C4 You Used Three Last Night!
The lights went out, and the night was a blur of dreams.
Morning sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains, landing right on Wen Mian's eyes. She frowned, instinctively raising a hand to shield them. Stretching and blinking, she let out a soft sigh, feeling parched and reached for water by the bed.
As the blanket slipped off, Wen Mian's eyes widened at her bare body and the scattered clothes on the floor. She sat up abruptly, her mind racing back to last night...
Her once composed face was now twisted in disbelief. She clutched her head, wishing she could just disappear. What was this? A drunken mistake? But she clearly remembered being the one to flirt with the guy!
No time to dwell on it—she needed to leave this place immediately. Hastily grabbing her clothes from the floor, she threw them on without a second thought.
Once dressed, she ran a hand through her hair and reached for her phone on the nightstand, noticing a stack of cash beneath it. Wen Mian squinted, puzzled. She hired a guy, and he left her money?
With a deep breath, Wen Mian picked up her bag and walked out, the door slamming shut behind her. As she lifted her head, it felt like her heart shattered in sync with the door's echoing bang.
Wen Mian, oh Wen Mian, it's one thing to hire a gigolo, but pretending to be a wealthy woman and bringing him to such a luxurious presidential suite? A night in this suite costs five days' wages!
Wen Mian walked regretfully to the front desk, her face darker than a storm cloud.
"Checking out of room 8306," she said, her voice as small as a whisper, sounding utterly defeated.
For some reason, the front desk clerk didn't look much better than she did.
"Ma'am, your total comes to $2,890."
Hearing this number felt like a punch to Wen Mian's gut, leaving her dizzy. The presidential suite at the six-star Green Hotel in A City certainly lived up to its reputation. Maybe she should stay until noon before checking out? Every second felt like money slipping away.
Gritting her teeth, Wen Mian reluctantly pulled a credit card from her bag, ready to hand it to the clerk.
But just as she looked up to hand over the card, she noticed the room rate: $2,800.
The clerk had already grasped one corner of the card, about to take it, but Wen Mian pulled it back.
"Isn't it $2,800? What about the extra ninety?"
Ninety dollars is still money!
The clerk lowered her head, coughed lightly into her fist, and leaned forward slightly. "Our hotel provides those for $30 each, and last night... you used three."
Wen Mian felt like she was about to cough up blood. What did they mean she used three? How could she use three herself? Clearly, it was that...
Calm down... She was the one who first got involved with the gigolo. Yes, that's it.
So, if it costs ninety bucks more, just give her the ninety bucks. Why did she have to ask that question? It was like she was asking for trouble.
"Ma'am, maybe... you could pay next time."
Seeing Wen Mian's conflicted expression, the receptionist offered with an awkward smile.
What? A six-star hotel allows you to pay later? That's unheard of.
But she had no dignity left in this place. She swore she'd never return to this hotel. Never!
So, under the curious gazes of all the hotel staff, Wen Mian swiped her card and left the hotel in a hurry.
At that moment, the receptionist held the printed credit card receipt, looking distressed...
It was clear that their big Boss had personally brought her here, but when the Boss left this morning, he specifically instructed them to charge her, with no discounts.
How did their Boss make his fortune? Was it by freeloading?
The receptionist glanced at the figure hailing a cab at the hotel entrance and sighed...
What if she becomes the boss's wife in the future? If she collected this money today, would she still have a job here later?
Wen Mian got home and enjoyed a nice, relaxing bath, changing into fresh clothes. Yet, despite all this, the soreness in her body showed no signs of easing.
She picked up her phone and dialed Tai Kefei's number. As soon as the call connected, Wen Mian, with a cold tone, said, "Tai Kefei, meet me at the usual spot, and bring your head!"
With that, she hung up with a sharp click.
"So, you're telling me that last night, you were taken to the presidential suite by a very handsome young man? And he even left you money? Wait, no, you took a handsome young man to the presidential suite."
Tai Kefei sat across from Wen Mian, her coffee cup hovering mid-air, not yet reaching her lips.
Wen Mian, looking utterly bored and listless, stirred her coffee with a spoon, gritting her teeth. "It's your fault! Why didn't you stop me when you knew I was looking for a gigolo? Where did you disappear to afterward?"
Tai Kefei, with an innocent look, pouted at Wen Mian. "How is it my fault? You got me so drunk yesterday that I fell asleep wherever I could. They only woke me up because they were closing. But did that guy really leave you money? Maybe he felt sorry for you being single for so long?"
Tai Kefei spoke with a mischievous grin on her face. Wen Mian raised her hand, pretending she was about to smack Tai Kefei. "You're the old maid! Your whole family is!"
"Alright, I'm just kidding. Think about it—this time wasn't a total loss. Losing your first time to a handsome guy is way better than to that jerk. Plus, he left you some money, unlike that loser who just mooched off you."
Setting down her coffee cup, Wen Mian waved her hand dismissively. "You've got a point there. Anyone's better than that jerk. What's done is done, and I won't dwell on it. We'll be strangers from now on, and I doubt that guy will even remember me."
"But Wen Mian, don't you think it's odd how generous he was last night? The money he left... it's not a small amount. Even if he knew it was your first time, it's still a lot."
Tai Kefei's eyes were practically glued to the stack of cash next to Wen Mian's coffee cup. Wen Mian pressed her tongue against her cheek. "Let's just say that guy has a bit of a conscience. He knows he got the better end of the deal last night, not me!"
She hadn't been aware of anything last night and felt nothing but pain today. "Anyway, I need to get to work."
With that, she zipped up her bag and prepared to leave.
"Who would've thought the esteemed Miss Wen would be tied down by Mo Qian? A three-year contract, Wen Mian. Let's see how you get through it!" Tai Kefei watched Wen Mian with a look of amusement.
