C2 Walking Without Eyes!
Colorful lights converged over the expansive dance floor, casting vibrant hues on the diverse crowd moving to the rhythm. The blaring music, the loud chatter, and the crisp clinking of glasses all made Wen Mian feel at ease. No matter what she had gone through that day, it no longer mattered.
The server, quick and efficient, led Wen Mian and Tai Kefei to their booth. Wen Mian tossed her bag onto the sofa and settled in leisurely.
"Ms. Mian, what brings you here today?" The server, well-acquainted with her, skillfully served her usual drinks and snacks.
Wen Mian squinted slightly, pointed at the server, and shouted in his ear, "Don't let your boss know I'm here today, or else... you know what'll happen."
After sharing half a bottle of whiskey, they weren't quite drunk but pleasantly buzzed.
"You can't come to a bar and not dance! Come on, down this drink, and let's hit the floor!"
Feeling the alcohol take effect, Wen Mian unsteadily got to her feet and pulled Tai Kefei up with her. "Let's go, time to dance!"
Supporting each other, they made their way to the center of the dance floor, swaying to the beat. Perhaps it was the alcohol, but they joyfully danced close, their movements graceful and fluid.
After the song ended, Wen Mian felt dizzy, her stomach churning uncontrollably. As she stepped off the dance floor, Tai Kefei frowned and waved her hand, saying, "I can't do it anymore. All that head shaking made me dizzy. I'm going to sit for a bit!"
With that, she plopped down on the nearest table by the dance floor, burying her head and ignoring everything else.
Wen Mian pursed her lips and staggered toward her booth. Distracted, she accidentally bumped into someone.
The collision hurt her head, and she looked up, ready to unleash a string of curses. But after uttering just a "you," she swallowed the rest of her words...
This guy... he's actually pretty good-looking.
That was Wen Mian's first thought when she raised her head and saw the person in front of her. Although there were plenty of attractive guys at the club, they seemed a bit ordinary compared to him.
The man in front of her was tall, slightly lowering his head to look at Wen Mian. His bright eyes fixed on her, and the curve of his lips hinted at a stubborn streak.
"Can't you watch where you're going?"
His calm voice reached her ears, and for some reason, Wen Mian found it particularly pleasant. It seemed that good looks really did make a difference; when someone attractive spoke to her like that, she couldn't even muster any anger.
However, it seemed like this was exactly what she had been about to say to him!
Wen Mian's body was still swaying slightly as she tried to find something to steady herself. Instinctively, she grabbed the arm of the person in front of her. She frowned a bit, slightly displeased, and lightly tapped the man's chest with her other hand. "Is that how you talk to a lady? Don't you know you'll never attract customers like that?"
After saying this, she let out a playful huff, almost like she was teasing him. The person standing behind the man looked surprised at first, then lowered his head, trying to stifle a laugh, almost as if he was about to burst.
The man turned his head slightly, giving the person a cold look, which made them quickly shut their mouth. "Attract customers? What do you think I am?"
The man glanced down disdainfully at Wen Mian's hand on his wrist but didn't push it away. Wen Mian sighed, speaking earnestly, "Oh, what are you? I've seen plenty like you! With a temper like that, you must not have had any business today, right? No worries, tonight I'll keep you company! It's a shame someone as striking as you can't attract any customers!"
With that, she tried to pull the man along with her. The man wearing glasses behind him seemed to sense trouble brewing and quickly stepped forward to block their path.
"Are you out of your mind? Do you even know who you're talking to? This is..."
The guy with the small glasses glared menacingly at Wen Mian, but before he could finish, a single look from the man beside him silenced him.
Wen Mian frowned, then suddenly seemed to realize something and laughed, "Oh, my bad, little brother. I forgot about you. You might not be as handsome as him, but you're not bad! Perfect timing—I have a friend who could use some company. Come on, you can keep her company tonight!"
With that, she grabbed the guy with the small glasses by the arm and started to drag both of them toward the booth.
The man stopped in his tracks, turning Wen Mian to face him. He chuckled with interest, "You want to hire me?"
His tone was as if he’d just heard the most ridiculous joke, dripping with disdain.
Wen Mian tried hard to steady herself, her gaze firm despite her swaying. "That's right, you heard me. I'm hiring you tonight. Don't worry, I’ll treat you well!"
She leered at the man in front of her, finding him more appealing by the second. Indeed, even a male escort was leagues better than that jerk Ziqi.
The man tilted his head back and laughed softly, then looked down at Wen Mian with a teasing smile, "Alright, thanks for the offer, ma'am."
Wen Mian waved her hand with a flourish. "No need to be so polite. I know how tough your line of work can be, I really do..."
She lowered her head, feeling her vision start to blur.
"You know how tough this job is? Does that mean... you've done it before?"
The voice was teasing, almost too much so, and Wen Mian felt a flicker of annoyance. But her mind was already spinning out of control, and she didn't quite catch what the man had said.
She waved her hand dismissively, impatiently muttering, "Huh? Oh... maybe."
With that, she staggered toward her booth, her steps growing more unsteady. After barely three steps, she collapsed into the man's arms, completely unconscious.
The man caught a whiff of alcohol from Wen Mian and instinctively leaned his head back, frowning but not pushing her away.
"Bro, what do we do with her?" Lu Yuan asked, looking awkwardly at the woman sprawled in Yi Qianbo's arms.
Yi Qianbo glanced down at the woman, drunk and mumbling incoherently, and raised an eyebrow. "Does she think I'm some kind of escort? Interesting."
With that, he pushed the woman toward Lu Yuan and headed for the bar's exit, calling back, "Carry her to my car."
Lu Yuan looked at the woman resting against his chest with her eyes closed and couldn't help but frown. She was attractive, but unfortunately, not a good person. With a slight sigh, he thought to himself. Seeing her sleep like a log, he decided not to bother with any chivalrous gestures and simply hoisted her over his shoulder to carry her away...
