C6 You Are Shameless but I Still Want It
"Mian, are you saying you won't forgive me? I've already cut ties with that woman, really. If you don't believe me, look at my phone. I've deleted her number," Ziqi said, pulling his phone from his pocket to show her.
But Wen Mian didn't reach for it. She squinted slightly and sighed, "Sir, you're being too hard on yourself. What did you do wrong? If there's any fault, it's mine. You two are clearly into each other, and I shouldn't have been so blind to get in the way of your great time together. I mean, how many times can I make the same mistake, right? But since you're being so sincere, I'll take the cake."
With that, she pulled the cake closer to her.
Seeing her accept the cake, Ziqi thought she was just teasing him earlier and that she had already calmed down.
Wen Mian leisurely opened the cake box, examined the cake closely, and took a sniff. "Hmm, it smells really good."
Strange, she thought, where have I heard that before?
With a smile, she offered the cake to Ziqi. "This cake is too big for me to finish alone. Why don't you have some too?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Wen Mian flipped the entire cake onto Ziqi's face. He stood there, covered in cake, eyes shut tight, looking utterly humiliated.
Wen Mian chuckled softly, her voice clear and bright, "So, how is it? Tastes good, right?"
Her actions caused everyone present, whether guests or staff, to gasp in surprise.
Wen Mian never picked up the trash she discarded. Smiling smugly, she bypassed the front desk, heading upstairs to her office.
She thought her actions would make Gao Ziqi back off, but to her surprise, he suddenly dropped to his knees with a thud, clinging to her leg to stop her from leaving.
"Mian, I really know I was wrong. You smashed the cake in my face just now; that should have calmed you down, right?" Gao Ziqi looked miserable, his voice even carrying a hint of a sob.
She was indeed calmer because her relationship with Gao Ziqi was merely a business arrangement between two small companies, lacking any deep emotional ties. Being betrayed had angered her initially, but after yesterday's scene and today's, she felt she could move on. However, Gao Ziqi's persistent harassment was becoming increasingly annoying.
Wen Mian frowned and sighed, "Mr. Gao, this is a public place, and we have business to conduct. Please get up; you're making this very awkward for me."
"If you don't forgive me, I'm not leaving today." With that, he tightened his grip on her leg.
Wen Mian's lips curled into a slight smirk as she leaned down, growling, "Ziqi, you might not care about your dignity, but I still care about mine. Get up now!"
The crowd around them was growing larger. It was bad enough that the video had spread, but now they were putting on an even more embarrassing show in front of so many people.
As Yih Qianbo stepped into the main hall of the Dark Night Royal Palace, he was greeted by the sight of a man with cake smeared across his face, clinging to a woman's leg and refusing to let go.
Perhaps it was the powerful aura and presence that Yih Qianbo carried with him that caused the room to fall silent the moment he entered. The attention that had been focused on Wen Mian and Ziqi gradually shifted to him.
Yih Qianbo cast only a brief glance at the two of them, his gaze not lingering any longer than necessary.
With the sudden quiet, Wen Mian couldn't help but look in the direction everyone else was staring.
She saw a man with an impressive demeanor, hands in his pockets, walking toward the spiral staircase with an exceptionally indifferent expression.
He looked... kind of familiar?
Following behind Yih Qianbo, Lu Yuan frowned as he watched the scene from a distance. The woman seemed familiar too... Was he just bad with faces now?
But wait a minute, the boss could have just taken the elevator straight up. Why did he go out of his way to take the stairs through the lobby?
Ah, the boss's motives are getting harder and harder to figure out.
After the onlookers finished admiring the handsome man, they turned their attention back to Mian and the other person.
Mian really didn't want to get tangled up with him any further, so she pressed the intercom: "Send four security guards over here. We have a troublemaker. Get him out of here."
She hadn't wanted to embarrass Ziqi any more than necessary, but now that he was disrupting her work, she couldn't hold back.
The security guards came in, four strong, and lifted Ziqi right off his feet...
As he was being dragged out, Ziqi finally lost his temper: "You think I wanted to come looking for you? If it weren't for my parents, I wouldn't bother with you at all. You're nothing compared to Ziqian! Mian, you'll regret treating me like this. Just wait!"
Hearing Ziqi's words, Mian couldn't help but let out a cold laugh and roll her eyes: "Mr. Gao, Mian will be waiting for you!"
Watching Ziqi disappear from view, Mian's tense body finally relaxed a bit.
Two days of non-stop drama had left her feeling completely drained, like the whole world was devoid of love.
The crowd that had gathered to watch the spectacle had dispersed, leaving Wen Mian to sigh and find a seat in the waiting area.
A breakup and a loss of innocence. Two major life events happening on the same day, and the worst part is, they involve different people. It felt like her energy was completely drained.
Just as Wen Mian closed her eyes for a brief rest, a voice crackled over the radio with urgency: "Manager, there's an issue in VIP Suite 333. Could you come and handle it?"
Hearing the number 333, Wen Mian immediately sat up straight. The third floor's suites were all exclusive VIP rooms, only five in total, reserved by the most prominent figures in the city. Due to the Dark Night Royal Palace's commitment to privacy, even the elevator to the third-floor VIP area was built separately.
Come to think of it, she'd been the manager here for three months and had never been to the third floor. The radio continued to buzz with noise, indicating the problem was likely significant.
Wen Mian took a deep breath, adjusted her attire, and hurried into the elevator, pressing the button for the third floor.
With a 'ding,' the elevator doors opened to reveal a young male server waiting anxiously at the entrance.
"What’s going on?" Wen Mian asked, her expression serious as she headed toward Suite 333.
The server, frowning deeply, kept pace with Wen Mian, his steps quick. "It's the new hostess today. For some reason, after a few drinks, she refused to continue. Naturally, the guests inside got upset. They specifically requested to see the manager."
Everyone knows that the third floor of the Dark Night Royal Palace is a place reserved for a select few. No matter how big the issue, people instinctively tense up when it involves that area. The individuals there are not to be trifled with.
