C16 How Many Women Could Resist Him?
"You can call me Shallow." A faint smile played on Yih Qianbo's lips as he brazenly looked Wen Mian up and down.
Wen Mian had a great figure, the kind that made clothes look even better. Her nightclub uniform highlighted her curves, making it hard for anyone to look away.
"Yih Qianbo!" Wen Mian blurted out his name, unable to stand his laser-like gaze any longer. It felt as if she wasn't wearing anything, and his wicked stare sent shivers down her spine.
"Yes, I'm here." Yih Qianbo leaned in close to her cheek, gently brushing against her lips without actually kissing her, just teasingly grazing them.
His slow, suggestive movements made Wen Mian's heart flutter. She had to admit, Yih Qianbo was a master at flirting—handsome, well-built, with almost perfect qualities.
How many women could resist a man like that? Even Wen Mian found it hard to turn him down.
But finally, her sense returned. She pushed Yih Qianbo away, a flash of anger in her eyes. "Yih Qianbo, what do you want? I'm working right now. If you're bored, I can find ten or so girls to keep you company. If that's not enough, I'll get you eighty. But I really don't have time to waste with you. I have a job to do."
"I'll cover you today, just work for me." Yih Qianbo raised an eyebrow, his smile both arrogant and mischievous. "Your Dark Night Royal Palace is open for business; you wouldn't just turn away a customer, would you?"
"But why does it have to be me?" Wen Mian's heart skipped a beat at Yih Qianbo's smile. Even though she knew it was pointless, she still tried to reason with him. "Director Yih, if you're looking for revenge, haven't you had enough? I just spent one night with you, and honestly, you didn't lose out. After all, it was my..."
She didn't finish her sentence, hoping Yih Qianbo would understand. She couldn't believe that the night they spent together was his first.
Just as the thought crossed her mind, Yih Qianbo answered, "You used me, so you have to take responsibility. You think you can just walk away? What kind of person do you take me for?"
"I have to take responsibility just because I used you? Don't tell me you were a virgin!" The words slipped out before Wen Mian could stop herself.
As soon as she said it, Wen Mian was shocked by her own audacity. But before she could even start to panic, Yih Qianbo's expression darkened instantly.
Wen Mian's heart sank. Oh no, she thought, could Yih Qianbo really have been a virgin?
"Oh my gosh, are you kidding me? The way Yih Qianbo was going at it that night, it was like he was new to this."
"Don't look at me like I'm some kind of freak." Yih Qianbo's brows furrowed slightly as he glared at Wen Mian, like a kid whose secret had just been exposed and was now throwing a tantrum.
Uh... he’s actually kind of cute.
"Keep staring, and I might just make a move right now," Yih Qianbo threatened, his eyes cold and unyielding.
Wen Mian subtly shifted her gaze elsewhere. Fine, she wouldn’t look. She was blind, didn’t see a thing.
But if what Yih Qianbo said was true, that using him meant taking responsibility, what was she supposed to do with the rest of her life? Was she going to carry this "burden" forever?
She still wanted to date, to get married someday. If she got tangled up with him, she could only imagine how bleak her future would be!
Just thinking about it made Wen Mian feel like she was sinking into a bottomless pit, growing colder and more hopeless with each thought.
"What are you daydreaming about now? Figuring out how to ditch me?" Yih Qianbo asked, his voice low and icy, eyes fixed on her.
"Yes." Wen Mian nodded instinctively, her tone so natural that even she didn’t realize what she was saying.
"Yes?" At the words, Yih Qianbo gritted his teeth, his dark eyes glaring sharply at Wen Mian. "Say that again."
Yih Qianbo was angry, and Wen Mian inwardly panicked, forcing a dry smile. "Mr. Yih, please don't be upset. I was just daydreaming, talking nonsense. Don't take it seriously. You want to sponsor me, right? Well, I'll make an exception this time. Come, have a seat, and I'll pour you a drink."
Truth be told, Wen Mian was a bit nervous. After all, the person she was dealing with was the most influential man in the city, and she was just an ordinary nobody. How could she possibly afford to offend someone like him?
Compared to Yih Qianbo, she was like an ant facing an elephant. Resistance? Probably futile.
Wen Mian thought sadly that instead of resisting, she might as well pretend to comply. As long as she could keep this man happy, she wouldn't have to worry about him causing her trouble again.
So, Wen Mian quickly decided that from now on, she wouldn't resist in front of Yih Qianbo.
Her change in attitude was so swift that it puzzled Yih Qianbo. "What's going on in that little head of yours?"
"Hehe, I'm just thinking about how to serve you well, Mr. Yih. I'm the manager here, after all. Your spending here is like giving us money. The more you spend, the more I earn. You're my bread and butter, so of course, I want to serve you well," Wen Mian sweetly flattered.
Internally, she thought, "If I don't treat you well, you'll keep coming back to hassle me. Here's hoping this little gesture sends you on your way."
"Haha, you said it," Wen Mian replied, raising her glass with a practiced smile. "Director Yih, here's to you."
"Interesting," Yih Qianbo's cold gaze flickered briefly before he offered a lazy, mischievous smile. "Alright, I'll drink to that."
Yih Qianbo wasn't clueless; he knew exactly what Wen Mian was thinking. But there was no need to call her out. After all, there was plenty of time to address things later.
"Ms. Mian, there's a woman outside who says she's a good friend of yours and wants to talk," came the voice of Gu from the front desk over the intercom, sounding a bit anxious. "Could you come down right away?"
"Okay, I'm on my way," Wen Mian replied, feeling a sense of relief. She had been looking for an excuse to leave Room 333, and now a savior had arrived to help her out. She was finally free from dealing with Yih Qianbo.
Wen Mian couldn't help but feel curious about who had come to see her. She'd definitely owe them a big thank you for their timely intervention.
"Director Yih, as you can see, I have some work to attend to. Would you mind singing a few songs on your own?" Wen Mian stood up and gave Yih Qianbo a slight bow. "Our Director Mo isn't here today, so I'm handling all the business. I'm really busy and can't keep you company. How about I call a few ladies to join you?"
"I have plenty of time; I can wait until you're done," Yih Qianbo said with a faint smile, his lips curving perfectly.
"Alright, Director Yih, please wait a moment," Wen Mian replied, silently cursing Yih Qianbo as she smiled and exited the room.
"Manager."
The security guards at the door stood respectfully as Wen Mian stepped out.
