? You are not just the eldest son of the Rowley family. You are also the CEO of the Silverwood Group! You have to think carefully!"

Priscilla could not understand what was going on.

Lachlan's lips curled into a mocking smile. "What? Is the CEO of Silverwood Group so uncontrollable? Is the CEO of Silverwood Group so amazing? Do you have to play the game with you?"

"How dare you!" Foster was so angry that he trembled. He threw the folder in his hand away and pointed his index finger at Lachlan.

Priscilla had no choice but to step forward to comfort him. "Director Rowley, don't be angry. It's not good to be angry. If you have something to say, then say it. About the birthday banquet... Let's forget about it. I don't like to show my face. You know, I get nervous when I see a lot of people. Let's just have a good meal at home. Is that okay?"

"No! It's decided!" Foster did not care about anyone's account. He waved his hand and walked out.

Priscilla bent down to pick up the documents on the ground. She did not even look at him. Just as she was about to leave, she was stopped by him. "Stop right there!"

"What's wrong? Is there anything you need, Director Rowley?" Her tone was indifferent, as if she was a completely different person.

He narrowed his eyes and stared at the woman in front of him, who had changed her face faster than flipping a book. Last night, she was still fine. She had brought him honey and tea, but today, she had put on a face.

He hated her attitude towards him! He had observed her. She was gentle and polite to everyone except him. She was indifferent to him, just like an enemy.

Damn it! She had been willing to marry him! For money! For money! What right did she have to look down on him like this?
