Every person who wanted to become a doctor had to go through the process of going from an intern to a resident to a specialist, a process that consisted of countless days and nights of internship.

The interns were considered the lowest level of staff in the hospital. In their first year, they would be transferred to various departments, and each department would stay for a period of time
