C2 What Can You Use to Please Me?

Connie was stunned and said uncertainly, "Maybe half an hour?"

"Maybe? Miss, do you know what the word 'drunken' means?"

The man suddenly smiled coldly. "A man usually acts rashly after getting drunk. He won't spend 30 minutes playing with the front lines. Besides, no one would put their clothes neatly when doing something like this."

He pointed at Connie and the clothes on the bedside table. He concluded, "So, based on these two points, I can conclude that you are lying!"

His analysis made Connie speechless.

She never thought that a drunk person who had been drunk last night would wake up so calmly.

His question seemed casual, but it was a trap that hid a trap, making all her lies fall apart.

Holden was too scary!

Connie did not know how to face Holden anymore. Her hands were tightly clenching the blanket, and her anxious face was full of flaws.

Holden squinted at her appearance. She didn't look stunning, but her facial features were delicate and exquisite. Her expression was full of inexperience. Her body had yet to fully develop, but her proportions were very well-proportioned. Her temperament was especially fresh and pure.

This little girl looked pleasing to the eye, but her actions made Holden feel a little unhappy.

"Let me ask you again, what is your purpose in approaching me?" He asked in a threatening tone.

Connie bit her lip and only raised her head after a long time. Her eyes were filled with a faint pleading as she said, "Can you not touch the old city area? There is an orphanage there. Once the demolition is completed, all the orphans will be forced to separate. That is our home. Can I beg you not to deprive us of our final home?"

"Old city area?"

Holden seemed to have thought for a few seconds before he said with an indifferent expression, "You mean the old city? The development rights have already been decided, and the company has already given them the most generous subsidies. The government will also plan their whereabouts, so why would they be homeless?"

"You don't understand. For the orphans who grew up there, that is our final home."

Connie emphasized the importance of the orphanage very seriously. Then she continued, "Mr. Henson, although I don't understand business, there is no traffic in the old city area. There shouldn't be much value in developing that area. So, can you keep the rights to develop that area? Or, can you keep the orphanage area?"

"Impossible!"

Holden rejected without hesitation, his eyes carrying a hint of ridicule, "I am a businessman, and business is business. My company has already started planning that area since last year. That place will become the largest commercial center in the Northern City, so all the old houses that have been neglected for a long time must be demolished. Of course, including the orphanage!"

With a tone that held no room for negotiation, the words came out of holden's mouth. Connie felt her heart drop to the bottom of the valley.

Was there really no hope?

No, she had already reached this point. How could she give up like this?

Thinking of this, Connie could not help but clench her teeth. She boldly looked at Holden and said, "Mr. Henson, please think about it carefully. Can you bear to see those children separate? If it really doesn't work, I... I'll do it. I'll do it. No matter if it's ten years, twenty years, or even a lifetime, as long as you keep the right to develop the orphanage, I'll do anything for you!"

"Do it for you?"

As if he had heard something interesting, Holden raised his eyes and approached her. He asked, "What do you know? What do you plan to use to please me?"
