C4 4

It had always been difficult for Sara to wake up early in the morning, but because she was in the same room with a homicidal maniac, she was afraid that her neck would be severed. She was so worried that she couldn't sleep well. She slept for hours intermittently and woke up at six o'clock in the morning.

She did not dare to make a sound, afraid of disturbing Hank. She carefully got up and saw that the man was still in bed.

The previous day, she didn't dare to look carefully. Now that the morning sun shone through the window, and the scattered light fell on his face, his well-sculpted face looked flawless. It was so handsome that one couldn't help but be enchanted.

Sara had never thought that a man would look like that. There was not a trace of femininity on him. On the contrary, he looked fierce and dangerous, but thrillingly good- looking.

Sara slowly moved her eyes away and quietly walked to the bathroom. She didn't have any toiletries but she was too timid to ask Hank. So she tried checking out the cabinet under the sink and found a toothbrush, but there was still no toothpaste.

She looked at the only cup on the table and carefully took out the toothpaste. She squeezed a little out and rinsed it off with water before she squeezed some on her toothbrush.

After stealing Hank's toothpaste, she blushed.

When she was done washing up, Hank still hadn't woken up. Sara didn't know what she needed to do as a young bride. But thinking of young brides in ancient times, they were similar to a servant. And so she thought she should serve Hank as one, but...

She didn't dare.

Sara was a little troubled.

Just then, the door of the bedroom opened and a tall man came in with a tray in his hand. There was a bowl of inky-black liquid medicine in the tray. Sara could smell the scent of bitterness.

Bella paused for a moment when he saw Sara. Then, he remembered that it must be the young bride that the Madam had bought for Hank to counteract his bad luck.

Bella thought he wouldn't get a chance to meet this girl. No one in the family had expected to see a woman in Master Bishop's room.

For a moment, he did not know how to address Sara, so he just nodded his head at her.

Sara asked humbly in a low voice, "Are you here to deliver the medicine to Master Bishop?"

Bella nodded and said, "Hello, Miss Martin. I'm the Master's subordinate. You can call me Bella."

Sara nodded in return and obediently stood at a corner. She didn't speak but her petite figure was very likable.

Bella put the medicine aside and whispered, "Sir, it's time to take medicine."

Sara did not dare to look at Hank. Instead, she began to focus on the bowl of medicine.

Her half-sister, William, and her stepmother, Lilly Miller, had always complained that Sara's mother was a shameless home- wrecker who seduced married men. However, Sara's mother was actually the precious daughter of a scholarly family. Her grandfather was a famous doctor, specializing in alternative herbal medicine, and Sara was also gifted with the same talent. She used to live with her grandfather for a few years when she was a child and had learned quite some medical knowledge there. Lilly was hence afraid that Sara would end up as a famous doctor like her grandfather, and take over the inheritance of Martin Pharma. Therefore, Lilly sent Sara back to the Martin family when she was ten years old.

Even so, Sara's achievements in the medical field were still profound. Without looking at the residue of the herbs, she was able to tell what was inside solely by its scent.

"Well, it's a medicine for treating damage in internal organs, Sara thought.

"Hey, girl. Come here."

Sara looked up absentmindedly and saw Hank's dark eyes.

"Come and feed me my medicine," Hank sat by the bed and said calmly.

Only then did Sara realize the "girl" he called was actually her. She quickly went over and picked up the bowl of medicine that Bella had just placed on the table.

She hesitated for a moment and said softly, "Master Bishop, the medicine is infused with a very bitter herb. If you drink it sip by sip, you would still taste the bitterness when you have your meal later. Perhaps..."

"I said, feed me the medicine," Hank repeated his words coldly.

Sara was so frightened that her hands nearly trembled.

Bella was speechless and thought, "What's wrong with Master Bishop today? It's such a torture to drink the medicine sip by sip! And why is he treating the girl so terribly?"

Looking at Sara biting her lip with a slightly aggrieved face, Bella sighed internally.

Sara's long, curly eyelashes were covering her eyes as she scooped a spoonful of the black medicine with a blue porcelain spoon. A strong bitterness wafted over her face. She wrinkled her delicate nose slightly and felt that the medicine was a little too hot. She blew at the spoon subconsciously before feeding it to Hank.

Hank took a glance at her and drank it.

Sara often fed medicine to his grandfather, so she was quite skilled at it.

However, she didn't dare to look at Hank in the eyes.

Bella stood next to them and started to imagine the bitterness in Master Bishop's mouth as he watched him swallowed the medicine.

Soon, the medicine was reaching the final dregs. Sara put down the bowl. When she didn't know what to do, someone outside suddenly shouted, "Master Bishop, Miss Martin's family is here!"

Sara was stupefied for a moment.

Family? Was it Yen Martin? Hank gave the girl a look and asked, "Do you want to go?"

She didn't really want to see the Martin family, but she thought maybe her father had regretted...

She always kept a little hope in her heart, so she nodded.

Hank said calmly, "Get someone to prepare breakfast. We'll go after breakfast." Bella was surprised but he hid his shock and just obeyed the order.

After Sara had her breakfast alone, she was led to the front hall. Bella looked at Hank doubtfully and asked, "Master, why did you do that?"

Hank knew what he really meant, and he answered casually, "She's quite cute. I'm keeping her around for some fun."

Bella couldn't understand why his master would treat a nice girl like a pet, he didn't know what to say.

Besides, he also didn't dare to comment, he only stated, "Miss Martin is an illegitimate daughter. It's probably not good news for the Martin family to be here at this time."

Hank paused and ordered. "Go and take a look."

In the front hall, Sara's father, Yen, her half-sister, William, and stepmother Lilly were all there.

The Martin family was also a well-known family with more than 100 years of history. They owned a famous pharmaceutical company in Jena City. Yen was an indolent and unambitious man, he inherited the company from his ancestors but he did not work hard. Therefore, Martin Pharma had never been able to develop.

Lilly was the daughter of a wealthy businessman. She was in her forties but aged slowly. She had put on exquisite makeup and was wearing an expensive maxi dress. She looked very dignified and had a good reputation among the rich. After all, she had accepted her husband's mistress's daughter and kept her in the family. Not everyone could be that forgiving. In front of strangers, Lilly had been a good stepmother.

William, on the other hand, was God's favored daughter. She was good at playing the piano and dancing. She was also the campus belle in school. She looked a lot like Lilly, with a V-shaped and sculpted face. Not to mention, she was only 19 years old, a year older than Sara. But perhaps due to being at the Bishop family's territory, her eyes had carried an inkling of caution.

Not only William but even Lilly and Yen themselves were also tiptoeing around the place, They did not dare take a sharper intake of breath.

None of the masters of the Bishop family came out to welcome them, but only a few servants. The Matin family was not that honorable, it seemed.

As soon as Samantha stepped into the lobby, Yen stood up immediately and scolded her angrily, "Why did you come so late?"

The hope in Sara's heart shattered in an instant.
