C10 Chapter 10

The manager of the restaurant is a very mercenary middle-aged man who knows the identities of the store's regulars by heart.

Just because Liam is rarely seen in public doesn't mean his identity is really hidden seamlessly.

The manager was attentive and personally took Liam's order and recommended several of the restaurant's new signature dishes.

From start to finish, Liam's handsome face was devoid of any expression, and he didn't order any of the several signature dishes recommended by the manager.

The manager looked there without looking back for a long time until Liam showed obvious disgust, then he smiled sarcastically and made himself an excuse to leave.

From the moment Liam stepped into the restaurant, a few of the store's waitresses got together and whispered, "It's the weekend. I knew Liam would show up, but it just seems to be a little later than usual today; I wonder if he's been delayed due to personal matters."

Another waiter said, "Whenever he comes to the restaurant, the four dishes he must order are salmon in white wine cream, Nice salad, curry steak, and French fish tacos.

Speaking of which, the waiter gave an ambiguous smile.

"Nowadays, there are no more men as dedicated and affectionate as this, I don't know if he has a girlfriend by his side, if not, the woman who is lucky enough to be his girlfriend in the future will surely die of happiness."

Several other waiters chimed in.

Every time you come to a restaurant, you order those four dishes. What is that, if not dedication and obsession?

Evelyn stood in the middle of a group of waitresses, listening to a couple of young ladies make small talk; she listened with interest but rarely participated.

A woman with a thirty-year-old soul on top, bursting from her bones with composure and maturity.

Even though her actual age was only 23, she couldn't really fit into the youthful world of these ladies.

A woman's sixth sense was always strong, and just as a few other waitresses came together to exchange pleasantries, a burning line of sight was thrown at her from a short distance away.

Instinctively, she looked up and met those impeccable eyes.

And staring at her was no other than Liam, the leading man who was being gossiped about by his own coworkers.

He sat gracefully in the VIP seat that belonged to him alone, with a pleasantly disdainful demeanor.

His gaze was cast nakedly in her direction with a searching, curious look and a hint of playfulness that eluded her.

The moment their eyes met, Evelyn didn't avoid his exploration the first time.

She accepted his scrutiny with unparalleled openness, without the slightest trace of timidity or shyness.

In fact, she could find no reason to be timid or shy.

First of all, she hadn't done anything wrong to Liam, even though the other woman had been her boss for two months, but she had always been serious and careful with her work, and except for that matter of booking the flights, she had a clear conscience about everything she had done.

Moreover, in terms of mental age, Evelyn is now a person in her early thirties, whereas the man with the attractive appearance and jaw-dropping millionaire's fortune is only twenty-six years old.

She really wasn't half shy about facing a man four years younger than herself.

Liam didn't seem to expect her to be sized up so candidly by himself, and at first, he thought he was blinking, but upon sitting down and taking a closer look, the young woman over there in her overalls was indeed the same woman who had appeared on his computer screen not too long ago.

What was her name again?

Oh, yes, Evelyn!

Scarlett's right-hand man, his savior, and the unlucky employee he ordered out of the company.

Liam didn't realize that after leaving the Davis group, Evelyn would come here to work as a waitress.

At this point, several guests walked by one after another.

When Liam goes looking for the familiar figure again, he finds that she has left the spot and is nowhere to be found.

At 11 pm, Evelyn walks out of the Seine restaurant's employee walkway right on time.

As soon as he was out the door, he was stopped in his tracks by a good-looking young man.

"Is this Evelyn, please?"

She gave the other woman a wary look, "And you are?"

The other party smiled lightly, "It doesn't matter who I am; what matters is that my boss wants to see you."

"Who's your boss?"

"You'll know it when you see it."

With that, he pointed to a stretch black sedan parked not far away. Although her attitude was respectful, she clearly didn't have the right to refuse half the time.

Evelyn knew that in this situation, she absolutely had no ability to escape, and instead of going against him, she should obediently follow her opponent's orders.

Walking up to the black sedan, the man carefully opened the door and made a "please" gesture to her.

As she was forced into the car, she realized that this stretch limousine was rightly the preferred choice of some of the rich and powerful upper class.

The interior is spacious and softly lit.

There was only one person sitting in the car, his legs folded and a tablet in his hand, seemingly checking some kind of information.

Seeing her sit in, he smoothly set his computer aside and pulled a light smile at her, taking the lead by asking, "Do you know who I am?"

Evelyn froze for a moment, then nodded, "Liam."

She didn't understand why Liam had summoned her the way he had.

"I called you over to ask you just one thing."

"Ask!"

Her open and fearless attitude is a slight surprise to Liam, who has been on top.

No wonder Scarlett had taken the trouble to praise her to the skies in front of him; just this calmness and composure of hers was enough to impress him.

A momentary flash of admiration for her flickered in his eyes; he liked dealing with intelligent people.

"Farhang Airlines and SkySong Airlines are a hundred thousand miles apart in pronunciation, so I'm curious to know why you missed Farhang Airlines the other day when Scarlett asked you to book me a ticket to London on the pretext that you didn't hear the pronunciation."

His one-liner caught Evelyn off guard.

At first, she thought that if she could just avoid the disaster of her last life, this would never happen again.

Little did she realize that Liam, who had absolutely no semblance of a relationship with her in her past life, would find her and ask such a tricky and difficult question.

Although he had known for a long time that this man was a shrewd character who was not to be messed with, he was able to quickly and accurately get to the root of the matter in such a short period of time, so it was no wonder that the DAVIS Group was able to stand in his hands.

But how should she answer his question?

Should she tell him that she was the one who had died once before and that now her soul had gone back seven years so that she could foresee his death in his last life?

Don't say he doesn't believe it, but if someone dared to say such a thing to her, she would treat them as a psychopath and advise them to see a doctor.

"Evelyn, I have a hard question," Liam said aggressively.
