C3 Messing up the Family Banquet!

At 4: 30 p.m., the familiar silver sports car stopped at the entrance of the house and honked impatiently.

Priscilla hurriedly ran over and sat behind the car.

"What do you mean? Do you want to harm me?" In the rearview mirror, Lachlan's eyes were as cold as ice.

For a moment, she forgot that they were going to attend the Rowley family's family banquet. She had to get out of the passenger seat and show everyone, at least, to Foster.

Just as she was about to get out of the car, he suddenly waved his hand and said, "Forget it. There is no need to do it anymore."

Before she could even sit down, the car had already driven away.

Priscilla was puzzled. There was no need to do it anymore?

In the Rowley family's mansion.

Mrs. Layla was already waiting at the door.

Seeing the two of them get out of the car one after another, she was suspicious for a moment before she went up to them and said, "First Young Master, First Young Madame, you are finally here. The old master and the madam have been praying for you."

Lachlan greeted Mrs. Layla politely and went in first.

Foster and his wife, Lachlan's younger brother, Lance, had gone abroad last month. His sister, Qin Coraline, had also been married half a year ago and had gone abroad with her husband. Now that the family was cold and lonely, they requested that the couple attend the family banquet every week.

"Priscilla, you guys are here." Foster stood up and greeted Priscilla. Priscilla had already gotten used to it and was no longer as embarrassed as she was when she first arrived.

Mrs. Rowley only smiled at Priscilla, as if there was no Lachlan in her eyes.

Lachlan seemed to have not seen Mrs. Rowley. He took the initiative to sit down, not calling out to anyone.

"Have you greeted her? How rude of you to sit down like that." Foster reprimanded him softly.

"There's no need for that." He replied coldly as he picked up his chopsticks and started to eat.

"No matter what, your aunt is still your elder. It's fine if you don't call her, but how can you not call her?"

"Forget it, forget it. It's nothing. As long as he is happy, it's fine." Mrs. Rowley pulled Foster and sat down together. There was a trace of malice in her eyes as she glanced at Lachlan.

Priscilla was already used to their indifference. If she was not their biological daughter, it would be awkward to call them by their names. If it were her, she didn't know if she could even call them by their names. Now, she felt it was difficult to call them by their names. Although she had called them several times, as a child who had never had parents, this was still a word that was difficult to say. She had practiced it in front of the mirror for a long time before she dared to call them by their names naturally.

Everyone quietly moved their chopsticks. In between, Mrs. Rowley and Priscilla would exchange a few words. Foster nodded from time to time, while Lachlan was almost invisible.

When it was almost time, Lachlan put down his chopsticks and said to Foster, "Dad, I have something to announce."

Everyone looked at his serious face and stopped.

"What is it? Can't we talk about it after we finish eating?"

"It's better to talk about it now."

"Go ahead."

"I want to divorce Priscilla," he said with an expressionless face. He didn't even look at Priscilla.

Priscilla's heart sank. She didn't expect him to announce something so important.

But why did she feel uncomfortable? Her marriage had never been something she could decide.

Suddenly, Foster stood up and slammed his chopsticks on the table. He growled, "No!"

Lachlan also stood up. "Why not? I decide my own marriage!"

"If I say no, then no! Marriage is not a child's play!"

Lachlan's sinister face cracked into a cold smile. "Well said. Marriage is not a child's play. Then what right do you have to treat my marriage as child's play?"

"Don't you forget that you chose Priscilla! I didn't force you to marry her! Now you want to divorce her? Have you ever thought about her feelings?"

"Why should I think about her feelings? Our marriage was built on the foundation of benefits. You forced me to marry someone else, so I need to use her as a shield for the other woman you forced me to marry. She just happens to need my money. She just wants money! That's all. Now it's time. That woman has already been married last month. I don't need to continue our marriage."

Her heart was bleeding. Priscilla clenched her fists tightly and warned herself not to cry at this moment, no matter how much he insulted her.

Foster's forefinger trembled. "You... you're crazy! How could you say something like that?! How could you hurt Priscilla's feelings?!"

"Hmph, why are you so nervous? What can she have in her heart? Her eyes are filled with money."

"Lachlan! How could you say that about me?" Priscilla stood up as well, her eyes still filled with tears.

"What? Did I say something wrong? I'm just here to inform you that you, tomorrow, bring your ID to the Civil Affairs Bureau." With that, he left without looking back.
