C15 Rare Domineering Gentleman

The young star pushed her sunglasses back gracefully as she headed to her young fans. "Thank you all for your support." Even her voice sounded like melodious bells as she signed a few of their books. Once everything was in order, she stepped into the hotel.

Du Xiaoxiao blinked. While she didn't love her job as a reporter, she didn't need to be a genius to know this woman. Ha! Who the hell wouldn't know her?

She was none other than Qingwu–the most famous model of her time. Not only was she the Queen of Movies, but she was also the Queen of Pop! She was everything a woman could've ever wanted to be! It didn't help that she was also as elegant as the queen herself. No matter where she went, she was the center of attention.

Du Xiaoxiao gazed at her for a while, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of longingness in her heart.

People really lead different lives.

Qingwu was obviously doted by God. Not only that but she was given everything that she could've ever asked for.

"What are you looking at? You're different from her. She's a natural star, while you're a reporter." A cold voice came from behind her. "Do you envy her?"

Du Xiaoxiao glanced back to see him standing there with his hands shoved into his pockets.

She snorted coldly.

The last thing she needed was to be mocked by the man who she had just slept with.

Shooting him a glare, she turned around and walked away.

Damn that bastard! What did he know?

What natural star? Qingwu was an incredible woman, but that didn't mean that the woman was meant for greatness. Because a few years ago, both of them started in the same patch.

They were just young, ordinary women.

Not only did she see her on TV, but they were even friends.

From a distance, Qingwu's gaze fell on Gu Tianqi. Then she glanced at the side to see a woman walking far away from him.

Her gaze narrowed.

Did his taste change?

Did he suddenly like normal-looking women?

Was he trying to get something new?

Raising her hand to support her glasses, Qingwu turned around and entered the hotel.

No matter how fresh the woman looked, she was just another passerby beside him.

Qingwu raised her head. Compared to the other women who'd die to be at his side, she was different, because she was the woman who had left a mark on his chest.

He'd never forget her, and soon enough, he'd finally be able to let go of his pride and stay by her side.

One day...

As long as she kept on becoming more and more outstanding, even her charm would surpass her fame.

On the other end of the street, Gu Tianqi was thinking of other things. All he could see was Du Xiaoxiao's retreating figure, and he went back and drove his car out instead.

Although they didn't leave together, both of them soon met up at the traffic light.

He couldn't help but think back to the time she had almost fallen on the elevator. Pursing his lips, he poked his head out of the window. "Get in the car," he said. "I'll drive you home."

"There's no need," she coldly refused.

"I saw you almost fall." He frowned. "Just get in."

Biting her lips, her gaze fell on him once more. "Mr. Gu, although I appreciate your rare gentlemanly behavior, I really don't feel like sitting inside your car, okay?"

"You know why you aren't succeeding? Because you're too stubborn." Gu Tianqi didn't ask for more trouble. An awkward feeling twinged in his heart, and he turned around and drove in the opposite direction. He didn't even wait for her to reply.

Du Xiaoxiao gritted her teeth. What stubbornness was he talking about? She wasn't stubborn! She just hated him with a passion.

That's right! She hated him.

The green light turned back up, and she immediately rushed to the bus stop. The only thing she needed was a nice hot bath to forget everything that happened in her day.

Just as she was about to turn a corner, another person jumped out and hugged her. She jolted.

"What the hell?" With a cry of surprise, she struggled from his grip, pushing whoever was behind her.

"Let go of me! Let go of me!"

"Sis! It's me." A familiar voice sounded in her ear, and she immediately looked up.

It really was Du Hengyu's face. His arms had already slipped away from her waist, and he was already clutching his stomach in laughter. She, however, wasn't the slightest bit amused.

Shoving him away, Du Xiaoxiao punched him in the arm. "It isn't funny!" she snapped. "You almost scared me to death."

"Yeah, yeah!" He held her in his arms. "I'm sure you missed me."

"I'll only give you pickles for dinner," she snapped, burying her head in his arms. "Ass."

When Du Hengyu heard her, he immediately became obedient. He let go of her as a sheepish smile graced his lips. "Oh, my beautiful and forgiving sister," he said dramatically. "I was wrong. Please find it in your gracious heart to forgive me."

The corners of her lips twitched.

Immediately, the panic and frustration she felt towards Gu Tianqi disappeared just like that. She ruffled her hair, stifling a laugh. There really was no point in getting mad at him.

Her brother had always been there to comfort her whenever she felt alone in this world. He was the light in her darkness, especially after her parents' death. He was already enough.

Nothing in the world mattered more than family.

Du Hengyu clutched her hand. "Hold my hand," he said. "You shouldn't be keeping your head down while you're walking. Seriously, I don't know what you'll do without me."

Holding hands like this, it looked like he was the older sibling than the younger one. She couldn't help but chuckle. "You really have grown up," she teased. "Who told you to worry about me? I'm older than you, you know."

"I've already told you that I'm capable of taking care of you, right?" He pursed his lips. "You should trust me more, Sis."

Her gaze softened as a smile slipped into her lips.

As soon as Du Hengyu saw that the warmth had returned to her eyes, a warm current flowed through his heart.

She was someone who he wanted to protect. As long as she kept smiling, he'd do anything for her. After all, she had already done everything for him. It was time that he did the same.

When he became stronger and more important, he'd be able to take care of her.

'Actually,' he thought, looking away. 'I've already become stronger and could take better care of myself. I just can't tell you right now, sis, but I'm safe, I promise.'

'If you knew who I am now, you'd just be angry. It's best that you're kept in the dark first.'

Du Xiaoxiao followed him and left. She didn't even think about Gu Tianqi at all. The man had already faded to the back of her mind. Her smile became content as she followed her brother down the street.

Gu Tianqi, however, looked even more troubled. His forehead was creased and her eyebrows were furrowed over.

Why did he even ask her? All he needed to do was grab her and bring her to the car!

Yes, that's what he should do! That way, he knew that she was safe.

As soon as he agreed with himself, he turned the car back to the other street.

When he did, the first thing he saw was this mysterious man grabbing Du Xiaoxiao's hand as they were crossing the road. A wide smile was plastered across her face as the two laughed together.

Gu Tianqi stared at them for a long time.

Who was that man? He looked even younger than her.

Was he her boyfriend?

No, that's impossible. Du Xiaoxiao shouldn't have a boyfriend, right? Did they just meet each other? No, that's impossible. She had just slept with him a few days ago...and it's just been a few days...

Moreover, he was just a young man.

His gaze landed on their clasped hands, and his face became even gloomier.

He hated people touching what was his.

While Du Xiaoxiao wasn't his yet, he couldn't help but feel annoyed. His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, and he scowled. All he could think about was the way they held hands–as if they were familiar with each other already.

That hand was the same hand that had hugged him not long ago.

His heart thumped in his chest, and he immediately turned away. His eyes were narrowed.

That woman had provoked him from time and time again. This time, he wouldn't dare forgive her!

Gu Tianqi's face darkened. Turning around, he drove away. He seemed to have forgotten his rules–that he should have better control of himself and that he should get a hold of his emotions. Somehow, all his rules were thrown out the window the minute he thought of Du Xiaoxiao.
