Not understanding anything

Story is jumping back and forth. Initially it is shown he has already fallen in love with her chasing her then suddenly without any reason he is not sure he loves her. Then his look a like brother was about to take his place but then out of a sudden that plot disappears. Still scratching my head why I started this story
