Mu Shengchen held a limited-edition pen in his hand with his slender fingers, swiftly signed on the document, and then handed it to Ye Xi.

"Young Master Chen, this is the document for tomorrow's meeting." Ye Xi handed him over the another document.

Mu Shengchen rubbed his forehead and took the document from him. He then casually asked, "How is the arrangement going in the hospital?"

When he understood what Mu Shengchen was talking about, he immediately replied, "The specialists have arrived at the Third General Hospital the two days ago. Madam Ning's condition has stabilized for the past two days, and the surgery is scheduled for tomorrow."

Mu Shengchen paused for a moment as he looked through the document. After a long while, he finally said, "Ye Xi, cancel all the meetings tomorrow."

"Young Master Chen, there are a few important video conferences tomorrow, and..."

"Young Master Chen!" Not knowing how much time had passed, Ye Xi rushed towards them in a hurry, looking at Mu Shengchen anxiously while holding Mu Shengchen's phone in his hand.

"What's the matter?" Mu Shengchen frowned, obviously looking unhappy.

Ye Xi walked to Mu Shengchen's side, bent down, and whispered into his ear. Mu Shengchen's expression suddenly turned cold, but he did not move.

Ye Xi looked at the surgery room's door which was shut tightly and quietly stood aside.

After some time, the door finally opened. Ning Qianyu walked up to the doctor as soon as he came out.

"Doctor, how is my mother?"

"The surgery was a success. The patient will be sent to the ICU for further observation. Once she's conscious, she'll be sent back to the normal ward."

Ning Qianyu was relieved after hearing what the doctor said. She paid her gratitude to the doctor and hurried off to see her mother.

As for Mu Shengchen, after confirming that Ning Shujun's surgery was a success, he hurriedly left the hospital along with Ye Xi.

After Ning Shujun woke up, she was transferred back to the VIP ward from the ICU. Her condition was very stable and believed that it would not be long before she fully recovered. The cast on Ning Qianyu's right hand had also been removed. Although she was still bandaged, the doctor said that she recovered well, and just in a few days, she would be able to proceed to the physiotherapy.

Ning Qianyu wiped her mother's face while saying, "Mom, we've been transferred out of the ICU. You'll recover soon."

"Qianyu, is Shengchen that busy? He didn't come to see me even after my surgery." Ning Shujun carefully observed her daughter's reaction. She had never seen her son-in-law coming to the hospital, causing her to be suspicious of her daughter.
